This tournament will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the SHUMAN RECREATION CENTER, located at 800 Tupelo Trail, Hinesville, GA Poomse competition will start at 9:00 A.M. followed by Sparring. Door registration begins at 8:15 A.M. Cash ONLY, and ends at 11:00 AM. If you bring 18 or more competitors, you will receive a 2 night complimentary stay at hotel. Must register at la Quinta Inn (912) All competitors and coaches must be registered by the due date, September 1st, 2015 to receive these complimentary items. We hope you will add us to your tournament calendar. This tournament is fun, safe and exciting for everyone, regardless of skill level. We will only accept certified checks or money orders. This year the 2015 Liberty Taekwondo Championship will welcome players from FL, GA, SC, NC, TN, KY, VA, NY, AZ,TX and PR.. It will give competitors an opportunity to compete against top competitors under quality conditions. We are proud to say that we expect some excellent competition. It is suggested that all competitors go to to pre purchase E- socks. We are pleased to officially extend this invitation to all the Armed Forces Taekwondo family. Protective gear: chest protector, headgear, shin-instep pads, forearm pads, mouthpiece, and groin cup (male) must be worn to compete. No eyeglasses or safety glasses of any kind will be permitted for sparring. Failure to have the appropriate equipment when called to the ring may result in a penalty. Modified: USAT rules apply to this tournament. Rules can be downloaded at SPARRING DIVISIONS: Sparring divisions will be divided by age, belt, and weight. NOTE: NOTE: All black belts, and coaches, should attend the referee meeting to be held at 8:15 A.M. Referees will get paid if they stay until the tournament is over. White forearm and shin/instep protectors, mouth pieces, chest protectors and headgear are mandatory. Protective athletic cup is mandatory for male sparring competitors. Only plastic water bottles are allowed in the arena. No eyeglasses or safety glasses of any kind will be permitted for sparring. Scoring The valid points are divided as follows: 1 point for a valid attack on trunk protector (Hogu) 3 points for a valid turning kick to the trunk protector (Spinning Back Kick, Back Kick) 3 points for a valid kick to the head 4 points for a valid turning kick to the head (Spinning Back Kick or Tornado Kick) 1 point will be add for every two KYUNG-GO or one GAM-JOM from the opponent. 6
