The RAAF Ensign patch is worn centrally on the upper left sleeve, 10 cm below the shoulder seam or on the Velcro patch supplied on the clothing. Refer to Footnote 22 below. 20 Can be worn on both NIR and old style DPUs. 21 May only be worn by qualified IOCs and OOCs as outlined in Paragraph The RAAF Medical Badge is worn as follows: Service Dress (SD) Tunic Worn on the collars of SD Tunics, positioned centrally between the inner and outer edges of the collar with the bottom of each badge 2.5cm above the innter end of the step opening of the lapel. The staff of each badge is to be parallel to the inside (rolled) edge and midway between such edge and the outside edge of the collar. Mess Dress (MD) Jacket Worn on the collars positioned centrally between the inner and outer edges of the lapel, with the bottom of each badge 2.5cm above the inner end of the step opening of the lapel. Mess Dress (Tropical) Shirt When MD Topical (white short-sleeve shirt) is worn, the badges are positioned diagonally on the collars of the shirt. Rank Slides Officers Worn on AFB AAFC rank slides. Positioned so that the bottom of the staff of the badge is 1cm above the top (inner) row of rank braid with the staff centred parallel to the slide. Rank Slides Other Ranks Worn on AFB AAFC rank slides. Positioned so that the top of the crown of the badge is 5mm from the top edge of the rank slide.
