1 RULES Slovenský okruhový pohár GENERAL RULES 1.1. Slovenský Okruhový Pohár o.z. (hereinafter SOPOZ ) announces series of automotive circuit races for the year 2016: - Slovenský Okruhový Pohár (international circuit cup for all drivers, license not required) - Slovenský Okruhový Pohár MX-5 CUP (for SAMŠ licensed drivers) SOPOZ is the sole organizer of events of this series and as such is responsible for sports and administrative activities of SOP SOP is subject only to these rules, technical regulations and Supplemetary Regulations (SR) issued to each race. In case of any inconsistency or any situation that is not listed in the official documents of the organizer, he reserves the right to decide at his own discretion and this decision is final. 2. DEFINITION 2.1. Competitor means any natural or legal person who register in SOP with a duly completed application form which won t be rejected by organizers. Starting number will be assigned to the competitor s vehicle as his identification mark Driver means the person who drives this vehicle. Driver must be stated in the application form and must meet the following conditions. The driver: 1. should have reached the age of 18 years. 2. is owner of driving license for category B. 3. has a valid health insurance. 4. has signed the document Driver s statement, thereby confirmed and

2 unreservedly accepted the terms and obligations arising from article 10 of these Rules Managing authorities of the organization are: 1. Race Director 2. Three-membered JURY 3. Guideline 3.1. VEHICLES 4.1. In order to register in SOP, vehicles must meet the following conditions: Vehicle 1. is authorized for road use accompanied by certificate of roadworthiness. Type of bodywork and engine of the registered vehicle have to correspond to this certificate. 2. complies with the technical regulations of the organizer. 3. is a special racing car The vehicles are divided into the following classes: Groupe STC (small touring cars) Class 1 up to 1600 ccm Class 2 up to 2000 ccm (subclass 1: up to 1.000kg) Class 2 up to 2000 ccm (subclass 2: over 1.000kg) Class 6 open cars (subclass 1: small) Groupe BTC (big touring cars) Class 3 up to 2800 ccm

4 New class 3 up to 2800 ccm: As a result of dealings with drivers, we decided to open new class n 3 up to 2800 ccm for the year This class would be open only if there are at least 4 participants at the early technical and administrative check. Final annual award of this class at the end of the season would be held only if this class was open in (at least) 3 of 6 events during the year. Class 3 up to 3000 ccm Class 4 up to 3500 ccm Class 5 over 3500 ccm Class 6 open cars (subclass 2: big) Groupe CUP Class 7 Lotus Elise Class 8 Ford Fiesta Class 9 Mazda MX-5 Final decision concerning classification of vehicle is to be made by Eligibility Scrutineer after technical inspection. In case there are less than 4 drivers in some classes, these will be united together within the corresponding group. 5. TYRES 5.1. In the all SOP events, only the tyres with approval type E and semislick or slick tyres are allowed. 6. FUEL 6.1. Only lead-free petrol or lead-free diesel is allowed. 7. RACE NUMBERS 7.1. Race number will be assigned to a competitor at his first registration into SOP and competitor must use this number during the whole season. In case competitor needs to replace vehicle for another one which belongs to a different class than a previous vehicle, a new race number must be assigned to him. Such a change has to be announced by driver before technical scrutineering of the vehicle. First assignment

5 of a race number is for free, every other number will be charged by 6 EUR. - For the circuit cup championship: white background, black number. Lower color band determines the groups: STC green band, BTC - red, OFC yellow, CUP - blue. Class up to 2000 ccm over 1000 kg yellow background, black number. Class up to 2800 ccm - yellow background, black number. 8. MANDATORY DRIVER S SAFETY EQUIPMENT 8.1. Each driver must have safety helmet with the least approval type E, race suit covering the whole body (a valid FIA approval is not required), boots and gloves for motor sport. Mechanical full body overall is allowed only as an exception approved by Director of SOP championship. Without this equipment, the driver won t be allowed to access the track Drivers in the class BTC and OFC must have compulsory noncombustible clothing without significant damage (a valid approval is not required). 9. NUISANCE 9.1. Nuisance means any situation which one or several competitors participated in, or any act of a competitor that: - led to interruption of a training or a race, - means a breach of these instructions, - caused an early start of one or several vehicles, - caused a collision, - made a competitor leave a racing track, - improperly prevented another competitor from authorized overtaking manoeuvre, - does not respect the flag signaling. 9.2 One of these two penalties can be imposed by Race Director and/or

