1 Monday: MTB Technique Course followed by Tour 15 km 100 m difference in altitude 3 hrs Mountain Bike Skills Course with the Ahrntal Bike Academy. Including mountain bike check up and set up then a ride in the open country. Fitness level: Easy Technical level: Easy On Monday we are going to brush up on your technique! Our Mountain Bike Park has a range of man-made obstacles where you'll learn to handle your bike using bridges, ramps, teeter-totter, slalom, mounts and moguls, bends and jumps. The park is suitable for beginners to advanced. Beginners: Learn the basics: taking bends, braking, uphilling and downhilling. Practise your new skills on a specially laid out course in the Mountain Bike Park - learn the safety basics and have fun in the great outdoors. Advanced: Refresh the basic techniques and improve on them. Learn advanced bike techniques exercises and practise them in the Mountain Bike Park. Safe fun on single trail tracks in the great outdoors. After the Mountain Bike Park we head off together into the open country to try out our new skills. Our guides will choose the appropriate route for you. 2 Tuesday: family mtb tour "Tauferer Boden Round" 20 km 200 m difference in altitude 3 h Characteristics: The ideal family tour for all age groups. Enjoy the nature and discover the sights in the Aurina Valley. Endurance: easy Cycling technique: easy Starting from the Bikestation Basecamp in Campo Tures we enjoy an easy but wonderful tour suitable for families. The tour leads to the Riva Waterfalls and to the quietly positioned fishing pond Thara in Caminata. The short ascent to Castle Tures is of medium difficulty. 3 Wednesday: "Tauern Circuit" for strong bikers 42 km 1,000 m difference in altitude 6 hrs Route: Satisfying ascents and breathtaking descents on historic trails. Nature and culture at its best for the more experienced mountain bikers! Fitness level: Moderate to Difficult Technical level: Moderate to Difficult Starting point for this Alpine Pasture Tour is the village of Steinhaus 1.050m. We ride our bikes across meadow paths and tarmac roads towards the idyllic village of Prettau (1.450m) and the end of the valley. Not too long ago copper was being mined from the mountain. The mining gallery has been preserved for us to visit and is also the famous 'Gallery for Asthmatics'. Starting from the church we take the marked forest path towards Waldner Alm hut. A moderate incline across the Ameisenberg leads us to the Waldner Alm hut Kaserer Alm (1,800 m). From there a short and challenging ascent opens up a stunning view over the Rötspitze and Dreiherrenspitze, two 3,000 m peaks located on the other side of the valley. Now mostly on a gravel path we are passing ancient huts and their pastures. We cycle, at a steady pace above the tree line, to the Schüttalalm (2,030 m). Taking a narrow trail we then reach the Obere Tauernalm (2,018 m) hut where we are expected. After a light snack we lower our saddles and off we go down the historically important Tauernpfad path. A stony trail that in older days was an important connection to Salzburg. Today a popular hiking trail and one of the steepest and most challenging sections of the Transalpine Way leading over the Alpine Main Ridge. Reaching the valley bottom we pass the Adleralm hut and cycle from there to the church Heilig Geist in Kasern. On our orographic left we reach the mountain mine gallery in Prettau. Now we have to take the normal road, we reach the village of St. Peter where single trails take us to our final destination of Steinhaus. 4 Wednesday: "Round tour of Klausberg" for strong bikers 22 km m difference in altitude 4 h Characteristics: Panoramic tour with fantastic view of the summits of the Zillertal Alps. Suitable for fit mountain-bikers! Endurance: difficult Cycling technique: medium to difficult Starting point of this tour is the car park at the Klausberg cable cars in Cadipietra. In order to warm up our muscles we first cycle to S. Giacopo, and at the Achrain Bridge with turn off to the forest road leading into the traditional Bärental Valley. The steep gravel road leads to Seeber Alm Hut at approx. 