President: Dean Yates Vice President: Rockey Rozell Secretary/Membership: Greg Errett Treasurer: Joe Brown Activities / Webpage / Newsletter: Dean Yates plymouth-man@carolina.rr.com On December 5 th the Club held its Appreciation Dinner at Uncle Bucks in Salisbury. We had a small turnout of only ten or eleven members but I think good food and great fellowship was had by all. I know of several members that were hoping to come but were unable to because of other obligations. Before our food was served we had a short meeting discussing several importation items such as: Club activities for 2016, listing of organizations for Club donations, and the elections of Club Officers for the next two years. I would like to be the first to congratulate the 2016/2017 Club Officers, some are the same, some taken on other positions, and some are new. The changes are Rockey Rozell as Vice President and Greg Errett as Secretary/Membership. I would also like to thank those that have held these positions the last several years Plymouth <-> 2001 Plymouth A Note From The President First of all I would like to wish you all a Happy New Year! Let s all hope and pray that this new year will be a good year to all. I hope you all had a very Merry and Blessed Christmas. I also hope you got that special Plymouth present you were hoping for. A side note on our December 5 th dinner at Uncle Bucks is on Monday the 7 th the owners of Uncle Bucks closed. This saddens both Tanya and me because it was one of our favorites in Salisbury. The owners after 9 years of working 14 to 18 hours a day for 6 days a week were just tired and needed to do something else less stressful.

2 We will continue the discussion at our next meeting on the 2016 list of activities. If you have an activity you would like to do please bring it to our next meeting. Also we will continue our discussion on Club donations for the year. Several good ones came up at our last meeting such as: Salvation Army, Wounded Warriors, and Saint Judes Children Hospital. If you are unable to attend our next meeting and would like to have input to either of these two items you can your suggestion to me at: Mike Bucket is back with us again this month with another installment of Recollections of a RAMCHARGER. Thanks Mike for your input on the early days of the RAMCHARGERs. We only have a few of Mike s MOPAR racing stories left so enjoy them while you can. Also in this Plymouth Power issue I have included some additional pictures of the Don Garlits Museum that I attended this past November 6 th. What a great show and museum this was and I hope to attend again in the future, God willing. Don t forget our next outing will be January 30 th at the AutoBarn in Concord. Come early and view the many cars on the show floor. The meeting will start at 5pm and after the meeting we will have dinner at Punchy s Diner (just around the corner). New Business * Identify ideas for club activities; send them to him by the next meeting on January 30 th at the Auto Barn in Concord, North Carolina. * What organizations should the Club donate money to? St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, TN was suggested. Sherry Deliso mentioned making a contribution to a military organization. * Dean mentioned that annual club dues are due in April, * Dean also discussed the election of officers for The nominees were Dean Yates for President; Rockey Rozell for Vice President; Joe Brown as Treasurer, and Greg Errett as both the club's Secretary and Membership Chairman. The floor was open for additional nominees for all officers. Being no other nominations were made the new officers were voted in as presented. * Next Club meeting/outing will be the Concord AutoBarn on January 30 th. * Meeting adjourned. Members in attendance were: Dean & Tanya Yates, Joe & Jan Brown, Don & Betsy Fontaine, Vince & Sherry Deliso, Greg Errett, and new member Mitchell Hendrickson. No minutes from our last outing. Treasurer s Report Joe Brown gave us a Treasure Report. Sick Call Dean Yates offered an opportunity for the club to identify club members and/or their spouses and family members who may be sick or injured during this holiday season. 4 A Garlits 1962 Dodge Dart One of only 25 Max Wedge Dodges made in 1962, presented to Garlits by Dodge Public Relations and which he and wife Pat both drove in Super Stock Automatic competition Plymouth Sport Fury Max Wedge The white car is a 1962 Plymouth Fury with the same Max Wedge combo picked up by Lou Furlong at Chrysler in Detroit the same day Garlits originally received his red Dodge machine. A Granatelli Brothers 1962 Plymouth Fury Max Wedge Andy Granatelli reached a top speed of mph while setting a standing-mile record of mph for stock-bodied American-built cars.