6 Eligibility Scrutineer to a competitor who participated in a nuisance: DRIVE THROUGH competitor has to drive through pit lane and rejoin the race without stopping at his pit box TIME PENALTY 30s which will be added to the competitor s final race time. 10. GENERAL CONDITIONS All drivers and competitors undertake to comply with all regulations of these rules and SR. Competitor must ensure that his vehicle complies with technical regulations during the entire event Parameters of vehicle at technical scrutineering must correspond to those in vehicle s registration certificate and comply to technical regulations SOP participants are obliged to follow instructions of organizers. The presence of SOP participants is at their own risk. If conduct of a participant contravene SOP rules, he will be forced to leave the site of the event without cost compensation On the roads within the area where the competition is held, it is necessary not to exceed the maximum speed of 20 km/h and follow the traffic signs Deliberate disposal of any fluid is prohibited at the entire site of the event. Its possible leak must be reported. If an attendee commits such an offense, is liable to pay all costs resulting from elimination of consequences and possible damages. 11. SERIES SCHEDULE There will be 6 double races in the season. Results from each race are counted up automatically Duration and place of each event will be announced sufficiently far in advance. Race duration is deliminated by time interval between the start and the finish. Leading driver will be determined by chequered flag

7 at the moment of crossing the finish line after timeout Driver is alone in the vehicle while driving Award ceremony will be held after the races according to the day schedule Points will be awarded after each race and to each class separately. If a fusion of classes is necessary, these classes will be awarded as a whole In case two drivers race with the same vehicle, each of them must have his own race number. Points will be assigned to each driver individually Points are awarded as follows: Race : 1 st place - 15 points, 2 nd place - 13 points, 3 rd place - 11 points, 4 th - 9 points, 5 th 7 points, 6 th - 5 points, 7 th - 3 points, 8 th - 1 point. Qualifying: 1 st place - 3 points, 2 nd place - 2 points, 3 rd place - 1 point. 12. SOP CUPS All competitors will be in the final classification Announced and awarded will be only first three best drivers of the day. The placings will be determined by sum of the points of Q1, Q2, R1, R2. Should there are more than one competitor with the same sum of points, the final placing will by decided according to order in R Should there is a tie among more competitors, the higher score will be attributed to the one who was better placed in the last event of the season. The amount of standing placements is considered as other criterion. 13. REGISTRATION AND APPLICATION FORM Application form, compulsory part of registration, needs to be completed and sent to each event separately.

8 13.2. At the administrative check, competitor confirms personally by his signature that he has read and understands these rules and undertake to observe them. 14. STARTING FEE In order to participate in the race, competitor needs to pay the starting fee which exact amount will be communicated enough far in advance before each race. Starting fee does not include a pit box rental. Starting fee may be paid at the administrative check at the latest. Unless otherwise specified in the SR, the starting fee is as follows: - Year-round starting fee EUR - One day starting fee 199 EUR - Extra practice 30min 30 EUR - Time Attack 99 EUR - Test-day Slovakia Ring (8x30min) 209 EUR (SOP participant 169 EUR) Competitor who paid the starting fee by bank transfer and cannot participate in the race for any reason, may ask for a refund up to 7 days before the event. Up to this deadline, the starting fee will be fully refunded. Otherwise the fee will forfeit to the organizer The starting fee will not be refunded to the competitor who is disqualified or retires from race In all the other cases, the final decision concerning refunding of starting fee will be up to organizer. 15. ADMINISTRATIVE CHECK AND SCRUTINEERING The exact date and time of administrative check and scrutineering will be specified in the SR before each race. No competitor will be allowed to participate in the race without passing through administrative