1,900 m of altitude. From here we take the newly realised trail via Pferraböden to Großklausen. This single trail requires good up- and downhill cycling skills! After a short ascent in the Großklausen Valley we reach the hiking and mountain-bike region Klausberg. At Kristallalm Hut we will enjoy some tasty food and a fantastic view of the 3,000 m high peaks of the Alpine Ridge. Return to the point of departure via cycling paths and single trails! 5 Thursday: "Cascade Round" for advanced bikers 25 km 500 m difference in altitude 4 h Characteristics: To honour the year of the water we cycle from Campo Tures to San Giovanni. Along the route we will visit the most beautiful waterfalls in the Aurina Valley. Endurance: medium Cycling technique: easy to medium The Aurina Valley has lots of water, and the waterfalls offer impressive natural scenery. Starting point of this tour is the Bikestation Basecamp in Campo Tures from where we cycle to the renowned Riva Waterfalls. Afterwards we will face the ascent to Lutago in order to take a break at the waterfalls of Schwarzbach and Pojerbach. A rewarding tour with some short ascents and impressive mountain scenery! 6 Saturday: advanced mtb tour "Gruberalm Hut 40 km 1,400 m difference in altitude 6 hrs Route: The classic Ahrntal Valley mountain bike tour: ascents, single-trails and varied downhills in the heart of the Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park. For experienced mountain bikers. Fitness level: Advanced Technical level: Moderate to Difficult We begin our tour at the Valley Station at the Klausberg in Steinhaus (1,050 m) and we warm up taking the cycle track further into the valley. After about 500 m, we come to a crossroads and take a winding tarmac road to Großklausen. Spiralling we progress and reach an altitude of 1,600 m. We now take the gravel path to Klausberg Mountain Station from where we freewheel down for a bit. You will need stamina to get up to the highest point of our tour by following yet another winding road ending up at 2,000 m. From there it's downhill to the Gruberalm hut where the landlady will introduce us to local culinary delights. The return leg leads us down a forest path to the Obersteinerhof Farm (1,500 m). Here we'll need all our strength for carrying our bikes on a 15 minute long hike on a trail which links the Obersteinerhöfe with the Pojerhöfe, two small clusters of farms (1,630 m). Next we look forward to a downhill which is as long as it is varied finishing at the Castle of Sand in Taufers. From thereon, an easy cycle path takes us back into the valley and to where we started. 7 Saturday: advanced mtb tour "Speikboden km 1,400 m difference in altitude 6 hrs Route: NEW! An exceptional tour with 360 panoramic views from the Dolomites over to the Durreggruppe, the Rieserferner onto the Zillertaler Alps. Technically easy ascents followed by long descents. For experienced mountain bikers Fitness level: Advanced Technical level: Difficult From Sand in Taufers (865 m) we follow the main road to Muehlwald. At Mühlwalder Hof Guest House (1,230 m) we take a right and cycle onto the Mitterberg mountain (1,500 m). Leaving behind old traditional farms, we take a mountain road leading us to the Gasser Hof, where we take a left onto a gravel path towards Weizgruber Alm Hut (2,030 m). Next we proceed to the hut on a a sometimes steep climb over a newly made path in the direction of Sonnklar. Dismounting our bikes for a short push, we then get back on them for a winding path up a steady easy incline until we reach the summit at 2,200 m of the 'Stoanamandl'. Here we can take in a dramatic view onto the Moosstock, the Rieserferner and we may even catch sight of the Dolomites. The descent takes us over the Kellerbauer Path which is partly paved with stone slabs. It is here that the full view opens up onto the Zillertalergruppe with all its many and mighty 3,000 m peaks. The downhill trail ends at the little Treyeralbl hut (2,000m) where we descend further on a gravel path towards Speikboden Mountain Station. Following the forest path leading to the village of Luttach we count back down the meters this time as we lose altitude. We will come across the Schöllbergalm hut where we take a left towards Weißenbach and reach the Busegge Alm Hut (1,400 m). Taking the old Weißenbach road we descend steeply to Luttach where we freewheel towards Sand in Taufers taking the public cycling path. Rate: per person for "ahrntalaktivpartners" 15 (normal rate ).
