Editor & Publisher: Frederic Roy phone: polo@themorningline.com 2012 Trophy Inc. all rights reserved ERG Wins West Coast Open in Santa Barbara, CA The West Coast Open was hosted by Scott Woods and Lyndon Lea on their private fields in or near Santa Barbara: Scott Wood s superb, new polo facility on two fields formerly owned by Bill Meeker for and Lyndon Lea s field out at the old El Capitan Ranch where Lyndon built a great field with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands. Played in the second half of August, the final was held last Saturday, September 1st. Four teams had come to Santa Barbara, CA for some ranch-style Summer polo and all four teams: ERG, Zacara, San Saba and Dolphins (see rosters page 8) entered the West Coast Open, the last tournament of the season. Everyone played each other in a roundrobin, then semifinals; in the final, ERG defeated Zacara 10-9 in overtime, the teams never apart more than 2 goals the whole match.
