LOOP 820 FORT WORTH, TX Cowtown Mopars is happy to announce that it has returned home to Allen Samuels North Loop Dodge. As many of you already know, before the Club became known as Cowtown Mopars Performance Team, it was North Loop Dodge Performance Team. We are returning to our roots with the dealership and are looking forward to a long exciting relationship with them. Allen Samuels is also sponsoring the DFW LX Club and we will be doing some events together to show old school/new school Mopars, starting on March 22nd. As a Club Member, you will get NOS parts for 10% over cost, Special Order Parts for 15% over cost and Special Club Pricing on new vehicles. Whenever you go to the parts counter or see a salesman to buy a car, let them know that you are a club member. We are going to move our April Dealership Show to September this year and will be doing our Annual Toy Drive there. A big thanks go to Tom Hervey President/General Manager, Kevin Coder Customer Relations Director, Don Fleming Service Manager, Roy Benner Parts Manager and all the Allen Samuels employees for welcoming us back. Lets show them that we are glad to be back and help support them as they are us. As we all know, it is a troubling time for everyone but especially the Auto Manufacturers and Dealers.

3 March has arrived with a fury (not a Plymouth Fury). We have had several months of laying back and taking it easy and the time has come for everything to start up at once. By the time the newsletter comes out the Ronald McDonald House event will be behind us. We have the first Muscle Car Challenge Race and the Club Meeting and elections on March 15 th. Be sure to attend the Club Meeting and place your vote for the Club Board. As you have read in the Sponsor Article, Allen Samuels Dodge is our new Sponsor. The DFWLX club is also sponsored by them and is having a Car Show at the Dealership on Sunday, March 22 nd from 12 noon til 5:00 PM. We have been invited to attend and make it an old school/new school show. Let s make a special effort to get our cars there to compete and make a good showing for our new sponsor. Lets show them what Cowtown Mopars is made of and support the dealership like they are supporting us. KLUV will be there and they will be serving free Hot Dogs. I hope to see many of you there. The next Saturday, March 28 th we have our Cruise planned. Details will be found in the events section of the Newsletter. Well, it looks like a busy month so let s get those Mopars out of the mothballs and get them rolling again. I hope to see many of you soon and often. I am compiling a computer CD with all of the pictures I have from various CMPT events. These are pictures taken by both myself and other club members. This disk will have at least several hundred pictures on it. If anyone wants a copy I will start bringing them to events starting on the 7th. My cost is about $1 per disk so as usual, all I ask for is a small donation to cover my expenses. If you have a car of the month, and have not yet gotten your plaque, I bring the plaques to every club meeting. If you are unable to make the club meetings, I m sure I can get it to you some other way. 4 Last fall, the club put together a Saturday cruise that covered about 160 miles of pretty North Texas countryside, along with a delicious lunch at Babe's in Granbury. Everyone that went had a great time. Many who could not make it, asked us to plan another cruise, and the original participants supported the idea of making it a regular event. On Saturday, March 28th, the CMPT is planning a cruise to Dinosaur Valley State Park, just north of Glen Rose, TX. We will have two meeting locations. For those who live in the northern portion of DFW, we will be meeting at 8:30 am, at Allen Samuel's North Loop Dodge, in North Richland Hills. Suggest we meet on the east side of the dealership, as there is a north/south street that will keep us out of traffic. The dealership is closed on Saturdays. We will leave as close to 8:30 as we can in order to get to the second meeting place. For those members in the southern and western environments, we will meet at 9:00 am at the Benbrook Antique Mall, 9520 Benbrook Blvd. (Hwy. 377 South), in Benbrook. The mall is on the northwest side of 377, directly across from Tractor Supply Co. We plan to leave no later than 9:15, but as usual, it will probably be 9:30. (We all know how this works). We will cruise down Hwy. 377 to Granbury, staying on the by-pass south of town, until we reach Hwy We take a right on 144 south to Hwy 67, then right on 67 west to and thru Glen Rose, continuing west to FM 205. Take a right on FM 205 and that will take us north to Dinosaur Valley. The park charges a $5.00 per person entry fee for those 13 and older. Twelve and under are free. Lunch is a "bring your own" affair. The park is on the Paluxy River and contains a large number of dinosaur tracks located in the riverbed. For the trip back, those who want can go into picturesque "old" Glen Rose and see the town square and courthouse, and drive along the river road back out to Hwy 67. Additionally, we can leave Glen Rose on FM 56, and go north and get within viewing distance of the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant. From there, it is back into Granbury and home. 5 BOARD NOMINATIONS Voting for the 2009 Board Members will take place at the end of our March 15th. We will wait until the end of the meeting for anyone that is coming to the meeting after the race at Kennedale. We will open the floor to nominations one more time before voting commences. Remember, you need to be a member in good standing with your 2009 dues paid before you will be eligible to vote. Mopars At The Motorplex This year at Mopars At The Motorplex we will be having a judged car show. We have a joint committee made of members from both Dallas and Cowtown Mopars to help organize everything. As usual, we are in need of people the day of the show to help. We will NOT be handling registration money, so that will make our lives much easier. However, we still need people to help with Registration, Judging, parking control and selling 50/50 tickets, etc. We will have 32 classes in the show. There will NOT be a Race Class since most race cars will be racing. Due to logistical issues, Cars in the show cannot participate in the race. If you would like to volunteer to help contact Dave Mandato, Ken Key, or Kirk Maisenbacher. 6 The Go Fast(er) Department Mark Buchanan - Race Team Coordinator We will have our first TMCCC race at Kennedale March 15th. I hope everyone has had a chance to go to one of the local tracks and knock some rust off in preparation for this year. I have been out twice and my best so far is a 92.8 mph. Ron is working on a third race in Denton and maybe one more. I will let you know. See ya at Kennedale. Gates open at 8:00am. We will be having a car show at the Ronald McDonald House in Ft. Worth on March 7th from 10am til 2pm. They will be filming the show and playing a portion of the video at the Mopars at the Motorplex. Thanks to Marty Robertson for putting this together so quickly. I hope everyone is planning to be at the Mopars at the Motorplex this year. I'm getting REAL excited about it already! This will be the kind of event that you take a day of vacation for if you normally have to work on Saturday. The Mopars at the Motorplex flyer has been finalized. In the last few weeks we have handed out over 600 flyers at The Dallas Autoroma and The Ft. Worth Rod & Custom. Thanks to Dallas Dodge for supplying all of the color flyers for us. The second and final ad for the Mopar Collectors Guide has been sent in by Mike Miller. The magazine will be out soon. 7 Mopar Events Schedule Just in case you actually needed a reason to drive your Mopar!! TMCCC Race - The first TMCCC race of the season takes place at Kennedale on March 15th, Gates open at 8am. CAR CLUB MEETING - Sunday, March 15th, 2009 at 5pm. Billy Bob s Texas. Remember that we have secure parking and we get a 10% discount of Risky s Barbeque inside Billy Bob s. THIS IS VOTING DAY!! 8 March 2009 Car Of The Month Rick Brownell s 2005 PT Turbo I went to our toy run and this is the toy I got. It's a 2005 GT Turbo PT Cruiser convertible. Ever since the Dakota got run over by a gravel truck it was never the same. I was looking for a replacement when I went to the toy run and saw this car in the used car lot. I knew, after taking it around the block, that it had to come home with me. Low mileage and loaded with extras. I love it and it goes nicely with Susan's PT limited. I know Chryslers are an old mans car so this old man has one. Stumpy
