2 Dear Fellow Grandmasters, Masters, Instructors, Coaches, and Practitioners of Taekwondo; My name is Master Miguel Paredes, Owner of Arizona Dragons Olympic Taekwondo Training Center. It is with honor and great pleasure that I extend to you my personal invitation once again to participate in the 2018 Arizona AAU Taekwondo State Qualifier Championship. Participants who place first through eighth (1-8) in this event will qualify to represent their home State at the AAU National Championship Games and the prestigious USA/AAU Junior Olympic Games. Our tournament will be on February 24, 2018 at The, 400 E. Apache Blvd. Tempe, AZ Early-Registration must be received by February 16, You must also be a registered AAU member or officiate to be able to participate in the National Championship or the Junior Olympic. Everyone is invited to participate in the 2018 Arizona AAU State Qualifier Championship. AAU Coaches must have taken the online Coach s Certification Course at ( There will no longer be a coach s seminar at this event, as all the information is online. The referee seminar will be held at The on February 23, 5:00 p.m. The fiscal year began September 1, Only Competitors will be allowed in the Staging area. This will eliminate the staging area process and not make unnecessary wait for long hours for the competitors. We will be staging a total of 6 to 8 rings. Three (3) of those rings will be assigned only to Black Belts (DEADO SYSTEM either G1 or G2). We are excited to inform you all that we will be having a 3 vs. 3 Tag Team Tournament (Black Belts Only). Price: 1 st Place $ (Each Division, Minimum 3 Teams must participate to get the price). 3 Tournament Information Sheet AAU Tae Kwon Do Qualifier February 24, 2018 Early Registration Mail-in Deadline & Online Registration: All Applications must be postmarked by February 16, Mail to Arizona Dragons Taekwondo, LLC 444 West Main Street, Suite #102 Mesa, Arizona Late Fees: Applications postmarked after February 16, 2018, will be accepted, but will be assessed a $ late fee. There is no exception on the late fee policy. Mailed entries must be money order or certified check only; no personal checks and no cash should be mailed. NO REGISTRATION AT THE DOOR. Olympic Sparring: All competitors must wear a mouth guard, Olympic style chest guard, full headgear with padded top, shin and in-steps protectors (Electronic for Black Belts), forearm guards, and cup and supporter, inside the uniform (male competitors only). No Exceptions. See website for detailed rules. All athletes must wear a clean uniform. School uniforms with patches, school logos, and trim will be allowed. Coaches Attire: Blue AAU shirt. You can purchase a shirt at In order to coach your athlete and be given access to the floor, you must have taken the AAU Taekwondo coaches clinic online at this fiscal year. All coaches are encouraged to get certified for officiating as well. If you have taken the online course there is no fee for the referee seminar.
