3 USAMA Grand Nationals Officials & More Information! Trophies: Beautiful Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place individual events; Medallions for 4th Place. Medals for all Youth Forms competitors; Medallions for all Team Events Grand Champion Trophies will be awarded for Black Belt Forms, Adult Kyu Forms, Youth Beginning Forms, Youth Intermediate Forms, Youth Advanced Forms, Black Belt Men Koshiki, Black Belt Weapons, Adult Kyu Weapons, Youth Weapons, Black Belt Men Sparring, & Black Belt Women Sparring. Finals Competitors will consist of: All 1st Place Forms Winners; All 1st Place Weapons Winners; 1st Place Adult Black Belt Men Koshiki Winners; & 1st Place Adult Black Belt Sparring Winners will be competing for 11 Beautiful Grand Champion Awards! Top 2 Adult Black Belt Sparring Teams will Fight for 1 st and 2 nd Places at Finals. Competitor Equipment/Attire: Mandatory Forms & Weapons Attire: Must wear uniform which is traditional with respect to his/her style. Mandatory Sparring Equipment: Dipped Foam Headgear, Handgear, & Footgear (No Ringstar Shoes); Mouthpiece; Groin Protection (All males). Uniforms must cover elbows. Mandatory Koshiki Gear: Mouthpiece; Groin protection (All males) Headgear and Chest Protector will be provided at ring. Prohibited items in Sparring & Koshiki: For the safety of our competitors, No Metal or hard plastic joint braces, plaster or fiberglass casts, will be allowed. No regular eyeglasses allowed, however, safety sport goggles are allowed. Medical devices must be approved by medical personnel and Chief Referee. Disqualification: A competitor may be disqualified for excessive contact, illegal techniques, or unsportsmanlike conduct and not be entitled to a refund or allowed to fight in any further events that day. Coaches and Spectators' unsportsmanlike conduct may also be cause for a competitor s disqualification. Judges Meetings: Dr. Rick Fields, 9 th Dan Medical Personnel Ralph Glasmann, 5 th Dan Medical Personnel Lee Kittell is our Chief Referee. He will be conducting our Judges Meetings on Friday & Saturday mornings at 10:00 am just as we begin the tournament. All aspects of the rules will be addressed for Forms, Weapons, and Sparring. Judges Attire for Tournament: Traditional martial arts uniform, dress pants or skirt with white shirt or USAMA polo shirt, or suit during the competition. We appreciate your professionalism.
