Background of this article: Our classmate in Hong Kong, Daniel Ting had diagnosis of colon cancer and go through the chemotherapy (totally 12 visits) last year. He joked himself of learning Kam Chung Cau 12 levels Kung Fu during the whole treatment process. To diversify his attention on treatment, I tried my best to support him by ing with him. Base on his approach, I titled 30 of my classmates with a Kung Fu based on what I remembered and knew about them. To make the communication continue, I used these 30 characters to set up a story in Wu Lam. All the followings are my created story targeted to please my poor classmate. Sing Wah is the name of my Form One Class Club. 1. Juana-- Yuen Yeung Knives (She has both law degree and information officer in her career) 2. Bonnie-- Saint Abacus (She probably will know the tiny difference of grocery prices of different supermarkets after being a full time housewife) 3. Eleanor-- Iron Face Coach (She was my teacher of my coaching of primary school volleyball team) 4. Grace-- Queen Drug (Being worked as a nurse, probably we can find 20 kind of drugs in her pocket any day any time) 5. Viola-- West Sea Holy Mom (She is now a mom and living in England and being a religious person) 6. Teresa-- Tai Chi= Four Liang move thousand Gan (Not long ago, she forwarded us a lot of meaningful s and photos) 7. Margaret-- Children Gong (Being worked as a principle in a kindergarten, she can generate and utilize an unpredictable amount of children's power in her Internal Gong) 8. Priscilla-- Lion Roar (She shouted when being woke up by Mr. Koo in his Chinese History in F.5) 9. Sabrina-- Kitchen Saint (Being in charged of a chain restaurant in the airport, who will question on her taste) 10. Wendy-- Net Flyer (Being the HW Volleyball team striker, she could fly along (not over) the net) 11. Timmy-- Medicine Saint (He is studying and testing Chinese medicines and be careful with his acupuncture needles)

2 12. Elvis Iron Er Wu (He always play with his Er Wu, so it must be a very powerful weapon) 13. Stephen Tsui-- Mighty Toad (He doubled his size after 1979, he will become Super Mighty Toad if he make it triple) 14. Jimmy Wong Sky Nest Ground Net Hand (He was crowned King of Mahjong in year 1980, so not even birds can fly away from his defense) 15. David Wong Thousand Faces of Forever Young (No matter how he changed his appearance, he can always make it the youngest of us and always) 16. Francis Official Shaolin King Fu (He studied in a Buddhist primary school for six years, left the mountain by passing through Wooden Men Corridor and achieved a certificate of graduation) 17. Stephen Yau (Arnold)-- Ci Yin Gong (He is the most muscular classmate and his chest likely can turn a block of granite into dust) 18. Richard-- Tribe leader of 40 Doors (He was our first class monitor so he had learned 40 sets of different inherited Kung Fu) 19. Wesley Paired Judge Brushes (He studied both Chinese and Fine Arts in CUHK, so his Chinese calligraphy brush and paint brushes are unbeatable) 20. Tony-- Road Runner (He always won 60m and 100m in the sports day among us so he was once the man who can run the fastest) 21. Daniel Mo Dick Sword (Since he is upgrading himself with Kam Chung Cau, he can get the title of Zeus or Ting Yung if prefer to write but not participate into the chaotic River and Lake) 22. Sammy Tong s Thousand Hands darts (Tong s Door was well known by its darts weapon for centuries since Tso Tat Wah s years) 23. Hampton Mi Chung (A Tibetan Buddhism) Big Palms (Being long term volleyball enthusiast and expert in electrical wiring, his palms are 10% bigger than a regular ones) 24. Simon -- Mo Dick Wind Fire Wheels (Once he used his racecar to drive us back Tsz Wan Shan from Lai Yuen in less than 15 minutes. I could feel my heart had jumped to my throat and my right hand could not be separated from the door handle when I got off with shaking legs) 25. Sunny-- Soul Copying Magic (He can catch the facial characteristics of anyone in 10 seconds and sketch out a 99.9% similarity cartoon portrait in 1 minute) 26. Norman -- Dragon Phoenix Sword (His marriage is the best match of all: doctor and nurse, handsome and beautiful, Cantonese and Mandarin) 27. Jacquline 999 Years Queen (She just need 1 more to be perfect since she was ranked no. 2 in the classmates order list) 28. Vincent -- Hulk (He is the tallest and size biggest classmate of us, sometimes I

