2 INTRODUCTION On February 4th, the SENIOR FOIL SATELLITE WORLD CUP TERRASSA, official championship of the fencing World Cup s international circuit, will be held. The Catalan Fencing Federation, the Ciutat de Terrassa Fencing Club and the Spanish Royal Fencing Federation, with the support of Terrassa s Council, the Catalan Sport Council and the Union of Sport Federations of Catalonia, organize this prestigious competition. This is the fifth edition of this tournament that turns to senior category and in the previous edition, which it was junior, was one competition of the circuit with more participation. Also this year wins interest hosting again a competition the next day scoring for the European U23 circuit. In this amazing place and success in the previous edition, Sunday, February 5th, we celebrate the INTERNATIONAL OPEN TERRASSA, a foil senior competition, this time in male and female form. This competition is included into the Spanish National Ranking. The inscription is open for the international fencers and men and women will be scoring in U23 European Circuit.

4 REGISTRATION SATELLITE WORLD CUP: Registration must be done by the national federations through the FIE website. INTERNATIONAL OPEN: These fencers who participate in the World Cup, must also register at the Open Sub23 if they wish to participate. Following Eurofencing rules, this fencers which have not been registered previously, will not accept to the Open. Each fencer must be registered in EFC website data base and entered on EFC website ( by the national federation. Deadline: According to rules of registration of European Confederation. ( Under 23 fencers: Born between 1994 and 2002 (inclusive). Must be in possession of the European Fencing Confederation license. Senior fencers: Born in 1993 or earlier. Must be in possession national federation license. (don t need European Fencing Confederation licence)

5 ENTRY FEE The entry fee will be paid to the competition Secretary when the fencer s confirmation will take place. WORLD CUP: 30 INTERNACIONAL OPEN: 20 REFEREE CONTRIBUTION SATELLITE WORLD CUP: The contribution of referees will be done by each country following FIE rules for Junior World Cup competitions: From 1 to 4 fencers: 0 referee From 5 to 9 fencers: 1 referee 10 or more fencers: 2 referee INTERNATIONAL OPEN International fencers: Will be by national delegations: From 1 to 4 fencers: 0 referee From 5 to 9 fencers: 1 referee 10 or more fencers: 2 referee Fencers with RFEE license: The contribution of referees will be by clubs, following the rules of contribution of referees in the TNR RFEE competitions. The deadline to book a referee in advance is January 30th. The referees shall be confirmed at the fencer s confirmation time and must be at the disposal of the Technical Directory throughout the competition. They must confirm their presence on the day of the competition at 7:30 h at the Directoir Technique.

8 TRANSPORT Transport Barcelona Airport (El Prat T1) Terrassa Unfortunately, we must inform you that this year, due to technical issues we won t be finally able to offer it. This means that you will have to organize your transport from the airport to Terrassa and back to the airport by your own means, relying in any of the many taxi companies which offer shuttle services around Barcelona. We, as Fencing Catalan Federation use to work with There are many others and all of them offer a good service. Feel free to contact any of them. You have also reliable public transport combinations (Metro to Barcelona + train to Terrassa), which is cheaper than taxi service, but which takes much longer time. We feel very sorry and apologize for the possible inconveniences this situation might have caused to you. Here we explain some public transport combinations: AEROBUS + TRAIN + BUS: the competition may be attended by using the following combination of means of transport: Aerobus (Airport Barcelona, Plaça Catalunya) Train Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya, line S1 Terrassa (Plaça Catalunya Terrassa Rambla) Bus, line 8 (Terrassa Rambla CAP Sud) TAXI: The official taxi cars in Barcelona are black and yellow and they are legally authorized to charge the fare shown in their taximeter. The journey to get to Hotel Terrassa Park takes 45 minutes, approximately.

9 Transport from Hotel Terrassa Park to Pavelló Poliesportiu Municipal de Can Jofresa (World Cup venue) The competition's official hotel is located at a distance of approximately 200 meters from the sports hall where the World Cup will be held. Therefore, the participants do not need any means of transport to get there. BAR SERVICE There will be an open bar service for the fencers and their companions on the day of the competition.
