1 Hi all, Attached is the start list, course details and riders instructions, that you should study and take particular note of the local CTT regulations. I have had agreement from CTT to extend the number of riders, so all reserves are now included. HQ is Steeple Village Hall that is located in the street opposite the Star Pub in Steeple. The hall will be open at There is limited parking at the hall, so please park sensibly and use as little space as is necessary. Inevitably there will be some parking issues with so many riders. I suggest that, those of you who are starting early and may wish to leave after you have ridden, park in the space outside the hall gate. Some of you may need to park in the nearby streets. Could you ensure that you don't block residents driveways or make it difficult for them to leave and enter their homes. This is their village and if we upset them, we could loose the use of the hall for our events. There is space for a few cars on the grass verge on the right hand side of the road just after Stansgate Road on the way to the start. Don't block the field entrance here. Where it is possible, could you please share transport to the event or 'cycle out'. Sign-on at the HQ will close at 9.30am. Entry fee is 3.50, Juniors Note: 2.00 of this entry fee is a levy imposed by CTT to swell their coffers. Please have the correct change if you can. For those of you that are new to time trials, you must ride alone and unaccompanied, no drafting. If you are passed by another rider, then stay at least 20 meters behind them, unless you are overtaking them. All junior riders must have a completed and witnessed 2015 Parental Consent Form before they will be allowed to ride. Take note of any hazards mentioned on the Course Risk Assessment sheet at the HQ or at the start and take note of any instructions by officials. Please do not arrive at the start earlier that 5 minutes before your start time. There should be a marshal to hold you at Stansgate Road if you are early. Please do not approach the timekeepers during the event. Times will be available at the HQ and we hope to have batches sent there while the event is still in progress. Remember to keep you head up at all times and keep a good lookout ahead for any unforeseen hazards. Have a safe and enjoyable ride. 2 Course and Riders Instructions: Southend Wheelers Easter 10 miles Time Trial. Start; at field gateway at eastern end of lay-by opposite Steeple sign approx. half mile east of Steeple Village on the Bradwell road. Proceed east for approximately 4 ½ miles to Woodyards, a turning on the right. (Marshal). Turn right (Note oncoming riders and other traffic have right of way). Continue to T junction (Marshal) where turn left to B1021. (Marshal). Turn left and continue to T junction (Marshal) turn left and retrace to finish 25 metres past start at Steeple sign. Further note: On the outward leg, riders should ignore all turnings on the right until they see the marshal at Woodyards. CTT London East Local Regulations. No U TURNS are allowed within sight of either the start or finishing points. Riders carrying out this dangerous manoeuvre are liable to disqualification from the event and further disciplinary action by the District Committee. Static Trainers, e.g. Turbo trainers are banned from all morning events held in the London East District. IN THE ENTERESTS OF SAFETY, cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHEEL SAFETY HELMET that meets an internationally accepted standard. All juniors and/or riders under the age of 19 years are required to wear a suitably approved helmet. Cycling Time Trials and the Event Promotors recommend the use of a flashing rear light when competing. Riders are requested to avoid warming up on the course once the event has started. It is confusing to timekeepers to have riders in racing kit passing the finish line when they are not actually racing. All junior riders must have a completed and witnessed 2015 Parental Consent Form before being allowed to compete. All riders should read the On The Day Course Risk Assessment at the HQ or at the start before starting and take note of any instructions given by race officials. In order to avoid congestion, riders are asked not to arrive at the start more than 5 minutes before their start time.
