2 Dynasty Program: Level 3 Criteria Staggered and Square stance _ Head up _ Feet shoulder width apart _ Back straight _ Knees bent _ Elbows in _ Thumbs up _ Shoulder, Knee and toe Alignment Motion _ Short steps and don t ever cross your feet _ Maintain a good stance while moving _ Use head taps, body fakes and level _ Forward, backward, left, right and circle left and right _ changes to set your opponent off balance Starting Positions Neutral _ Handshake before and after match _ Put one foot on tape, normally your front foot Top _ Left knee is on the mat, near the down wrestlers left leg but not touching _ Right foot is behind the down wrestler s feet but not touching _ Left hand is C ed and placed on down wrestlers left elbow, thumb on the inside _ Right hand is around the waist with palm flat on the down wrestler s belly button _ Head is up with chin placed on the down wrestler s back Bottom _ Head up _ Shoelaces flat on the mat although some like their toes tucked _ Knees V ed, shoulder width _ Soft hands (Weight back on heals), arms slightly bent The Four Defensive Stops _ Head may require a level change _ Hands a simple post on the shoulders _ Arms thrusting the arm in a downward motion. Also called a down block. _ Hips Getting the hips down as quickly as possible or thrusting the hips into the attacking wrestler Sprawl _ Hips go straight down _ Hands immediately go to the head _ Chest should be on the attacking wrestler s shoulders _ Stay off your knees. You should be on your toes Ties Collar Tie: _ Cup back of neck with one hand and block body with elbow _ Inside fishhook on tricep with other hand _ Pull down on head and circle _ Forehead to forehead or Forehead to temple

3 Double Inside Tie: _ Fishhook triceps with both hands _ Head to neck/shoulder area _ Push with head; Pull in circle Snap Down _ From a Collar Tie _ Push into the wrestler _ When the wrestler pushes back into you, using your forearm apply downward pressure on the back of his head. _ As the wrestler is falling to the mat, sprawl using the technique outlined in the previous section. _ TIP: Keep your knees off the mat Cross Face and Spin Opponents Head is on the Outside _ Fingers and thumb together _ Come across the face _ Grab behind the tricep _ Lift at the elbow _ Cup the near ankle _ Throw the ankle over and drives Short Drag and Spin Opponents Head is in the Middle _ Arm comes under your body and under his the arm into the arm pit. _ Using a fish hook, grab his tricep _ Other arm reaches for the leg or the hip _ Pull and spin behind Front Head Lock Headlock Defense _ Cutoff angle and step to front _ Lower level and hips and attack thigh _ If taken to mat roll thru immediately. _ Get parallel to opponent and roll him over top. Double Leg Takedown Setup _ Use motion _ Taps the head several times _ Incorporates a level change or two as fakes to set the opponent off balance _ Apply a level change before attacking Penetrate _ Head below his opponents _ Get proper penetration. Drives the opponent backwards _ Head to the outside _ Head up and back straight during attack good position _ Hands go to the back of the calves (snake grip) Finish _ Point the foot in the direction you intend to drive the opponent _ Use head to help drive opponent _ Use power leg

5 Half Nelson _ Jam the head with the right hand _ With left hand, go under the arm and over the head reaching for the far ear _ Reach for the far wrist with right hand and pull it in close _ Turn the opponent slowly by pushing with chest _ Keep head up while turning opponent _ Release right hand from wrist and post on mat _ Adjust the left arm so that the left elbow is behind the head _ Adjust weight back so you end up chest on chest _ Finish the move off your knees, on your toes, your back arched and your head up Cradle _ Multiple options. Head Lever _ Grab wrist; pulling back while apply pressure with head and opponents tricep area. _ Isolate arm and slip head under opponents arm and explode..driving to back _ Reach reverse half _ Chest to chest on toes Turkey Bar Arm Bar Building a Base _ Elbows in _ Walk elbows back _ Wiggle & Squirm. Create Space _ Outside leg up _ Rotate back into the bent leg Half Nelson Defense: _ Head up; Look away. up and away _ Pressure down on opponents arm _ Peel hand off head _ Rotate hips Standup Inside leg _ Starts with a good base with soft hands _ Step up with the inside leg _ Left foot replaces right hand _ Left arm comes across the body _ Right hand goes to the hand around the waist _ Come up by pushing back into your opponent _ Holding onto your opponent s right hand, place it on your right hip _ Take a step with you right foot so it becomes your lead foot. _ Take your left arm and thrust it between you and your opponent as you step backwards with your left leg to face your opponent Switch _ Left hand replaces right hand _ Right knee up and right elbow to own right hip w/right arm reach for opponent s inner thigh. _ Slide left leg thru and apply pressure while scooting hips and kick around to control opponent.
