2 2.2) ADMINISTRATION CHECKING/SCRUTINY Date: Friday 11 th August 2017 Time: 3:00pm 5:00 pm Location: Sign On Room (Adjacent to A Block Carports), or: Date: Saturday 12 th August 2017 Time: 7:00am Location: Office at the base of the Control Tower When attending Administration Checking the following documents must be presented - CAMS Competitors Licence, CAMS Drivers Licence and the CAMS Vehicle Log Book. A current CAMS affiliated Club Membership Card must also be presented. As your car must be in the Targeted Scrutiny system, please note that your safety equipment, (helmet, suit etc.) may also be requested to be seen by the scrutineers. After Administration Checking, the Chief Scrutineer will check your logbook and a decision will be made as to whether an audit is required if so, a time and location will be agreed. A safety check will be done on all cars on both Saturday and Sunday; this will be done in the pits, prior to each category practice/races. Entrants must ensure that all pit crew members complete a Pit Lane Disclaimer Form (see Item 2.4 below) Any car failing to display a scrutiny approval sticker will not be permitted to participate. 2.3) DRIVERS BRIEFINGS Attendance is compulsory and failure to be present, on time or sign on at the drivers briefing may result in a fine of at least $100.00, unless negated by the Stewards of the Meeting in exceptional circumstances. All drivers briefings will be held in the Wakefield Park Corporate Centre (garages 1 7 in pit lane). Drivers Briefing for all competitors will be on Saturday, 12 th August at 8.30am in the corporate centre. 2.4) PITCREW MEMBERS Following a requirement by CAMS Public Liability Insurers, all persons entering or stationed in pit lane during the time the track is closed for competition (hot pit lane) will be required to have completed and signed a Pit Lane Disclaimer form relating to the exclusion of liability, release and indemnity. The requirement applies to bona fide team members (the definition of which includes mechanics/pit crew/signalling crew) who are actually required to be in the hot pit lane to undertake their duties. Anyone who has not completed the disclaimer will not be permitted to enter the hot pit lane. Pit Lane Disclaimer forms are available at administration checking. Additional forms will be available at the Secretary of the Event Office. It is the responsibility of the Competitor to ensure that all persons stationed in the Hot Pit Lane have completed and submitted the forms to administrative checking for inclusion and attachment to their entry form. All persons working as pit crew in pit lane must be wearing suitable attire as per CAMS General Requirements, Schedule D Apparel section 4.6 Pit Crew Apparel. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to the pit lane and marshalling area any persons considered to be unsuitably dressed. 2.5) PIT LANE 1. Smoking is not permitted in the pits at any time during the meeting; furthermore NSW Health regulations BAN smoking in all sporting grounds in NSW. Further Regulations Page 2 of 5

3 2. Any person entering the pit lane must have the appropriate pass and must be attired in accordance with the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport. Wakefield Park Motorsport does not permit shorts in pit lane. 3. No person under the age of 16 years will be permitted in pit lane at any time, unless they are an appropriately licenced driver or competitor that is competing in the relevant event. 4. No equipment may be placed on the pit wall during the event. 5. A speed limit of 40km/h will apply in pit lane at all times. If this limit is exceeded during the race, the Clerk of Course may apply a drive thru penalty and/or the driver may be referred to the Stewards of the Meeting. 6. During the start of the warm-up/formation lap and the start of any race, only race officials and television crews specifically authorised by the Clerk of Course are permitted at the signalling wall. 7. The pit lane is divided into two lanes and it is defined as the area in which the speed limit applies (indicated by the 40km/h and de-restriction sign). Outside this area is considered to be part of the track. a. The lane closest to the pit signalling wall is the through/fast lane. b. The lane closest to the paddock area is the inner lane and is the only area where any work may be carried out on a car. c. The central corridor separates these two lanes and is reserved for officials only. 8. It is the responsibility of the Competitor to hold their car until it is safe to move from its pit. 9. Re-entry to the circuit will be controlled by an official. 10. Competitors must not paint lines on any part of pit lane. 11. A maximum of three (3) personnel for all categories may be present in pit lane for repairs during any event in which the vehicle is entered. 12. Only two (2) persons per participating vehicle and essential officials are permitted at the pit signalling wall during the event. No one is to be on the wall during race starts except for race officials. 13. Signalling is permitted in the area that has Armco/pipe railing protecting pit crew members from vehicles in pit lane. Signalling is also permitted at the raised concrete pit lane signalling area located opposite pit lane garages 28 to 36. Under no circumstances are persons permitted to stand against the pit wall in unprotected areas. Any team not adhering to this rule may be referred to the Stewards of the Meeting and may be excluded from the event. 14. Pit crew members are not permitted to proceed to the pit signalling wall until all vehicles have departed the grid at the start of the race. 15. There will be no refuelling permitted in pit lane at any time during this meeting. 