To be eligible for the Grand Champion Award, participant must have a minimum of 1 (one) Gold medal with the highest overall points accumulated AND there must be at least FIVE (5) competitors to qualify for the Champion Award and recognition. 4-5 Grand Champions from 1 st 1-2 Grand Champions from 2 nd 1-2 Grand Champions from 3 rd No 4 th Competition Winning School: The school with the highest overall points will be awarded beautifully embroidered velvet Association winner flag. The winning school will keep the Flag until the next tournament year, at which time the winning school will render it to the new winning school. If a school wins the flag three consecutive years, they will keep the flag permanently. Ex) DBN belt with no stripe is 0, DBN belt with one stripe is 1, DBN belt with 5 stripes is 5, etc. ** Stripe Belts are permitted and will compete in their appropriate RANK division (e.g. Yellow Stripe Belt at WHITE division, Blue Stripe Belt at YELLOW division, etc). The same rule applies for any extra stripes or tabs on the WKSA official ranking belts. TECHNIQUES Empty hand techniques to be performed with a partner, before a panel of judges. The partner must fall correctly, and falling is mandatory. Ask your instructor for the rank & age requirements for partnering. NOTES ON DIVISIONS SWORD AND STAFF Black belts may enter both staff and sword division. If you enter both, they will be considered two separate divisions. No live (sharp) blades. Staff must be free from any decorations. Only official WKSA sword is allowed for this division. Adults Black Belt competitors are required to wear the official WKSA's THE GENERAL uniform for all Weapons Divisions.
