1 2017 JUNIOR DRAGSTER PROGRAM RULES AND SCHEDULE ***ALL DRIVERS AND PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR READING AND KNOWING ALL LANCASTER DRAGWAY AND IHRA RULES. ALL RULES CONTAINED ON THESE PAGES ARE LEFT TO THE DISCRETION OF THE RACE DIRECTOR FOR INTERPRETATION IF NEEDED. THE RACE DIRECTOR'S DECISION IS FINAL. ***Drivers may dial to the hundredth of a second and may change their dial-in at any time during eliminations. Dial-ins must be on the tower side of the car prior to pulling out of the staging lanes. MAKE SURE DIALS ARE LARGE AND CLEAR TO THE TOWER! ***The driver must check both his and his opponents dial-ins as posted on the dialin boards before staging. If dial-ins are incorrect, DO NOT STAGE! Starter will correct dial-in. Do not complain about wrong handicaps after the run as it is your responsibility to check scoreboards before run. ***Lane choice will be by qualifying list. *** COURTESY STAGING IS RECOMMENDED! IF THE DRIVER UNINTENTIONALLY DEEP-STAGES OR DOES NOT COURTESY STAGE, ONE PULL-BACK IS ALLOWED IF APPROVED BY OR PERFORMED BY STARTER. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE CAR ON THE STARTING LINE WITHOUT COMMUNICATING WITH THE STARTER. *** ABSOLUTELY NO TOUCHING THE CAR ONCE IT IS PRE-STAGED! ***Drivers and parents are responsible for using all safety equipment properly, including helmets! If a driver isn't wearing arm restraints or their helmet isn't buckled SNUGLY, they will not be allowed to race. ***Drivers must remain SEATED in vehicle when being towed! AS PER IHRA: Data Recorders used to record engine temperatures, rpm, and exhaust temperatures must be mounted OUTSIDE OF THE DRIVER S COMPARTMENT AND OUT OF THE DRIVER S VIEW!

2 Drivers must have an IHRA Competition License for the correct category they are racing. Please provide LD with a copy of your license and birth certificate if you have not already done so. A contestant cannot drive more than one car on the same day. You must finish eliminator in the same car. A car may only be driven by one driver per event. Prior to competition all cars must have passed a technical inspection. MINIBIKES, MOTORCYCLES, ATV'S, ETC. Must have competition number displayed. Only one person on vehicle. CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RIDE ATVS, MINIBIKES, MOPEDS, BICYCLES, SCOOTERS, ETC. EVER. MUST BE DRIVEN BY PERSON WITH NY STATE OPERATOR'S LICENSE. MISUSE OF THESE VEHICLES WILL RESULT IN LOSING PIT BIKE PRIVALEGES. FIRST OFFENSE MAY RESULT IN A WARNING. SECOND OFFENSE IS IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE DRIVER WHOSE CAR THE VEHICLE IS WITH. POINTS There will be a $ points registration fee. You must register with Sharon Hughes to be eligible for points. Points start the day you join. Points earned as follows: 30 points attendance 10 point per round win 10 points Second Chance Race Winner 5 POINTS FOR QUALIFYING NUMBER ONE! You are allowed TWO waiver weeks for the season. (Waiver is defined as receiving your 3 attendance points without being there.) You will automatically get the waiver if you are not there. Points begin on May 23 and end on August 22. Points are awarded to driver, not car. Team drivers allowed, but must register as a team by the 4 th week of racing. Points Sheet will be distributed each week. If your calculations are different, please notify Sharon that week. The class must have a champion, no ties for first place. If there is a tie, the driver with the most 1st place wins will be chosen. If need be, we will go to 2 nd, 3rd place finishes, etc.

3 The gates will open at 4:00. Junior Dragsters can make 3 time trials beginning at 5:00 and will run no later than 5:45. Drivers will be placed on a ladder based on their reaction time during time trials. The ladder will be followed as printed. The number one qualifier will receive a plaque and $75 from K100 Fuel Treatments and Bauer Racing. See below for details. While the Jrs are pairing up, the other cars on the grounds will get a time trial. In between rounds, they will also make time trials. YOUR co-operation in getting back to the lanes will determine when the Juniors finish. First place will receive a class winner plaque. Second place a runner-up medal. There will be a Second-Chance Race for first round losers. You will be placed on a ladder in the order that you lost in the first round. If you do not return for the second-chance race, your opponent will get a bye run. The winner of the Second Chance Race will get 10 points, a class winner plaque and $25 and a t-shirt from Scott Jahren Paint. 5 AGAIN THIS YEAR, VIP Night with free passes for your sponsors and friends to come watch you race! NOTE: THESE WILL BE GOOD FOR THE GRANDSTANDS. VIP guests will be allowed into the pits at a designated time. VIP night will be TUESDAY, July 18 (Rain date July 25) Race of Champions - will be on TUESDAY August 29 Any Jr Racer that has won this season (including 2 nd Chance races) OR any past Champion OR any past winner of the ROC is eligible. Every Jr Racer is invited to the Open Junior Eliminator that day) The winner of the Second Chance Race will receive $25 from Scott Jahren Paint. You must run contingency decals to participate.
