3 About Ryde History Back in 1908, Ryde, built on the foundations of the illustrious Van Schothorst plant, has been synonymous of safety and top-class products. Ryde started as a forge and wheel manufacturer in Barneveld, later it moved to Boxmeer and more recently to Venray in a modern building location. From the very beginning, Ryde has focused on the production of rims, an activity in which it has specialized since the 1950 s. Over the years, Ryde has always partnered with the largest bike and wheel manufacturers. As a consequence, it has accumulated a unique and outstanding experience and is able to deliver the highest quality rims in each segment, from the simplest rims to the most sophisticated. Since the beginning Ryde has been synonymous with quality, safety, reliability and a continuous commitment to improving and perfecting its products. But we don t just sit back and wait to see what others will do. We prefer to put our heads together with our customers to come up with a solutions that make cycling even more attractive, more comfortable and safer. Together with our highly trained and dedicated product engineers we look for opportunities for product innovation and we open up new markets. Development and production is done in our own facility located in Europe and Asia. In that way Ryde can control every step of the process and guarantees the highest quality. More recently, Ryde also partnered with Cycling Parts Testing, a state-of-the-art testing center that puts all new models of Ryde under pressure and makes sure that rims meet the stricter s. Design with a purpose Ryde proudly develops all rims in house. New designs are based on new insights from the market or from teams. We are driven to give your customers a better ride. Be it longer lasting rims, stronger rims, or rims that make tires work better, rims that improve the quality of the wheel as a whole. Ryde always was at the forefront of the latest developments. And we are still leading the way with our current line-up of aluminum rims. Ryde offers a very wide product range, from the simple Rival 19 or Zac 2000 to the most sophisticated Andra, Edge or Trace series. 4 Durability Extra strong rims are another specialty of Ryde. We build rims for the hardest rides of world travelers and we supply the rims for many cargo bikes. Same rims are also often used for the most demanding producers of e-bikes. The Andra range has an impeccable reputation among its users. Ryde has recently extended this range to meet all possible needs in this segment. In its high end segment, all rims are tubeless ready. With this technology now gaining momentum in trekking bikes as well, Ryde keeps an edge on the competition. Future designs and new ideas are currently tested in a state of the art test laboratory, Cycling Parts Testing. All this should provide you the best rims. 8 Technical features Flat hole (FL) These nipple holes come in different diameter as an option for 13G nipples as well. We offer 4,5mm 14G and 5,5mm 13G. Those holes are often directional drilled to improve the spoke nipple line up to a certain extent. Single eyelets (SE) The stainless steel material resist to corrosion. It improves the strength around nipple hole, improves nipple / rim seat and reduces the wearing out of the nipples and rim. Double eyelets (DE) The stainless steel material of the external eyelet resist to corrosion. Together with the internal pan it improves strength of the rim by connecting the two walls of the rim. It distributes the spoke tension on two rim walls. The strength around nipple hole is higher. Like the SE It improve the nipple / rim seat and reduces the wearing out of the nipple and rim. Wheel building a double eyelet rim is easier as the nipple can not fall in the chamber. Internal dimpling (ID) The spoke holes are drilled under two angles, radial and axial. The spoke/ nipple line for wheels with big diameter hubs or small sized rims is adjusted. A better spoke nipple line guides to a longer lifetime of the spokes and a higher, more equal spoke tension. It is ideal for big hubs such as E-bikes/ bikes or internal gear hubs and an excellent solution for heavy duty wheels. The dimpling adds also more contact to the nipple and the deformation of the nipple is less. ID is a Ryde patented design. Ultimate Power (UP) The machined turned off side wall improve the braking performance and offers an optimal parallelism of the rim, a smooth joint and a better look. Safety line This system shows the rim wear without the risk that the rim sidewall collapses immediately without warning. The pin chanel is opening up before the hook is collapsing. With the visible crack in the rim the sidewall stays with it integrity, but needs to be replaced asap. This prevents potential accidents. Safety line is a Ryde patented design. Safety line is offered on all UP pinned rims. Pin joint Pin joint rim offer more stability. The two channels add more weight and stiffness to the profile. Pin joint rims and Saftyline work together in one construction unit. ETRTO The added number to the profile insures that the size tire is clearly defined. ETRTO conform rims are state of the art and bring a perfect tire mounting and seat. page 8

12 V-SHAPE RIMS X-Plorer For light trekking or as a sturdy rim on a city bike, the X-plorer does the job while looking good all the way. The extra stiffness due to the higher profile also works wonders for e-bikes. 14 Dutch 19 R 25,4 mm V-SHAPE RIMS The Dutch 19 fulfils a double duty as strong city bike rim and as sexy single speeder rim. The Dutch 19 R makes the rim even more versatile by adding a rim brake surface to the rim. It is one of the most used rims for travel bikes and proves time after time that it is almost indestructible! 28 ANDRA RIMS Andra 35 The square shape is similar to that of the Andra 30. The internal measurement of 22 millimetres is perfect for the use of wider tyres. The wider Andra 35 will still fit between the rim brakes. It is the only Andra without dimpling, but offers a 11,5 mm 28 mm 22 mm 20,5 mm lot of safety with a very thick rimbottom of 2,5mm. 29 Andra 40 To get the strongest wheels for hard used bikes used from cargo bikes to rickshaw to speed pedalic. The 25 mm internal width works perfectly with all the wider tyres that are available. If it has to last, take the Andra 40. We give an approval for 180kg load.