3 wonder the author of Hulk had copied Vincent s figure into his comic book) 29. Josephine -- Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth (Her speech could really move thousand of people when she was serving as Chairlady of Student Union) 30. Paul Tsui -- Super Magnet (His song Tell Laura I Love You had attracted all our girl classmates so much that they all have an impulse to change their names to Laura) To All Roads of Heroes: You are cordially invited to join the International Mo Lam Heroes Meeting. There are 30 heroes and heroines in the Sing Wah Mo Lam and I know the Kung Fu of each one is special and outstanding. No doubt. It is not easy to determine what to test without bias to anybody. Since we don t want to create any hate or wounds when competing for the crown of legendary leader, the best way is to compete with the Olympic spirit faster, higher and stronger. How to enroll? Here we shortlist 21 events below for you to join. You should sign in for one event from the list of event for first round and to me before September 20. If you don t response, I will set up the matches by random picking and announce it. The process of random picking will be open, fair and be broadcasted through channel 101 of New York City on September 25. The game will be broadcasted through Internet with the detail description from me. Those advanced to Round Two will pick their favorite event from category of gymnastics. Those advanced to Further Rounds will pick their favorite event from category of Track and Field. How is the winner to be determined? All 30 participants can vote for the winner in all games even in the game that he competes and send their vote (with reasons) to me through . I collect all points and announce the winner to advance. If the points are even for both competitors, I have the final vote. Prize and award: Free plane ticket around the world in 80 days (after get the sponsorship from Jackie Chan) Golden crown of Mo Lam Legendary Leader (to be kept for 1 year). 6 Results of Round One Opponents Yuen Yeung Knives (Juana) vs Official Shaolin Kung Fu (Francis) on Badminton Shaolin Kung Fu claimed to be source of all Kung Fu, it included Kung Fu in receiving darts. The badminton birdy is so light and the racket is so big, so he is difficult to be defeated in badminton. On the other side, since Yuen Yeung Knives cannot concentrate on the game because she has too many houses (at least two) to take care. When she realized a pretty reporter of TVB is interviewing her husband, she lost the game point. Therefore, the winner is Shaolin Kung Fu. Saint Abacus (Bonnie) vs Queen Drug (Grace) on Modern pentathlon Modern pentathlon includes shooting, riding, swimming, running and fencing. Queen Drug wins the games of swimming and running because she has secret but official drugs to improve her muscles. Saint Abacus wins the games of shooting and riding because she can calculate the best winning strategies. The final winner is determined from the event of fencing. Since Saint Abacus has skills of dancing and volleyball, so she can defense herself better than Queen Drug. Therefore, the winner is Saint Abacus Mo Dick Sword (Daniel) vs Soul Copying Magic (Sunny) on Triathlon Triathlon includes swimming, biking and running. Basically, the strength of Soul Copying Magic performs better on the events of one-on-one contact, so then he can take away the soul of his opponent. Too bad, he is put into this event that there is no direct contact between opponents. Mo Dick Sword is strong because he is now learning KCC. The audience sees only big wave on the water, big dust on the biking trail and strong wind on the running track. Therefore, the winner is Mo Dick Sword Lion Roar (Priscilla) vs Ci Yin Gong (Arnold) on Fencing In the game of fencing, there is no rule of keeping the mouth shut. Lion Roar takes this advantage so she shouts loud to impact Ci Yin Gong. Ci Yin Gong is strong only in muscle that is no use on fencing because whenever a hit is a point. It turns out, Ci Yin Gong is not flexible enough to defense himself because of too noisy when fencing and he loses the game. Therefore, the winner is Lion Roar. Kitchen Saint (Sabrina) vs Tong s Thousand Hands darts (Sammy) on Tennis Tong s darts are famous but he is disqualified because the judge finds he uses his thousand hands to catch the tennis ball instead of returning the ball to the opposite court. On the other hand, since Kitchen Saint plays with the cooking pans a lot so she is very used to the tennis racket.

