2 Provincial Compulsory Program: General Information Article 1: Program 1.1 The Provincial Program consists of five categories of competition: Level 1 through Levels 1 and 2 follow a compulsory exercise program. This document describes this program 1.3 Levels 3, 4 and 5 follow an optional exercise program as described in the document Ontario Provincial Levels 3, 4 and 5 Rules Article 2: Competitive Age Competitive Level Age Groups Level Level Furthermore, see Ontario Provincial Levels 3, 4 and 5 Rules Article 3: Modifications and Committee Responsibilities 3.1 These regulations must be used for all Ontario Provincial Level events 3.2 Clarifications for the Provincial Program may take place several times over the competition year - usually after a competition. Clarifications will be circulated to all clubs and will be posted on the GO Website Article 4: Competitive Regulations and Equipment Specifications See Ontario Provincial Levels 3, 4 and 5 Rules Article 5: Evaluation of the Exercises and Routine Construction 5.1 E-Score (Exercise Presentation) i. Every event has a potential start value of stick bonus. Base scores are plus a bonus skill for 0.3, potential virtuosity for up to 0.2, and a stick bonus of 0.1. ii. Apparatus and behavior violations, extra swings, out of bounds, insufficient hold parts, etc. will be deducted as per FIG. iii. Aesthetic and basic form errors, angular deviation, extra steps, etc. will be deducted as follows. Error Small 0.1 Medium 0.2 Large 0.3 Fall 0.5 Deduction 5.2 Apparatus Deductions i. Apparatus s are additional specific errors outside of the FIG Code of Points and are effective within this rule-set only. Each of these specific apparatus s will be deducted as one medium error, 0.2, per infraction. 5.3 Performance Expectations
3 i. Performance expectations provide more detail about execution requirements and s such as required body positions and modified angular deviations. Any errors associated with performance expectations will be deducted as per all applicable E-score s. 5.4 Reference Images i. Reference images provide information about how elements are to be evaluated. ii. The techniques depicted in the pictures are not required nor are alternative techniques deducted; as long as they meet all execution requirements. 5.5 Hold Parts and Element Variations i. As per FIG, required holds must be held for minimum 2s. Momentary holds are defined as a definite controlled stop, for up to 1s. ii. Holding elements where not required is permitted, however, balance checks or lack of rhythm may result in execution s. This includes swings to handstand on parallel bars. iii. In some instances, gymnasts are permitted to perform variations of the compulsory elements. Variations are listed under performance expectations and have no additional value, nor do they incur s for adding a skill. Where variations of transitions are permitted, applicable E- score s apply. 5.6 Missing Elements and Transitions i. Compulsory elements will be recognized as they are executed in chronological order only. ii. An element is considered missing if it has been omitted or is performed in such a way as to be unrecognizable. Missing elements will result in loss of the listed value. iii. Some boxes include several elements in one box. Where the value of each element is not specifically identified, missing one or more elements in a box will result in the loss of the entire value of that box. iv. Simple transitions between elements have not been assigned any value, however, each missing transition will result in a of one large error, Extra Elements or Swings i. As per FIG, extra swings will be deducted 0.3 per extra half swing and 0.5 per extra full swing. Extra swings will not count as adding extra elements. ii. Adding elements to a compulsory routine will incur a of 0.5 for each infraction. 5.8 Repetition i. During the performance of any routine, except Vault, a gymnast may repeat any non-dismount element, for value, if they fall on that element. ii. Immediately after their first vault, a gymnast may elect to attempt a 2 nd vault with a penalty of 0.5 from the final score. The score for the 2 nd vault will be the final counting score. 5.9 Dismounts and Landings i. A stick bonus of 0.1 will apply to all events. ii. The maximum cumulative landing will be 0.5 for all events. This does not include additional s which may be taken for zone violations on Floor or Vault Bonus i.
