1 Volume 26 Number 01 JANUARY NEWS EXHAUST NOTES PRESIDENT S MESSAGE Happy New Year Music City Mopar Club members and thanks again for a great 2014! There are a number of changes taking place this year with probably the most notable being John Sanderson s retirement as president of the club. As was stated at the December meeting, we are extremely grateful for John s service over the past 14 years and look forward to building on his legacy in and beyond. The second significant changee involves our website. David Bernath informed us that he will no longer be able to continue as our webmaster and a new website needs to be created and hosted at a different provider. David, thanks for developing and maintaining our current site! The new site should be up and running in the next week or so and will include a members only section that will allow for sharing of our member s pictures (I am terrible with names), pictures of up to five of each members cars and links to club documents (both current and archived). For those of you not able to make the December meeting and club Christmas party you missed a great event. Thanks again David Denney for hosting this event and Linda Price for coordinating the sides and desserts. We have two significant goals for. The first is growing the membership and I challenge each of us to enroll a new member this year. The second is topping last year s great show and having over 200 Mopars at our 26 t h annual event in September. So start recruiting new members and participants for the show it is never too early. Again, thanks for a great 2014 and I look forward to serving you as president in. Donny { / lippardd@aol.com} THE CHRIISSTMASS PARTY AND DECEMBER CLUB MEETIING:: Meeting Notes from Gary Garner great cooking equipment and his grilling expertise. Thanks as well go to his assistant chefs Bob, Chuck, and Jeff for all of their work in preparing a great meal. Chuck and Bob, making smoke Host and Master Chef, David Denney The Eating Frenzy Begins The last meeting of 2014 and the annual Christmas food, fellowship, and fun event was held at David Denney's shop at his home in Lebanon on Sunday Dec. 21. Many thanks go out to David, not only for the use of his shop, but for the use of his
2 Volume 26 Number 01 JANUARY NEWS The meeting was called to order by outgoing Club President John Sanderson. Club President, Donny Lippard, assumed control of the meeting at this point and stated his goals for the club in the year ahead. The possibility of having meetings covering technical "how to" topics was mentioned and the response was very positive. If you have any ideas or feedback, please bring it to the clubs' attention at the next meeting. Membership director {2014}, James Peach, reported that the club now has 130 members. The first edition of the Membership Directory will be prepared in January, so if you have not submitted your dues, now is the time and be sure to update your personal information. Events Director {}, James Peach, thanked the membership for the opportunity to serve as Events Director. James reminded everyone that the Hunters Custom Auto Show and Big Easy 14 th Annual New Orleans Mopar Show are scheduled for the same week-end, March 13, 14 and 15. Several club members are going to the New Orleans event and the Club needs 26 vehicles to fill a room at the Hunters Show. The Club will pay $20 of the $35 entry fee, so it will only cost members $15 to be a part of this very prestigious Event. The entries must be complete by February 01 {see Flyer and Show information included with this newsletter}. The $15 and other documents should be sent to the Mopar Club s address by February 01. Contact Jim Peach { } for details. A big THANK YOU goes to Don Wolfe for his work in fabricating 60 stanchion bases in the pentastar shape and powder coated black with stainless steel star for the club to use at shows and events, like Hunters in March. Each base weighs 11 pounds and has rubber feet.