7 Therefore, the winner is Kitchen Saint. Medicine Saint (Timmy) vs Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth (Josephine) on Diving The scoring of diving relies on how the athletes enter the water. The one with fewer splashes will win the game. Since Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth is so streamlined on her head, that can make no splash at all when diving into water, she achieves a very high score. After reading all of his medicine books, Medicine Saint finds no medicine can hold him longer in the air before entering water. Therefore, the winner is Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth. Tribe leader of 40 Doors (Richard) vs Net Flyer (Wendy) on 400 m swimming medley Swimming medley required the competitors to swim four different styles, which favor the Tribe Leader of 40 Doors because he has 40 different skills to use. He can use Tsui s Toad style on Breast Style swimming and Tam s on Freestyle swimming. Even Net Flyer can fly at every pool turns, it only minimizes the gap of fallen behind. Therefore, the winner is Tribe Leader of 40 Doors. Iron Face Coach (Eleanor) vs Road Runner (Tony) on Tae kwon do Tae Kwon Do requires very fast movement and very strong legs to kick. When compare the legs of two opponents, Road Runner is surely win over Iron Face Coach. Iron Face Coach is strong only on those net-separated games like volleyball or table tennis. Therefore, the winner is Road Runner. Mighty Toad (Stephen Tsui) vs Hulk (Vincent) on Horse riding Basically, both sides are equally bad in the horse riding skill. The winning factor stands on the performance of the horses. Since Hulk is too big and heavy, the horse is dying after a few miles. On the other hand, Mighty Toad inflates himself like a balloon so release the weights on the horse so it can finish the entire race. Therefore, the winner is Mighty Toad. Mo Dick Wind Fire Wheels (Simon) vs Super Magnet (Paul) on Cycling Mo Dick Wind Fire Wheels is lucky to compete in the game of cycling that is similar to a racing car. Since he gets used to high speed, he doesn t feel any sick of cycling at 200km per hour. Super Magnet performs disastrous on cycling as all other bikes are bumped together because of the strong magnetic field. Therefore, the winner is Mo Dick Wind Fire Wheels. West Sea Holy Mom (Viola) vs Paired Judge Brushes (Wesley) on Sailing The Holy Mom lives at West Sea, so her sailing skill is not bad. Moreover, since she is holy,

8 she can request the favor from Mr. Wind. It turns out, her sailing boat is sailing like a motor boat. The Paired Judge Brushes aren t good at water game; the two brushes are not appropriate for boat paddling. Therefore, the winner is West Sea Holy Mom. Tai Chi (Teresa) vs Children Gong (Margaret) on Boxing Boxing required fast movement and heavy strike. The heavier boxer usually comes with stronger strike. Children Gong is heavier than Tai Chi and most importantly; her Children Gong gives her fast movement like kids. Tai Chi s movement is too slow so she is knocked out in third round of the game. Therefore, the winner is Children Gong. Iron Er Wu (Elvis) vs Mi Chung (Hampton) on Judo Judo required big hands to catch the clothing of the opponents. This definitely is the most favorite game for Mi Chung s Big Palm. No doubt, Iron Er Wu is no good for such kind of closed contact game. Therefore, the winner is Mi Chung Big Palm. Sky Nest Ground Net Hand (Jimmy) vs Dragon Phoenix Sword (Norman) on Canoeing Sky Nest Ground Net Hand is strong when doing something very fast while canoeing requires more on harmony of both hands rather than rapid movement. Dragon Phoenix Sword is perfect on doing slow and delicate jobs. There is one canoe running very smooth and other one with a lot of splash that slow down the canoe. Therefore, the winner is Dragon Phoenix Sword. Thousand Faces of Forever Young (David) vs 999 Years Queen (Jacqueline) on Weightlifting It is such a coincident that this is a game between 1,000 and 999. Which is bigger and stronger? Once again, 999 Year Queen is just 1 pound less than the weight lift by 1,000 Faces of Forever Young. This is a game of fate!! Therefore, the winner is 1,000 Faces of Forever Young. 9 Saint Abacus vs Tribe Leader of 40 Doors on Pommel Horse Kitchen Saint vs Dragon Phoenix Sword on Rings Lion Roar is the lucky one who can advance to the Third Round. Results of Round Two games: 1,000 Faces Forever Young vs Mighty Toad on Horizontal bar Horizontal bar is a game requires high-speed swing, non-stop and big arms, legs and abdominal muscles. Mighty Toad is strong in legs muscle and air floating because he can intake and trap air within the body. 1,000 Face Forever Young is strong in face muscles, which is no help on horizontal bar except he had showed happy face when he didn t have a firm landing. Therefore, the winner is Mighty Toad. Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth vs Road Runner on Parallel bars Parallel bars requires the competitors to perform totally away from the ground. Arms muscle is more important that others. Both competitors are not strong in arms muscle. The deciding factor was rely on the fact that Road Runner separate his legs and running in the air which ended up points had been deducted. Therefore, the winner is Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth. Mo Dick Wind Fire Wheels vs Children Gong on Balance beam The key factor on balance beam is balancing and beautiful posting. Mo Dick Wind Fire Wheels had been performing too fast so the judge didn t see it through. Children Gong performed as light and happy as a child. With good and sweet childish smile, it really helped a lot in getting a higher score. Therefore, the winner is Children Gong. Official Shao Lin Kung Fu vs Mo Dick Sword on Long horse vault Even we said justice always wins over evil. Official Shao Lin Kung Fu that represents justice is not able to win over Mo Dick Sword because Mo Dick Sword so far cannot be classified. He learned KCC very hard but undoubtedly with a little bit of crazy in his ambitious plan. Still, he is not evil at all. Though Shao Lin Kung Fu had Ladder Cloud Climbing kung fu, KCC made Mo Dick Sword performed 108 gestures within those 3 seconds in the air. Therefore, the winner is Mo Dick Sword.

