4 !!! Safety FIRST!!! The Cmpetitr must at all times: Must wear eye prtectin and ear prtectin (Spectatrs als). Keep the finger utside the trigger guard while clearing a malfunctin. Keep the finger utside the trigger guard during lading, relading, r unlading; and ut f the trigger guard until start tne has sunded. Failure t cmply will result in a stage warning. Tw warnings n a single stage will result in a stage disqualificatin. Stage disqualificatin will result in a recrded time f 120 secnds, 30 secnds fr each string. All handguns must be in hard r sft cases r gun rugs r sme ther strage transprt cntainer when brught t the designated shting area and must be returned t the strage case / rug / cntainer when remved frm the designated shting area. Hlsters are allwed. A Cmpetitr wh causes an unintentinal discharge will be stpped by a Safety Officer as sn as pssible. A cmpetitr that sets a laded firearm dwn n the shting table and remves their hand frm the firearm will result in a stage disqualificatin. A rund striking the start aiming cne results in a stage disqualificatin. A rund striking between the shter and the start cne results in a stage disqualificatin. If at any time during the curse f fire, a Cmpetitr allws the muzzle f the firearm t pint rearward, that is t break the "170 degree rule" as defined by the Safety Officer, the Cmpetitr will be stpped immediately. Such an actin will result in a match disqualificatin. If at any time during the curse f fire, r while lading, relading r unlading, a Cmpetitr drps a firearm r causes it t fall, laded r nt, it is t be retrieved nly by the Safety Officer. Drpped firearms must always be retrieved by a Safety Officer wh will, after checking and/r clearing the firearm, place it directly int the Cmpetitr's gun case r gun bag. Drpping an unladed handgun r causing it t fall utside f a curse f fire is nt an infractin; hwever, a Cmpetitr wh retrieves a drpped gun will receive a match disqualificatin. 6 Shting Frmat Safety Meeting Lading All shters and spectatrs must attend the safety meeting. Safety Meeting will take place in the main hall 7:30AM Central Time. Shting Bay lcatins will be presented. Lunch / Pistl / Rifle start times will be annunced. Must take place under the supervisin f the RO Yu MUST SHOW that yur gun is CLEAR. Magazines may be laded befre cming t the firing line, but cannt be inserted until instructed. High capacity magazines are allwed. Cunt yur runds (Firing mre than 11 runds n a string will result in a penalty) NO RELOADS ON A STRING COWBOY /COWGIRL - participants must have 2 single actin revlvers laded with 5 runds in each per string. Using tw 6-sht revlvers, bth revlvers MUST start with the hammer dwn n an empty chamber. The participant's secnd revlver shall be placed n a table in frnt f him r her. MECHANICAL (Duble Actin Pistl) hammer fully dwn and all chambers may be laded. All external hammer rifles (pump, levers) must have the hammer dwn n an empty casing in rder t relad between strings. D nt manipulate the mechanism after the last sht f the string. All guns must be pinted dwn range at all times. Semi Aut yu may place yur laded magazines n the table. 6

7 Shting All Range Officers (RO) will use the same Range Cmmands as fllws: Shter, Lad and Make Ready This is the cmmand frm the RO that ntifies the shter that they may handle the firearm and lad it. Shter Ready? If the shter des nt respnd r respnds in the affirmative, RO will cntinue with the next cmmand. If the shter respnds in the negative, the RO will allw enugh time fr the shter t get ready and then repeat the Shter Ready? cmmand. Standby Tw (2) t three (3) secnds after this cmmand, press the start buttn will activate the timer with a lad BEEP n the timer. This is the signal t start shting. STOP If the shter vilates any safety rule, the RO must stp the shter and crrect the errr. If the Range Officer bserves a firearm malfunctin (such as a squib), the Range Officer may stp the shter. In this case, if the firearm is nt malfunctining, the shter will be required t resht the string. Make Ready fr Yur Next String Fllwing strings ne (1) thrugh five (5), instruct the shter t make ready fr the next string. After the shter has prepared fr the next string, resume cmmands at the Shter Ready? cmmand. Yu Are Finished, Unlad and Shw Clear After string 5, the RO will instruct the shter t unlad the firearm (bth revlvers fr Cwbys) and shw it clear. If clear, Bag it r Hlster it r Muzzle Up Depending n whether the firearm is a handgun r rifle. This is the RO instructin t the shter t secure the firearm(s). Range Is Clear On this cmmand, participants can mve dwnrange t paint targets. Spectatrs are nt allwed t cach r call hits and misses. 7

8 Scre Card Yu must submit yur scre card fr the stage when yu arrive t sht the stage. Yu will sht each stage 5 times. Yur scre is a cmbinatin f Time, plus Penalties. The highest scre will be remved. Yur scre will be the cmbinatin f the 4 lwest scres. Scring Scre is ttal time plus penalties. Targets 5 t 7 depending n the stage. Targets can be sht in any rder, with the exceptin f the Stp Plate. It must be sht last. The Stp Plate must be sht last. Maximum scre is 30 secnds per string. Target that is missed after striking the stp plate 2 secnd penalty Missing the Stp Plate 30 secnd penalty. Shting the Stp Plate ut f rder will be scred as time plus misses. If the cmpetitr intentinally fails t engage all the targets in the curse f fire, the string time will be 30 secnds and a warning will be issued by the RO. Disqualificatin may ccur.
