2 Dear Masters, Instructors and Taekwondo Practitioners, It is with great pleasure and honor that we extend this invitation to you to participate in the 3 rd Black Belt World Canadian Taekwondo Championship Festival to be held on July 8 th, 2017 at Barrie Molson Centre: This is a fully sanctioned Ontario Taekwondo Association (OTA) competition event for World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) style Taekwondo. All Ontario competitors and coaches must be current members of the OTA. $25 OTA Color Belt/Black Belt Membership Insurance is mandatory for all non-ontario athletes. All athletes and coaches must register their athletes and coaches online by the Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 21 st, Registration is only complete upon receiving payment. Coaches must be Kukkiwon holders and will receive 1 FREE PASS per school. All submitted coaches would have full access to the VIP Lounge on the day and receive one free overnight stay for every 15 early bird registered competitors. Please indicate Friday or Saturday night. This will be an all-day event as it promises to be an exciting and action-packed competition that will attract over 1000 competitors and 3000 spectators. We will also be inviting a great number of athletes from the neighboring provinces; the USA and several Pan American nations. We will be hosting a Festival in conjunction with the tournament, showcasing a variety of family-oriented activities such as a petting zoo, face painting, Paw Patrol mascots, to name a few. We will be providing prizes to the lucky winners and draws throughout the day. It is our goal to provide you with the best experience as we share our passion for the love of Taekwondo. We will be welcoming guest celebrity stars from film & television, one of whom was the lead star on the 1989 blockbuster film, Best of the Best, Master Phillip Rhee. We would like to encourage the athletes to challenge their skills through the competitive sport, but also share the spirit of Taekwondo. We look forward to hosting you at this event. 5 INFORMATION & RULES Championship Festival Competitors who do not comply or have full required equipment will not be permitted to compete due to safety reasons. After May 31 st, 2017, all other registration fees will be $25 with an applicable $10 late charge, if submitted between June 22 nd and July 5 th.
