The 2012 World Championship will include three days of competition, displaying all our competition systems (Duo, Fighting & Ne-Waza), and the tournament will be accompanied by the annual General Assembly and the Technical Congress. The event will be held at the Budocenter Vienna and the JJIF General Assembly will be held at the Austria Trend Hotel Bosei near the venue. Austria is located in Europe s center and offers its visitors a wide range of cultural and historical wealth. In giving this event a special Austrian flair we try to introduce you to the culture of our country. As president of the Jiu Jitsu Federation Austria it is important for me that your visit and participation at this event will be under fair and reasonable prices and conditions. 6 3. Venue Budocenter Vienna (Gutheil-Schoder-Gasse 9; 1100 VIENNA, AUSTRIA) 4. Hotels The official hotels are: Hotel Bosei, Gutheil-Schoder-Gasse 7b, 1100 Vienna Hotel Arion, Hintschigasse 1, 1100 Vienna Both Hotels are located within walking distance from the venue. JJIF Board Meeting, Technical Congress and General Assembly will take place in Hotel Bosei. We offer you the luxury of upper star hotels at a most reasonable price. It is important for you to know that the reservations are going through Jiu Jitsu Federation Austria, it is not possible to make reservations to the hotel directly. Please understand that pre-booking has to be done far in advance. A short term storno is not possible without significant cancellation fees. If a team therefore decides to use different accommodation, an extra charge of EUR per person will be charged. 5. Transport The JJVOE has arranged transport from the airport to the official hotels and back to the airport for all participants, who stay at the official hotels. Please contact the organizers concerning arrivals and provide them exact information about your arrival and departure (means of transport, time and date of arrival, flight number etc.), so they can organize everything on time. The registration form is attached in the appendix and as well available online under 6. Right to participate and categories a. Presented and registered by their national federation with settled annual fee and other financial conditions to the JJIF; b. Maximum two fighters/couples per category from each JJIF member state, within the limit of 10 men and 7 women in the fighting-system and 4 duo-couples per nation. Two competitors for each ne-waza category are allowed per nation, which means a maximum of 10 participants in ne-waza per nation. c. Competitors must have the minimum age of 18 years! d. All competitors must have a legal passport and sports passport of their respective nation! e. It is allowed to participate in the fighting and/or duo system and/or ne-waza-system at the same competition, but maximum in two different disciplines per competition if they are physically capable to do so. This decision (and liability) is on the competitor and his/her 6

7 coach; the competition will not be delayed waiting for a competitor involved in another fight. One person is only allowed to take part at maximum two categories/disciplines. WADA anti doping rules will be enforced. If there are any medical exceptions which could cause problems at a potential anti doping test, the national federation of the competitor is obligated to have a medical certificate about the medical exception. This information must be provided to organiser before the event starts. Participants to the Assembly and Technical Congress Maximum two people per country are allowed to attend the technical congress, with only one (the national delegate) with the right to vote, provided that their federation is up to date with its financial obligations with the JJIF/JJEU. Each national delegate must have a signed proxy from his/her national federation. 8. Ju-Jitsu-gi and protectors All competitors must have and use white Ju-Jitsu-gi according to the JJIF rules for official competition. Participants have to take their Ju-Jitsugi to Hotel Bosei for sewing. Soft hand and foot protections in proper colour; mouthpiece and jockstrap are required; chest protectors for female competitors (fighting system) are recommended. 9. Advertising Please observe the regulations of the JJIF as far as advertising on the Gi is concerned. Please note that during the championship no numbers on the back of the Ju-Jitsugi are allowed unless specified by the organizer. Numbers on the back of previous tournaments must be removed from the Ju- Jitsugi. 10. Referees Attention: only the referees qualified through the JJIF Referee committee may participate as referees at the championship. The information about qualified referees will be sent out by the Referee committee. For more details see Each country should provide minimum 1 referee for up to 6 participants, 2 for up to 14 participants, and 3 for 15 or more. An amount of EUR has to be paid, should a team not have the right number of referees indicated in the registration form. This rule doesn t apply to new members during the first 3 years. Registration fee for not having referees at the championship will be paid according to the new JJIF Financial rules accepted by 2010/2011 General Assembly. Referees should attend the official briefing meeting on Thursday afternoon. However, if there won t be enough referees for the competition to take place in good conditions, JJIF may decide to 7