16. Tender vehicles and race vehicles are to be removed from pit lane before the commencement of the following session or race. 17. There must be a clear access along the rear of pit lane garages for emergency vehicles 24/7 immediately behind the pit lane garages. Support vehicles must be parked no closer than 6 metres from the rear of pit lane garages to allow emergency response. Equally, no temporary structures, vehicle parts or components can block access in this 6 metre exclusion zone. 18. No person other than event officials may be on the wall during a race start and no person should approach the pit lane wall until after the emergency vehicles following the last competition vehicle passes the start line. When exiting Pit Lane drivers MUST stay to the left of the track until they have exited Turn ) PROGRESSIVE GRIDS If the Category Sporting Regulations do not specify grid determination then refer to Race Meeting Standing Regulations, Article 5.3 Grid Positions, of the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport. 2.7) GRID CONFIGURATION A 2 x 2 grid configuration will apply. Pole position is furthest from the pit wall on Driver s Right. Racing is in a clockwise direction. 2.8) STARTING PROCEDURE 1. The start procedures shall be in accordance with Article 2.9 of the 2017 CAMS NSW Motor Race Championship Sporting Regulations. Non-Championship Standing Start: The field will leave marshalling area on a formation lap. There is to be no weaving after Turn 10. Once the grid is set, drivers will receive a 5 second board followed by the red light held for 3 5 seconds, ONCE THE RED LIGHT GOES OUT DRIVERS ARE TO COMMENCE RACING. Non-Championship Rolling Start: These categories will leave Pit Exit behind the Safety Car and proceed on a formation lap to set the pace. Once the field reaches Turn 9, the Safety Car will turn its lights off and accelerate away from the field. All competitors must start forming up 2 x 2 on the back straight between Turns 9 & 10. On the exit of Turn 10 a 2 x 2 grid configuration MUST apply. The cars in the front two position MUST control the field at no more than 80kl/h. Once the starter is satisfied that all cars are in position and ready, the starter will display a green flag and ONCE THE GREEN FLAG D ROPS YOU ARE TO COMMENCE RACING. If a problem arises as the cars approach the start line the green flag shall not be displayed and the field, led by the car in pole position, shall complete a second formation lap at the same speed, prior to starting the race. The race shall be shortened by one lap for each extra formation lap completed. Any competitor jumping the start MAY receive a time penalty at the Clerk of Course s discretion. 2. Any car that encounters a problem during the warm up/formation lap, unable to keep up or take its place on the grid, may be driven into pit lane instead of proceeding to the grid. The car may start from pit exit, at the direction of an official and start the race once all the vehicles have passed. If the car is driven to the grid it must start from rear of grid, do not try and drive down to take your original grid position. 3. No person other than event officials may be on the wall during a race start and no person should approach the pit lane wall until after the emergency vehicles following the last competition vehicle passes the start line. 2.9) SAFETY CAR 1. A Safety Car will be used in accordance with Race Meeting Standing Regulation Article 6.12 of the 2017 CAMS Manual of Motor Sport. 2. All laps conducted under Safety Car conditions shall be counted as race laps unless otherwise specified in the relevant Category Sporting Regulations. 3. No person other than event officials may be on the wall during a race restart and no person should approach the pit lane wall until after the last competition vehicle passes the start line. 5 2.10) LAST LAP BOARD The last lap board will be used during this event. 2.11) RED FLAG In the event of a red flag being displayed during either practice or racing, all competitors are to make their way into pit lane. Directions will be given from there. If a race is red flagged, at the discretion of the Clerk of Course, the following race may be conducted prior to the completion of the race that was red flagged. This will allow for the vehicles to be remarshalled before the restart and help to prevent major delays in the program. (Refer Race Meeting Standing Regulations, Article 6.13 Stopping the Race, or Article 6.14 Suspending and Resuming the Race as detailed in the CAMS Manual of Motor Sport) 2.12) MARSHALLING AREA All pit crew members are to move to the back of the marshalling area prior to the race vehicles departing to enter the race track when directed to by Marshals. Crew members are not to return to any vehicle experiencing difficulty departing the marshalling area until all other vehicles have departed the area. 2.13) PENALTIES The Clerk of the Course and/or Stewards of The Meeting may impose penalties in accordance with Race Meeting Standing Regulation 9. Where a penalty is applied as a result of a decision of a Judge of Fact, there is no right of appeal against the penalty. 2.14) CANCELLATION OF THE EVENT The organisers reserve the right to postpone or cancel this event in accordance with NCR 59. In the event of the meeting being cancelled due to force majeure, a credit of entry fee, less an administration fee of $50 will be made to a future event. 2.15) ENQUIRIES We are here to ensure you have a safe, fun weekend. As venue owner and operators, this is of paramount importance to us. If you have problems or questions, please contact the Event Secretary Office at the base of the Control Tower. 2.16) TRAILER/TRANSPORTER PARKING No private cars, car trailers or transporters are to be left outside paddock carports or garages. They are to be parked in the designated parking areas. There MUST be a 6 metre clearance between the rear wall of the Pit Lane Garages and any support vehicle or temporary structure for emergency vehicle access (see Item above).
