2 Qualificatin Riders must qualify in ne f the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Series qualifier events during the respective seasn. Each UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Series (UGFWS) event grants participatin rights fr the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships. Based n the results f each race, the first 25% athletes f each age grup will be awarded with guaranteed entry t the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships and be able t race fr the Wrld Champin title. The first three f each fficial age categry will always qualify directly fr the Wrld Champinships, independently f the number f starters in that age grup. Riders must finish the race t be qualified. The 25% is calculated based n the number f starters, nt n the number f riders having finished the race (this includes the DNF riders but nt the DNS riders). The winners f the qualificatin slts will be annunced n the website and will be invited by fficial e- mail t register fr the Wrld Champinships via the dedicated nline registratin prtal. Qualifier events hsting nly a rad race will grant participatin rights fr bth the Rad Race and Time Trial Wrld Champinships Qualifier events hsting a separate time trial and rad race will grant the participatin rights respectively fr the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships Time Trial and fr the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships Rad Race Qualifier events hsting a single Time Trial will nly grant participatin rights fr the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships Time Trial In additin, riders wh participate in 3 qualifier events during the seasn will als be able t register fr the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships. This des nt require that they finish within the 25% first in their age categry. The defending Wrld Champins are autmatically qualified fr the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships the fllwing year and can register fr bth the rad race and time trial. Silver and brnze medal winners at the previus UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships must hwever qualify thrugh the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Series events f the given year. Wildcards There are 5 different types f wildcards which allw riders t participate directly in the Wrld Champinships withut qualificatin: Defending Wrld Champins (frm the last UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships) are autmatically qualified All UGFWS qualifier events get 5 wildcards fr the time trial and rad race that they can use fr riders wh missed qualificatin due t exceptinal circumstances (crash, mechanical prblems, etc.) All cuntries nt hsting a UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Series qualifier event get 10 wildcards (5 men/5 wmen) fr their best riders. The wildcards are distributed by each Natinal Federatin. All cuntries can send their Masters Natinal Champins (rad race in and time trial nly) withut qualificatin. Althugh sme cuntries rganize masters natinal champinships fr ther disciplines (criterium, hill climb, granfnd), they will nt be taken int accunt fr wildcard allcatins. 3 The hst natin f the Wrld Champinships benefits frm an additinal 20 wildcards (fr bth Time Trial/Rad Race). These wildcards are distributed by the respective Natinal Federatin. Licenses In rder t participate, riders need a natinal license frm a UCI affiliated natinal cycling federatin. An internatinal license is nt required. It is the rider s respnsibility t check if the license als cvers him/her with a race insurance fr races abrad and eventually take ut a private insurance plicy. Admitted licenses: Amateur license Master license Cycling fr All license Elite license with exceptin f: a) Any rider wh has during the current year been a member f a UCI registered team. b) Any rider wh has taken part in a Wrld Champinships, the Olympic Games, Cntinental Games, Reginal Games, the Cmmnwealth Games, r a Wrld Cup during the current year. c) Any rider wh has scred UCI pints in the year f the Wrld Champinships. Age grups Results will be prvided fr the fllwing 8 fficial age grups, fr bth wmen and men: 19 34y 35 39y 40 44y 45 49y 50 54y 55 59y 60 64y +65y Age grups are defined by the rider's age n December 31st f the year f the respective Wrld Champinships. At the Wrld Champinships, additinal age grups fr men and/r wmen (70-74, 75-79, etc.) will be created if 6 r mre riders are registered in each categry, with a rainbw jersey and medals als awarded t the winners f each additinal age grup. Specific race regulatins Different age grups start at different start times in the rad race. If age grups merge, they can ride tgether. The nly exceptin in which a cmmissaire will interfere is when a rider specifically waits t help anther rider in a later start grup, which is frbidden. 4 There must be a brm car behind the last rider n each curse. If a rider is very far behind (a specific time is t be determined by the LOC tgether with the lcal authrities), the rads may be repened; the rider will thus be bliged t respect all traffic regulatins. All riders will receive a final ranking as lng as they finish within any pre-determined time limits. Team Relay The Team Relay is nt an fficial Wrld Champinship. It is part f the side events prgram. Riders can nly take part if they are fficially registered fr the Wrld Champinships (Time Trial and /r Rad Race). The maximum number f teams is 25. Specificities: Teams are cmpsed f 4 riders. In principle, there will be a maximum f 1 team per cuntry and 2 teams fr the hme cuntry (unless additinal team spts are still remaining). 