10 Mi Chung Big Palms vs West Sea Holy Mom on Uneven parallel bars Mi Chung Big Palm has big palms so he can hold the uneven parallel bars very firm when swinging which is important to keep him from fallen down. The arms of West Sea Holy Mom were weakened because she had to hold her children whole night before the game. Therefore, the winner is Mi Chung Big Palms Saint Abacus vs Tribe Leader of 40 Doors on Pommel Horse The key factor of Pommel Horse is turn and turn around the pommel horse. The one knows how to turn wins the game. Saint Abacus is good at calculating including trading in foreign currencies. This kind of currencies changing skill grants her the victory over Tribe Leader of 40 Doors. 40 Doors in a house will result in wrong turns and get lost. Therefore, the winner is Saint Abacus. Kitchen Saint vs Dragon Phoenix Sword on Rings The deciding factor of this game is on the adaptation of equipment. Dragon Phoenix Sword performed very well except the landing part. What had happened was the rings after released from his hands had tied up with his dragon phoenix swords on his back. He was hanging in the air by the rings. On the other hand, since it was the last game of the Round Two, it turned out the lubrication powder was running out in the venue. Luckily, Kitchen Saint has prepared cornstarch powder so her performance was still perfect. Therefore, the winner is Kitchen Saint. Round Three Opponents: Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth vs Saint Abacus in Long Jump Kitchen Saint vs Mighty Toad in Triple Jump Mi Chung Big Palms vs Children Gong in Discus Lion Roar vs Mo Dick Sword in Javelin Results of Round Three Opponents: Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth vs Saint Abacus in Long Jump Again, due to her good mathematics and measurement, she can determine the best pace distance and angle of take off. This made Saint Abacus performed the best long jump ever in human history. Horny Teeth Sharpen Mouth didn t help much in this sport from her teeth and mouth. Therefore, the winner is Saint Abacus.

11 Kitchen Saint vs Mighty Toad in Triple Jump Toad is strong in hopping so does Mighty Toad. Triple jump requires even better legs. Though Kitchen Saint can make the best Three Cups Chicken, chicken legs are not stronger than legs of toad in jumping. Therefore, the winner is Mighty Toad. Mi Chung Big Palms vs Children Gong in Discus Mi Chung Big Palms is so lucky to be picked in this game. The bigger hand will sure hold the discus better and throw it farther. Children s hand is too small and body weight too light to compete in this sport. Therefore, the winner is Mi Chung Big Palms. Mo Dick Sword vs Lion Roar in Javelin Lion Roar s roar is powerful enough to deafen the opponent so she will win over anyone if she does the event first. Too bad, Mo Dick Sword made his first and only throw. He threw the javelin and at the same time he chased and stepped on the javelin and carried it all the way to a playground 10 miles outside the arena. Lion Roar knew it is impossible for her to beat the record, so didn t use her destructive lion roar. Therefore, the winner is Mo Dick Sword. Round Four Opponents: Mo Dick Sword vs Mighty Toad in Shot Put Saint Abacus vs Mi Chung Big Palms in 400m hurdle Round Four Opponents: Mo Dick Sword vs Mighty Toad in Shot Put Mighty Toad use his special way of shot put, that is hold the lead ball with both hands and push it out before his forehead. Since he is using his leg muscle to hop so the whole body is raised to the air and the lead ball flies over half of the football field. That is amazing. Mo Dick Sword uses his KCC power to raise the lead ball floating in the air (like the one in Shaolin Soccer) and the ball is sprang all the way towards the goal of the opposite side until it hit the frame of the goal. In fact, KCC has transformed the lead ball into a soft ball so it can

12 fly like a feather. Therefore, the winner is Mo Dick Sword. Saint Abacus vs Mi Chung Big Palms in 400m hurdles Saint Abacus calculates the best jumping angle to minimize the resistance and time of over the hurdle. She did perfectly so no hurdle is even shaken during the game. Since her physical is not as strong as her opponent, her opponent comes back from behind to make the difference very little. Both competitors are very closed at the finish line. Mi Chung Big Palms try to pull away the hurdle with his big palms that is permitted in the rules of the game. This method slows down his running pace but he is able to catch up due to the slow down of his opponent after 300m. At the 350m, Saint Abacus led 5m; at 360m, Saint Abacus led 4m; at 370m, Saint Abacus led 2m; at 380m, Saint Abacus led 1m; at 390m, Saint Abacus led 0.5m; at 395m, Saint Abacus led 0.1m; at 398m, Saint Abacus led 0.01m; at 399m, Saint Abacus led 0.001m; at the finish line, Saint Abacus is second faster than Mi Chung Big Palms. Therefore, the winner is Saint Abacus.
