2 What is DTI? Sometimes life takes you on a different path, a Detour. The economic collapse of 2008 hit hard, and like a lot of people and businesses I was impacted. In my case it steered my racing career off course. This event turned out to be just the beginning of a professional motorsport detour for me. That detour ends now, with an entry in the 2019 Indianapolis 500 event. Detour To Indy was born after speaking with fellow Las Vegan, and IndyCar team owner, Sam Schmidt who agreed to make me part of his 2019 Indianapolis 500 driver line up, with one proviso, I have to bring together a team of commercial partners to help fund the project. The famous yard of bricks at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway The Detour To Indy (DTI) is far more than just an opportunity to race in the 2019 Indianapolis 500, it s a chance to fulfil my life long pursuit of racing excellence. The Detour To Indy is something for my family, my friends and supporters who have been behind me since I made this commitment at the young age of 10 years old. It s a culmination of everything up to this point in my life. It s not just about the results of a race, it symbolizes and fulfills an emotional and far bigger life story for me, for everyone. The Indianapolis 500 is something that so far has eluded me, circumstances meant I haven t had the opportunity to do this amazing event, yet hence the name Detour To Indy. - Matt Jaskol

3 Hi, my name is Matt Jaskol, I m 33 years old and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since as early as I can remember I have been dedicated to everything that I apply myself to, this started at the tender age of 5 with motocross. By the time I was 10 I had moved on to four wheels and was racing Go Karts. At this young age I had already made the decision, with my family, that motorsport was what I was going to dedicate my life to. I always knew I was going to be a professional athlete. That dedication and vision took over my life and has led me to experience some amazing opportunities. I have raced in many countries around the world and I have experienced success, winning many races and championships in different forms of car racing. My ongoing passion and dedication to be an athlete staying fit, motivated, relevant, and behind the wheel of a race car whenever I can, has led to this moment. Through the Detour To Indy project I now have the opportunity to race in the world s greatest motor race: the 2019 Indianapolis 500.

5 Marketing Plan: Detour To Indy activities are supported by a comprehensive marketing plan tailored to ensure that our partners brands and product/service messages reach as broad an audience as possible. Our media campaign activities are ongoing, and we integrate your specific marketing messages into this program as soon as we partner and for the duration of the partnership. Traditional Media: Television Over and above the IndyCar event driven tv exposure we send out media calls to local media based on the unique promotional activities we are undertaking at the time. The aim of this media is to increase the overall familiarity and awareness of Matt the DTI project and our partners brands and services. Radio - We use radio to promote a stronger connection between our Matt, being the driver, and the American public. Radio also provides us with a diverse cross section of listeners, so it serves to introduce and create a larger follower base. Newspaper - Local newspapers are always hungry for content when it comes to events happening in their local community, our PR team focuses on developing hooks relevant for each local market. Digital Media: Social Media - Leveraging our growing social media portfolio that includes Instagram; Facebook; Twitter; You Tube; and LinkedIn, we continue to connect with people nationally. We also offer our social platforms to our commercial partners, creating specific content that promotes your brand, product, services and key messages, clearly and directly. Website - Mattjaskol.com is the digital pit garage currently for Detour To Indy, housing all the information related to Matt the project and our commercial partners messaging. Documentary: After filming the revolutionary ABC social experiment tv show Castaways, in 2017 the producers showed an interest in Matt s life story and suggested that they would be interested in producing a documentary about his story and journey to the 2019 Indianapolis 500.

8 The Indycar Series: The Verizon IndyCar Series is the premier open-wheel racing series in North America. It offers one of the most diverse and challenging schedules in motorsport, with races held on short ovals, superspeedways, permanent road courses, and temporary street circuits. The world-renowned Indianapolis 500 Mile Race is the centrepiece of the Verizon IndyCar Series schedule each year. Fast Facts: Verizon IndyCar Series cars feature a 2.2-liter, twin-turbocharged, direct-injected V-6 engine optimized to run 12,000 RPM. Honda and Chevrolet are the engine manufacturers for the Verizon IndyCar Series. ( HP) The 2019 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule is comprised of 17 races, 16 venues, 15 in the United States and one in Canada. - The Indianapolis Six oval tracks - Six permanent road courses - Four temporary street courses A Verizon IndyCar Series car accelerates from 0 to 100 mph in less than three seconds.

9 The Indianapolis 500: This incredible event is considered the most traditional, historic and significant automobile race in the world. Since 1911 the great race has been held on the last weekend in May to coincide with Memorial Day and is the largest one-day sporting event in the world. One of the most famous traditions is for the winner of the Indianapolis 500 to drink a bottle of milk in victory lane. Since 1936 the Borg-Warner Trophy has been presented to the winner of this great event, it is synonymous with top performance, speed, and leading-edge automotive technology. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway: No other venue on the planet can match the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for its history, spectacle and sheer speed, hallmarks since its earliest days. Even after one hundred races the Indianapolis 500 remains one of the world s greatest races, filling each May with a sense of drama and intrigue. The first circuit to bear the name Speedway, everything about Indianapolis is vast. It has a permanent seating capacity estimated at 257,325, with infield seating raising the total to an approximate 400,000. This makes by far the highest-capacity sports venue in the world. 10 The Team: Established in 2001 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports (SPM) is located in Indianapolis and currently fields two cars full-time in the IndyCar Series. SPM is owned by former IndyCar driver Sam Schmidt and businessman Ric Peterson. Matt & Sam I met Sam Schmidt late 1998/early I had just won my first big karting national championship. I was 15 years old and was working as a lead instructor at the Kart racing school in Las Vegas. The track was owned by Bryan Herta. Sam would come out periodically with his shifter kart and I would help him, and even coach him a little bit. We became friends. When he was racing Indycar at the Las Vegas motor Speedway in 1999 he invited my father and I out as guests. We watched Sam win his very first IndyCar race ever. - Matt Jaskol Back Story On Sam Schmidt's Injury. On January 6, 2000, Sam Schmidt was practicing in an Indycar when he was involved in an accident, hitting the wall with tremendous impact. Sam was airlifted to a local hospital in a critical condition, he was diagnosed as a quadriplegic. In 2001 just 14 months after the accident Sam launched his own race team.
