Our aim was to give all developing participants an opportunity to compete and meet with many other TKD practitioners. The Toronto Open has always been the event to celebrate and showcase Taekwondo for athletes of all abilities. Last year s event attracted World Class Athletes, Coaches and Referees! Many of our domestic players were tested, inspired, and realize their own potential. The quality of the competitors and teams continually define the credibility of this long running event. Kindly read the attached tournament package carefully for all details regarding registration deadlines, tournament rules, terms and conditions of participation, competition schedule, weigh-in times, and contest procedures. I understand as a condition of event participation for non residents of ONTARIO I must purchase a 1 day OTA Membership for $30 OR provide proof of my insurance information to the event organizers as a condition of participation. Athletes must provide COPY of their own insurance or purchase 1-day insurance membership. Please attach proof of insurance OR submit payment with OTA Fee selected on Registration Forms 4. I am fully aware of the risks involved and the degree of fitness required in taking part in this event. I understand that the categories in the Colour Belt & Recreational Black belt divisions are scheduled to compete on Saturday, November 15, 2014 and are grouped under discretion of the Tournament Director and OTA Officials. 7. I understand that the categories for Junior & Senior Black Belt Sparring on Sunday November 16, 2014 will be adopting Olympic Weight Categories. I understand that the categories for CADET Black Belt Sparring on Sunday, November 16, 2014 may be further categorized after completion of the weigh ins by Saturday November *NEW* Registered athletes on Sunday November 16, will NOT be eligible to register or compete in the Recreational Black Belt Sparring Divisions on Saturday November 15 th. 9. DAY 2-BLACK BELT KYORUGI ONLY - SENIOR, JUNIOR & *CADET SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2014 Cadet (12-14) Youth Olympic & Senior Olympic/17+ : WTF Rules. 3 rounds x 1.5 minute, 30 sec rest; will end match with a 12 point gap at the end of 2nd round Single Elimination with Consolation 3rd place match for semi-finalists. The KP&P Protector & Scoring System will be used. MANDATORY EQUIPMENT Day 1-All Colour and Recreational Black Belt Kyorugi athletes must provide their own white WTF style uniform, helmet, shin guards, arm guards, instep protection, groin protector (worn inside of uniform), chest protectors, mouth guard. Equipment will be on sale, on site. Day 2-Cadet, Junior & Senior athletes must provide their own white WTF style uniform/equipment.
