1 SOUTH WEST TAE KWON-DO CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNDAY 3 rd FEBRUARY 2019 Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, Hutton Moor Road, Weston-super-Mare, BS22 8LY JUNIOR COMPETITORS TO ARRIVE BY 9.30 AM, ADULT COMPETITORS TO ARRIVE BY 11:30 AM The divisions are as follows: - Up to & including 15 years old (no cadets divisions) ADULTS - 16 years & over (no executives divisions). All sparring divisions will be combined as follows: 9th kup to 5th kup spar together, 4th kup to 1st kup spar together, black belts together. CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES ALL ENTRIES MUST BE GIVEN TO MR MARTIN BY MONDAY 21 ST JANUARY AT THE LATEST. CHEQUES SHOULD BE MADE PAYABLE TO: BRISTOL TAEKWONDO SCHOOLS. Students Guide To Entering TAGB Competitions BEFORE ENTERING:- Please make sure that:- You have a current T.A.G.B. / B.T.C. Licence. You are training regularly and understand what is expected of you. You are wearing a White TAGB suit, a current TAGB National suit or a TAGB Tiger suit. You have a full set of correctly fitting TAGB sparring equipment. (i.e. boots, shin guards, groin guards (for men and boys) gloves, headguard and gum shield) with no rips or tears. You have transport to the venue and you arrive on time. Note: All sparring competitors may wear forearm protectors in addition to their regulation TAGB sparring equipment. HOW TO ENTER: - Competitors All competitors, juniors or adults, whether competing in sparring or patterns or both, must complete a competition entry form. The forms can be obtained from your instructor, and must be completed as requested and handed over to your instructor before the closing date stated. PRICES - **ENTRY FEES ARE NON REFUNDABLE COMPETITORS (Adults & Juniors) 15 per event (i.e. 3 events 45.00) paid in advance, with an entry form. Tag Team: per 3 person team; to be paid & entered on the day. All competitors make sure you are the correct grade as stated on your entry form. SPECTATORS 10 (under 16) Make sure you are the correct height for your division. You will be height tested on the day and if you are not in the correct height division you will be disqualified from that division. All children competing at the British Championships will be given a certificate marking their participation in this national event.

2 ADULTS (16 years +) Make sure that you are the correct weight for the division you want to compete in. You will be weighed in on the day, and if you are not within your entered weight division you will be disqualified from that division you can then ask to enter the correct division for your weight/height but you will need to pay 15 to enter again. ALL COMPETITORS: You will receive a competitor s ticket or wristband from your instructor which must be taken to the competition. Do not forget or lose this ticket/band. If you forget or lose this ticket you will have to pay the spectators fee of 10 to gain access to the competition. SPECTATORS Spectator s tickets must be purchased in advance and will be sold on a first come first served basis it will NOT be possible to purchase tickets on the door. Please enter the number of spectator tickets you require onto the entry form. OFFICIALS Those wishing to officiate; If you are competing you CANNOT officiate at this event. YOU MUST apply online to officiate at this event go to and click on the link for official registration. Officials must be Black Belts who have attended at least part 2 of the TAGB umpires course. Officials must wear the official t-shirt (or plain black T-shirt if you haven t received the official one yet) with smart grey or black trousers and sports shoes. NOT SHIRT & TAGB TIE. All officials MUST bring their BLACK BELT LICENCE BOOK FOR STAMPING TO RECORD THEIR ATTENDANCE. YOU MUST ARRIVE BY 9:00 A.M. OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PAY TO ENTER. You must ensure your black book has your latest current licence slip in it see Mr Martin to get it if yours has been renewed recently. ON THE DAY OF THE COMPETITION NO SPECTATORS ARE ALLOWED AROUND THE COMPETITION AREAS THEY MUST BE SEATED IN THE SEATS PROVIDED, OR THEY MAY BE ASKED TO LEAVE THE HALL. NO VIDEO/CAMERAS PERMITTED ANYWHERE ON THE COMPETITION AREA. The competition will start with the patterns events, first with the juniors and some designated cadet and adult divisions. Each competition area will be allocated with an area number that will be indicated by the number on the tablecloth and a numbered signpost. There will also be a coloured sign, signifying the belt colour and category of the current division, situated underneath the numbered signpost at head high level. Listen out for an announcement of the start of your division on an allocated area over the Public Address System. (You can also check the running order, which may be displayed on a plasma screen somewhere in the hall, when available.) All juniors will be height tested before the sparring competition starts at an allocated area (i.e. all yellow belt boys, all heights). All cadets & adults will be weighed in before they spar at the allocated area for that division. Failure to be height tested / weighed in will result in a competitor not being entered for the sparring event (if they are competing in the sparring event). You must make sure that you are in the right competition area at the right time; If you are unsure, then you must ask your instructor or an official. Please note that the officials will ask competitors the name of their club this will be either Bristol North or Bristol South parents especially please ensure your children know the name of their club. 3 All divisions other than juniors (see below) may be weighed on the day and if you are not within your entered weight division you will be disqualified. All divisions medals awarded 1 X Gold, 1 X Silver, 2 X Bronze MEN To be held over 1 x 2 minute round Coloured belts: Yellow/Green together point stop. Blue/Red together continuous. WELTERWEIGHT LADIES To be held over 1 x 2 minute round Up to and including 64KG Over 64KG and including 72KG Over 72KG and including 80KG Over 80KG Coloured belts: Yellow/Green together point stop. Blue/Red together continuous. Up to and including 55KG Over 55KG and including 65KG Over 65Kg Up to and incl 15yrs. To be held over 1 x 1.5 minute round. Boys and girls separate. Coloured belts: Yellow/Green together point stop. Blue/Red together point stop. PEE WEE Up to & incl 137cm Over 137cm and including 152cm Over 152cm and including 168cm Over 168cm N.B. Juniors will be height tested on the day and if you are not in the correct height division you will be disqualified.

4 PATTERNS All competitors may only perform a pattern of their grade (not above). ADULTS Divisions are Yellow (yellow stripe/yellow/green stripe), Green, Blue, Red, Black 1 (1 st Dans), Black 2+. Male and females in separate divisions. Up to & incl 15yrs old, Boys and Girls separate divisions. Yellow stripe/yellow belt/green stripe together, then Green Belt, Blue Belt, Red Belt, Black Belt all dan grades together. MEDALS AWARDED: 1 x Gold, 1 x Silver, 1 x Bronze. TAG TEAM EVENT ALL TEAM EVENTS WILL START AFTER THE INDIVIDUAL COMPETITIONS. RULES OF TAG TEAM : Teams will consist of 3 competitors, bouts will last for 4 minutes the team with the most points will be the winner. Each time the bout is stopped you can change with a member of your team by tagging you team member s glove. All 3 members must fight at some stage during the bout. All matches will be point stop. DIVISIONS IN TAG TEAM : MEN: No Weights. YELLOW-GREEN-BLUE Belts together, RED-BLACK Belts together WOMEN: No Weights.
