Once again, a collection of the most significant performance boats across the nation are planning to converge on Lake Havasu in Tuesday kicks off the Desert Storm event with a meet and great at the Pirate Cove Resort in Park Moab Ca. Travel by car, boat or off road vehicle to this great venue. Wednesday we host the Fifth Annual "Krusin' for Kids". Underprivileged and special needs children and adults will be coming from all over Arizona to have their DREAMS come true, one KRUSE at a time. Volunteer participants will gather at the London Bridge Resort and take our guests out on beautiful Lake Havasu for a "Kruse" and back into the Resort pool where they will enjoy a fun-filled day created just for them! Hosted by Lake Racer, Win Farnsworth, Teague Custom Marine and the London Bridge Resort. We have teamed up with New Horizons and Milemarkers who are bringing their clients and families to enjoy the festivities. Wednesday Evening - Lake Racer presents a silent and live auction at the Desert Storm open house, with complimentary Budweiser products courtesy of Romer Beverge. The proceeds from the auction will be presented to our charities so they can continue the amazing work they do for families in need. Join us for a great evening of camaraderie with the best people in performance boating. Thursday will continue the excitement with our famous downtown Street Party. All of our participants and sponsors are invited to display their boats on McCulloch Boulevard which will be closed off for the event. Display and vendor booth areas are available. Last years Street Party was spectacular and thousands of people turned out from all over the area, so of course we have to make it even bigger this year. Registration and check in for the poker run and shootout will open Thursday with complimentary VIP parking & Budweiser products for participants at our VIP check in tent in the center of the Street Party action at the Springberg/McAndrew Park. Friday Morning the Poker Run participants meet at the Nautical Resort conference center for last minute registration, and the drivers meeting. Then at 10 AM the Parade of Power thru the London Bridge Channel begins the run. With 5 card stops open from 10:45 am to 2:30 pm and a helicopter photo station from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm, there is a lot of fun boating action at Desert Storm 2017! Saturday morning begins at the Nautical Resort conference center with registration and check-in for the Desert Storm Shootout. Then we move to the Site Six Marina for boat inspections and classification. The Shootout course starts off near Site Six Launch Ramp and runs

2 Page 2 two miles south on the California side. Set to run all day, we ll see who has the fastest boats in the west and the who s crowned King of the Desert!!! Spectators have a great view from areas around the Site Six Launch Ramp, our wet pits location. In the parking lot, we have display and vendor areas available. The Power in the Park Powersports Festival at Rotary Park is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This is a great place to see the boats plus the sponsors and vendors displaying and selling their products. Open from 10 Am to 10 Pm. Activities around the festival will include watching the Parade of Power as boats start the poker run thru the London Bridge Channel, Grand National Circle boat Racing, International PWC Freestyle Exhibition, and wild Flyboard shows. Also the CarQuest Hot Hundred Classic Boat & Car Show and Big O Burnout Contest. The public is invited at no charge to check out the boats and displays, enjoy the free concerts on the KJJJ/Flying X Concert Stage, and purchase food, drinks and Souvenirs. The Park VIP Tent for Poker Run participants will be event headquarters, with additional tent spaces available for sponsors. Friday evening we will open the poker hand cards and record the results. Mixed in the sealed card envelopes are wild cards instant winners of prizes donated by our sponsor! Saturday evening we ll award our participants with Street Party and Poker Run Best In Show Awards, the Shootouttop speed awards in each shootout class and crown the new King and Queen of the Desert! 8 Desert Storm Event Launch Ramp Locations Winsor Beach State Park is a public facility with a north and south ramp which will accommodate all sizes of boats. New docks have recently been installed. Park fees are per day. (928) London Bridge Road Lake Havasu, AZ Directions: From I-95 turn west on Mesquite Ave (just north of London Bridge Park) and continue on London Bridge road for 1.7 miles. Turn left at Industrial Rd into park. The launch ramp has seven lanes with lots of trailer parking. Launch ramp fee is $20.00 Slips are available on firstcome, first-served basis, no reservations accepted. Average size is 26 ft. Mufflers are required. Chevron Fuel is available. 9 Page 9 Host Hotel Nautical Resort The Nautical Resort has been the Lake Havasu home for the Desert Storm Poker Run since inception. With 130 waterfront rooms, the famous Turtle Beach Bar, Arizona s largest heated infinity-edge pool with it s Palapa Bar and Grill, plus the island-style restaurant and lounge, the Turtle Grill, it s our home away from home. The resort provides the perfect location for our event. It s private Launch Ramp is rustic, but provides quick access to the water when other ramps in town are lined up with Desert Storm specta- Site Six Marina - Shootout Headquarters In 2008 due to lake congestion during the Saturday Poker Run, it became necessary to move the run to Friday. Moving the day made the run safer, and also opened up a day in the schedule for an additional event the organizers had long wished for; A closed course speed trial or shootout! LakeRacer contacted the organizers of the famed Lake of the Ozarks Shootout for assistance in organizing this event and was able to bring Fire Chief Jeff Dorhauer from LOTO to assist with our event. Now, in our eighth year of holding the shootout, we have crowned a number of great King and Queen of the Desert at speeds over 180 mph. Page 10 Jim Nichols PO Box Phoenix, AZ Phone: (602) Fax: (928) LakeRacer LLC has its roots in an organization that began in 1997 as the Southern Arizona Hot Boat Association, a group of boaters in Arizona who met online at a website started by Jim Nichols. They enjoyed boating together in the Southwestern US and attending regattas and other events. In 1998, six families put together a list of ideas for better events and a new boat club, the Arizona Hot Boat Association, was formed. And a new event, the Heatwave Poker Run, was held at Lake Havasu s Nautical Resort in the spring of Ninety two boats came to the first event and had so much fun, we did it again six months later in October. Within three years we had over 600 members. As time passed and interests changed, most of the founders moved on to other activities and the old organization was shutdown. The new LakeRacer LLC was opened in 2005 to produce the new Desert Storm Event which continued building on those great past events. With a focus on charity fundraising, honoring our men and women in the US Military and promoting the performance boating lifestyle, we have grown our poker runs into nationally known, must attend events by performance boaters and industry insiders. Incorporating Krusin For Kids charity boat rides, a downtown street party boat show, a 200 boat poker run, and a high speed radar run competition bring spectators from all over the southwest and beyond. Produced by Jim and Claudia Nichols and joined in 2015 by Jim and Sunny Russell of DSM Events LLC, their families and tens of enthusiastic volunteers who love the excitement generated each year. We must give thanks to all of the participants and sponsors who continue to believe and promote these great events!