3 laps per rider n a 1.74km curse, with 12 laps (21km) in ttal. All riders must represent the same cuntry. At least ne female and ne male rider per team. Teams are frmed by riders frm the fllwing age categries One female rider f any age One rider f any age One rider age 40+ One rider age 50+ At least ne rider per team must attend the team relay briefing. The start rder per team is decided individually by each team, as per their specific racing strategy. The first rider frm each team must line up at the start and carry ut their required 3 laps. Each relay is then undertaken by entering the relay zne, with all 4 athletes cmpleting their mandatry 3 laps. It is each rider s respnsibility t cunt laps; teams nt cmpleting the required number f laps will be disqualified. After the last relay, the last rider must crss the finish line. A pdium ceremny will be hsted immediately after the race. Bikes All bikes must cmply with the UCI Technical Regulatins. A bike check will be held befre the start f the Time Trial fr all riders. At least 1 neutral supprt vehicle and/r mtrcycle per start grup must be freseen in the rad race. If there is a break away, the neutral car must serve it as a pririty. Fr the time trial, the riders cannt be fllwed by a car with a mechanic. The rganizer must prvide neutral supprt n the side f the rad at 2 r 3 key lcatins alng the curse. Private cars with spare parts/bikes/wheels are frbidden in the UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships. Given the high number f participants, it is impssible t ensure that a spare set f wheels is available fr all participants in the neutral supprt cars. Riders are advised t bring their wn spare inner tubes r tubular tires t the race. Timekeeping and ranking All riders will receive a timing chip at registratin. This timing chip needs t be wrn during the race fr all events: time trial, rad race and/r team relay. Any rider nt wearing the timing chip will be disqualified. Jerseys Riders shall wear the natinal jersey representing their natinality (and nt their cuntry f residence r license affiliatin, shuld it differ frm the latter). Althugh the fficial natinal jersey is nt required, the jersey shuld visually represent the athlete s cuntry, with a similar design and clrs. Club and private spnsrs are authrized t appear n the jerseys. Natinal Federatins can ffer advice n where t purchase a natinal jersey. If riders are unsure abut the layut, they can submit their design by t inf@ucigranfndwrldseries.cm. It is frbidden t wear: The previus year s Wrld Champin jersey The UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Series age grup winner jersey (all age categries) The rainbw stripes n the natinal team jersey The rainbw stripes n sleeves and cllar The rainbw stripes n the bike The rainbw stripes n the helmet Regulatins 2018 UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships -5

6 Sleeveless shirts and triathln suits (withut sleeves) Cmpressin scks Back number and number plate Race numbers must be attached t the back f the jersey (n the lwer part f the back fr better visibility). Each age grup will receive a different clred race number. Number plates can als be prduced by the rganizer. Signage All signage n the Wrld Champinships curse will be marked at least the Wednesday befre the event s that riders can train n the curse. Awards Ceremny The first three riders in each age grup (wmen and men) will be called t the pdium during the fficial UCI awards ceremny. All three riders will receive their respective medal n the pdium (gld, silver, brnze) and the natinal anthem f the cuntry represented by the winner will be played. The winners must appear in their racing gear; it is frbidden t wear a helmet, hat, sunglasses r pen shes. The schedule fr the awards ceremny will be annunced in advance. It is mandatry fr all cncerned athletes t attend the ceremny. The new UCI Wrld Champins will receive the fficial UCI rainbw stripes jersey. After the Champinships, they will als receive a letter detailing all guidelines applicable t the use and prductin f the rainbw stripes jersey. Safety Helmet: Wearing a helmet is mandatry fr all cmpetitins, thrughut the whle race. Medical certificate: Riders must pssess a valid natinal federatin license in rder t participate. Insurance: The rganiser must make sure that it hlds a third-party liability insurance, as specified in the Organisatin Agreement. It is the riders wn respnsibility t check if they are cvered by an accident insurance fr such events (cverage by the rider s license r private insurance). First aid: A number f medical assistance vehicles will be fllwing the race. There will als be a first aid statin at the start and finish area. Regulatins 2018 UCI Gran Fnd Wrld Champinships -6

7 Infrmatin n the back side f race numbers: the rganizer must prduce race numbers which include n the back side a medical frm which must be cmpleted. All participants must cmplete this frm and the rganizatin must infrm the dctrs s that they are aware that this vital infrmatin is available. The minimum infrmatin required by the UCI, which shall be written n the back side f the race numbers, is as fllws: Last name and first name Bld grup Present physical cnditin (asthma, diabetes, allergy (ies), epilepsy, etc.) Any current medicatin Last name, first name and telephne number (with natinal dialing cde) f the emergency cntact.
