3 THE STORY OF John Stange s entrepreneurial spirit emerged in high school when he launched his first business selling outdoor furniture; Stange s Castle Rock Wood Product. He eventually took the business to QVC in 1995 and sold custom handcrafted cedar adirondack chairs on the network s 50 in 50 tour. John went on to operate Stange Corporation businesses which he still does today. However, John couldn t get away from his first passion of auto racing which he had grown up around since he was a toddler. In December of 2000, John convinced the City of Chicago to shut down North Michigan Avenue in order to launch a demonstration run of an Indy Car to promote a sponsorship idea for Indy Racing Team, Dick Simon Racing and to bring awareness of Indy Car racing coming to Chicago at the then new Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Illinois. John was first to organize a LIVE broadcast of a professional sports event on WEB TV (yoke TV) with the broadcast of the 2004 Cleveland Grand Prix CHAMPCAR Race. He negotiated with outlets such as CHAMPCAR and Spike TV as well as crew and media companies to stream the feed from the event. Finally in 2005, John and his wife Ashley launched Team Stange Racing, LLC to which they then managed and ran several marketing and sponsorship programs. In 2012 Team Stange purchased the nine time championship ARCA Racing Series team, Larry Clements Racing and entered into the ARCA and NASCAR world. In 2017 Team Stange Racing is focusing on a move to the Indy Car Series starting with the 2018 Indianapolis 500 the greatest race in the world and expanding into more races in the series in 2018 and a full season in The team has an extensive global network of associates to which John attributes to his years of involvement in motorsports and business. He has nurtured relationships with retailers, manufacturers, politicians, and leaders in key industries. Today, Team Stange Racing continues to pioneer within the racing community with several corporate partnerships and sponsorships through both NASCAR, ARCA and the Indy Car series. -John Racing is my life. I ve grown up around racing from a toddler and it s what feeds me, puts my children through school, as well as allows me to participate in other business ventures. Since then, the two have worked with major retailers, professional sports teams, entertainment leagues, and large product manufacturers to develop and grow successful B2B deals and successful sponsorship programs with full activation. Ashley is the owner of Sensibly Impractical Entertainment a company that produces and markets podcasts along with owning and operating several Stange Corporation businesses along with her husband John. Ashley s business prowess in in operations and finance. She is a big fan of racing and plays 14 inch softball. She also is an MS society activist and has raised thousands of dollars to help that cause with the hopes of someday finding a cure as an individual who herself was diagnosed in 2007.