9 check and scrutineering Required documents are checked during the administrative check and mandatory safety equipment is checked at the scrutineering. 16. ANNOUNCEMENT A full announcement will be held by Race Director on the day of the race according to time schedule in the SR. Participation at the announcement is obligatory for all competitors! The Race Director may decide to organize another announcement during the day according to his discretion. 17. STARTING GRID AND START OF THE RACE The alignment of vehicles at the start will be determined by qualifying results Vehicles must be ready for queuing at the pit lane at least 10 minutes before the start. Since the board PIT WINDOW CLOSED is raised, all the cars that are not aligned will be put at the rear of the queue regardless of qualifying results. 18. STARTING PROCESS ROLLING START Before the start of the race, the vehicles are at the pit lane. After the signal, vehicles slowly pass to the starting grid where they are aligned according to results of drawing Vehicles that did not leave the pit box before the signal will not be allowed to start Start to formation lap will be behind the safety car. At the end of the round, the safety car will leave the track using the entrance to the pits. The leading car must keep the speed and other cars must maintain the order they have been ranked in before the start. Any variance from the speed of leading car will be penalized by 30 seconds Flashing green light or flag waving indicates that vehicles are

10 allowed to accelerate the speed. If there is a trouble during this process, the green light will not be flashed and vehicles will continue to drive another lap maintaining the speed RESTART applies after interruption of the race by a red flag. The difference from the start is that after flashing of green light during restarting, the vehicles are allowed to overtake each other only after crossing the starting line. 19. RACE Competitors are on the track at their own risk during the race Every retiring driver must manoeuvre safely and signal his intention on time If a competitor is obliged to drive his vehicle aside during the race, the vehicle must be put out of the track. If driver s healthy is not endangered, he should wait in the racing car for rescue vehicle. 20. PITS, WORK IN PIT BOXES, REFUELING If there are any automotive hand tools left on the pit lane after a stopover of a vehicle in a pit box, it must be immediately removed to avoid any potential danger for other vehicles Refueling is only allowed between the races. 21. GENERAL SAFETY White flag indicates that there is a slow moving vehicle on the race track Yellow flag indicates that there is a potential danger on the race track. One flag overtaking not allowed, slow down, get ready to change direction in case of a danger. 2 waving flags - overtaking not allowed, slow down, the race track is partially or fully impassable. Overtaking is allowed again only after

11 crossing the place where a green flag is raised Red flag waving on the order of Race Director, red flag indicates interruption of the race, all drivers must slow down and get ready to stop and to go back to pit boxes Blue flag waving is used to warn a driver that another car is going to attempt to overtake him for the entire lap. The warned driver must allow him to do so Red and yellow striped flag change of adhesion due to presence of water or oil Green flag indicates that the race track is clear, the flag is raised just behind the place where the yellow flags were previously raised Black flag with a race number disqualification sending-off the race Chequered black and white flag is displayed at the finish. To leave the racing circuit, drivers are required to only use the indicated track. Systematic and repeated obstruction of overtaking by a faster car will be punished by disqualification. 22. THE FINISH Signal indicating the end of the race is rung out at the finish line when the leading driver completes the entire length of the race. The leading driver will be pointed out by chequered flag waving. 23. PARC FERMÉ CAR PARK CLOSED After the end of the race, all the vehicles indicated by a signal will be placed to designated area. Presence is only allowed to the Race Director and Eligibility Scrutineer. Drivers are required to make their vehicles available as soon as possible to inquire any possible objection. 24. INCIDENTS

12 24.1. Incident means any infringement of rules or unauthorized behaviour on the race track The Race Director can give consent to Stop&Go. The punished driver will be noticed by a Stop&Go board with his race number. The driver is required to stop at the pit box not later than at the second round since the board was shown. When passing the pit, he stops at the designated place for 10 seconds, then he continues the race Maximum speed in the pit lane is 40 km/h! Throughout the penalization, driver is not allowed to leave the vehicle and no working of mechanists on the vehicle is permitted. 25. OBJECTIONS AND APPEALS Objection can be made only by a driver, in the written form up to 10 minutes after end of the race. Objection is considered valid only after payment of 300 EUR fee. All the objections made after this limited time period are considered invalid Eligibility of objection is considered by Race Director, Eligibility Scrutineer and a member of the organizing committee In case of justified objection, the 300 EUR fee will be returned to plaintiff In case of justified objection, the accused will be fined 150 EUR Race Director has every right not to accept an objection if he is convinced of its ineligibility. 26. ADVERTISING All right for advertising and promotion on the venue of the race are the exclusive property of SOP. Any advertising, excluding racing cars and the pits, is prohibited without permission of organizer If a competitor refuses mandatory advertisement of organizer, he

13 pays double price of starting fee A place where the event is located is not designated for promotion and sale in any form. This is only allowed with permission of Race Director and only if there is no conflict of interest with concluded contracting parties.
