I also release the above from any and all damages which may be sustained and suffered by me in connection with my association with or entry in the above athletic meet or which arise out of traveling to, participating in, and returning from such athletic meet. Furthermore I also release the above from all damages to my property. I, the undersigned, am at least eighteen years of age. I have carefully read the above stated release and covenant not to use. I understand the contents thereof and agree that my execution of the release and covenant not to sue is my own free, voluntary act and deed. 5 Competition Rules All competition rules as established by the World Taekwondo Federation Poomse (Forms) - Taegeuks Only Gyroogi (Sparring) - Olympic Sparring Age # of Rounds Time Per Round Rest Period 11 & Under All Belts & Over Color Belts & Over Black Belts Division Age 4-11, all belts Age 12-17, color belts Age 12-17, black belts Age 18 & Above Rules Junior Modified Junior Rules Adult Rules Adult Rules Junior Safety Rules For all competitors ages 4-11 there will be light contact allowed to the face or head from kicks. No punching will be allowed to the face or head. Decisions will be awarded according to WTF Rules. Color belt competitors ages will use the junior safety rules where kicking to the face and head are encouraged. Legal kick techniques to the face and head, executed with control, will be scored as 2 points. Any competitor that kicks an opponent s face or head hard enough to cause bleeding or injury will be disqualified. It will be the judgment of the center referee alone as to whether a technique to the face or head should be counted as a point, a deduction, or a disqualification. Added this year, all 18 years old and above will follow Adult Rules. Adult Safety Rules All black belts age will fight under adult rules, which is full contact to the body and full contact to the head. Atlanta Open Taekwondo Championships will run like the Junior Olympics with a holding area. Pre-registration is recommended. Divisions Both sparring and form competitions will be broken up by both age and belt rank into the following divisions: Age Divisions and Under 18 & Above Belt Divisions Black Red Blue & Green/Purple White & Yellow

NO PROPS, SPEED BREAKS or POWER BREAKS WILL BE ALLOWED 3 Stations 1 Board at each station Breaking will be judged on: 1. Accuracy, Speed, and Power * Breaking on the first attempt is superior to breaking on the second attempt. 2. Presentation: Competitor balance, rhythm, and good manner from entrance to the completion of the performance aresuperior to the competitor without balance, rhythm and good manner. The required techniques are the techniques to be performed by the competitor. The presentation of the technique and the number of tries to break the board is what the judges will score.

7 General Information Competition Events Poomse (Taegeuk forms only) Gyroogi (Sparring) Daedo Rings for Red and Black Belts Sparring and Breaking Awards Trophies will be awarded to 1st place winners in sparring Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners in forms and 2nd, 3rd and 4th place winners in sparring Outstanding School & Individual Awards will be presented Eligibility All competitors must be a member of a well-established, certified WT Taekwondo or martial arts school or club with certified WT instructors. Equipment The following WT regulation equipment is required for all competitors: A white, clean uniform White shin, instep, and forearm protectors Mouthpiece Groin protector worn under the uniform (males only) Reversible red / blue WT style chest protector WT approved headgear WT approved gloves are permitted, but not required. Weigh-in & Registration Registration and weigh-in will take place on Saturday, August 18th, AM to 10AM at Kings Ridge Christian School, 2765 Bethany Bend, Alpharetta, GA All black belt sparring competitors must be weighed-in to be eligible for sparring.