8 complement the pool of referees with national referees of the organizing federation this is decided by the JJIF. The referees will be invited by JJIF. The costs will be fully covered by JJIF (with the referee fee paid by the national federations). 11. Combat rules and draw: JJIF competition rules, organisation and sporting code of JJIF. We make an appeal to all participants to respect fair-play and the JJIF ethics code and the JJIF anti-doping rules (WADA code)! Competition organised by table with all participants getting a second chance Computer program, approved by JJIF. Draw will be made by JJIF sports director and responsible official from the national federation and JJIF technical officers The draw will be done on Thursday for the entire championship and it is final! If a competitor will not have the correct weight at weighing or the birth dates are not correct he/she will stay in a pool/table but will automatically loose the match no changes will be made to the draw and no refund because of not fulfilling conditions for participation when already registered. There will be no second draw. General mistakes discovered at the draw but before the draw is actually done can be corrected by JJIF officials (such as wrong names, persons with similar names put in wrong categories etc. Ideas to put competitors in a higher category at the draw will not be accepted). Finalists from the previous championship may not be in the same pool (if that is indicated at the draw); If by any chance in the second fights (repasage) the same fighters meet again, automatic change to the pool is done by the head of competition. 12. Appeal Committee of the event The Appeal Committee of the event consists of JJIF sports director JJIF referee director head of the local organizer Any member of the appeal committee is to be excluded from the decision making if the participant involved is from the same country. An appeal fee of EUR must be paid to the JJIF treasurer before the appeal is filed (the fee is going to be returned if the appeal is successful). The appeal must be filed immediately after the situation occurs (the appeal is to be announced verbal and filed on paper) so the organizer may halt the competition to prevent the appealed situation to continue. The decision of the appeal committee is final. 8

9 13. Anti-doping Control WADA anti-doping-rules will be enforced (for fighting, duo and ne-waza system). If there are any medical exceptions which could cause problems at a potential anti-doping-test, the national federation of the competitor is obligated to have a medical certificate about the medical exception. This information must be provided to the organizer before the event starts. 14. Trophies The first three in each category receive a medal. At the end of the competition there will be a trophy for the best three countries per system. Extra trophies for the fastest fight in fighting and in ne waza. An extra trophy for the fight with the highest difference in points in duo system. 15. Liability Neither the organizers of the event, nor the national federation (or any of its officials or members) will be liable or responsible for any personal injury, nor for any loss or damage of any property arising out of participating and travelling in connection with this championship. Coaches and team leaders are responsible to make sure that all participants are physically fit, prepared and capable to cope with the championship. We strongly recommend proper medical and accident insurance. 16. Video/ live stream of the event A live stream of the event will be provided via the official website of the event: Visa support and invitations Should your national team require an official invitation from the Jiu Jitsu Federation Austria for getting visas for travelling to the WC 2012, please send a list of all registered team members containing the following information to Raphaela Freudenberger (wm2012@jjvoe.at): - Name and postal address of your national ju jutsu federation - Full name of all registered team members - Birth dates of all registered team members - Passport numbers of all registered team members After receiving all required data from you, Raphaela Freudenberger will send you an official invitation letter from the Jiu Jitsu Federation Austria via . She will also inform the Austrian representation in your country about your participation at the WC

Flags and Anthems Don t forget to check the flag and anthem of your country with the organizer when you arrive. We suggest that you bring with you your national anthem (short version) to avoid any possible problems. 19. Charges JJIF Registration fees Duo: EUR per couple Fighting: EUR per competitor Ne-Waza: EUR per competitor Referee expenses: EUR /EUR 1,600.00/EUR 2, Accommodation including half board (breakfast, dinner), as well as party (instead of the gala dinner, drinks not included), per person per night: Hotel Bosei Arion Hotel single room EUR EUR double room EUR EUR triple or quad room EUR Gala dinner: Instead of a gala dinner we offer you a party with special Austrian Heurigen - flair. The price per guest is EUR (for those only, where departure is Dec. 2 nd, and for those who are not booked in the officially recognized hotels), drinks are not included. All Persons staying in the official hotels and leaving after December 2 nd don t have to pay for the party, but have to register for it until October 13 th, 2012) All charges must be paid until October 30 th, 2012 to organizers bank account (the date on the confirmation of payment or when the transfer was presented at the bank). Penalty fee for not respecting the deadline to payment is EUR per person. 11 20. Registration Final registration in written form until October 13 th, 2012, including the registrations for the party. Separate registration forms for the official hotels and for the competition will be sent together with the 2 nd invitation and are available on the official WC-website as well. The registration is final what means that you have to pay for all required rooms and registered competitors even if you don t use the rooms/bring the registered number of persons. 21. Extra event International Training Camp This camp will be for competitors, coaches and referees. If you are interested to attend this camp, please inform us as soon as possible. Decision whether this event takes place or not, is dependent upon the number of registrants. Please ask JJIF Sports director Joachim Thumfart for further information. 11
