3 Medals will be given out at the conclusion of each event Rules & Regulations Kata: Competitors shall meet the uniform requirements; Long hair shall be neatly gathered with discreet elastic bands so as not to interfere with the performance of the KATA. Jewelry, hats, caps, head bands and sweat bands shall not be allowed. Finger and toe nails shall be short and neatly trimmed. Contestants who present themselves incorrectly dressed will be given one minute in which to remedy the situation. All contestants must perform Traditional Shotokan Kata. Every competitor has the choice to repeat their kata or perform a different kata each round. All kata divisions will be judged by utilizing the Flag System. Team Kata: Kumite: All kata divisions will be judged by utilizing the Flag System. All contestants must perform Traditional Shotokan Kata. All Teams must consist of 3 members only. All team members must fall into the correct age/rank range for the entered division. The kata performed MUST fall in line with the rank of the lowest rank competitor. Katas done above or too far below rank will result in penalty or disqualification at discretion of referee. Teams will be registered under the Team Captain s name. IKU modified rules will be utilized (see enclosed/attached packet for full rules). No contact is permitted to the head, face, neck or groin, for youth divisions. Youth Division: Two minutes (running time.) Sanbon Kumite, (6 half points). Ippon and Wazari will be awarded Adult Divisions- Shobu Ippon Kumite, two half points (wazari) or 1 Ippon (full point) Two minutes (running time) In the Adult final or championship round 3 Ippon and Three minutes (stop time) will be utilized

I fully realize that participation in the Warwick Shotokan Karate Championships can be dangerous and could result in serious injury or possibly death and freely assume that risk. In the event of an emergency, I give permission for Warwick Shotokan to give myself or my child first aid and to arrange for transportation to a hospital and to receive emergency medical treatment. I will assume all costs for medical care and transportation. 6 Warwick Shotokan Karate Championships Directions to Competition: Central Bucks High School West LOCATION AND DIRECTIONS 375 West Court Street Doylestown, PA (across the street from Central Bucks Family YMCA) Central Bucks West is located off Route 202 in Doylestown. From the Pennsylvania Turnpike: Exit at Willow Grove North. When approaching Doylestown take route 611 North bypass to the route 202 South exit. At the end of the ramp go left (202 N. Main Street). Go through the light at the Hospital entrance. Take the next right onto Memorial Drive. Turn left onto Court street. From South/ West: Take Route 202 North, through Chalfont and New Britain. Continue on the same road past the Hospital. Take the next right onto Memorial Drive. Turn left onto Court street. From the North/East: Take Route 202 South, follow Route 202 by--pass around Doylestown. Follow signs for Route 202 South (Norristown & Hospital) to exit the bypass. Turn right onto State Street (202 N). Continue as above.
