5 2014 Mark Galloway 150 Shootout Race Procedures Tires will be available at the track Friday, May 23. All qualifying and race tires are to be impounded and not to leave the facility. Tires will be released Saturday to scuff before qualifying. If any tires are found to have left the facility, they will be deemed illegal and not be allowed to compete. The break is the only time you can put new tires on. Two allowed. This is the only time you can change tires unless they're flat or air is coming out. If not flat, 2 lap penalty. 2 used tires can be checked in for inventory. 1. The driver s meeting is mandatory. Driver and spotter must attend. Failure to attend will result in qualifying lap penalty. Spotters must check in with race control before the race. If your spotter does not check in, start at the back. You must scan Race Control. Channel will be posted at the tech trailer. Duplicate car numbers will generally be allowed. Cars that are too similar in appearance in the opinion of the officials may have to change. 2. Time Trials A. Qualifying order will be determined by pill draw during sign in a tech before hot laps. B. Warm up lap then two consecutive timed laps. C. Once you have taken a white flag, you have an official time. No re-qualifying 3. START: All starts will take place at the designated line in turn 4. Once the pace car has pulled off, the leader sets the pace. He can gradually increase speed until the start line. No shot gun starts, no accordion starts, slowing, weaving or brake checking. No decrease in acceleration once the pace car is off. If you are warned for jumping a start, that will be your only warning for the remainder of the race. 4. On the original start do not pass until the start/finish line. Stay in line. 5. If the Yellow or Red is displayed before leader has completed one lap, there will be a complete restart. All cars retain their position unless they pit or receive assistance. As soon as the leader completes one lap, there will not be a complete restart and all yellow laps will count. 6. YELLOW FLAG: Yellow flag laps will count. Do not race to the Yellow. Hold your position. The pace car will pick you up out of turn 4. On re-starts, no passing until the green flag is thrown, and only to the right until after crossing the start/finish line. Attempting to pass to the left before the start finish line will be a stop and go penalty. An attempt will be considered when the front bumper cover of the rear car aligns inside the rear bumper cover of the car in front. Remain single file until directed by the officials. Disabled vehicles will be dropped on the 3/8 oval, not your pit. You can be pushed to the pit. 7. If you stop on or near the racing surface to deliberately draw a yellow, two lap stop and go penalty. 8. RESTARTS: Double file. At about 2 to go, lapped cars will move to the inside and fall to the rear of the lead lap cars. A. The first car one lap down when the caution fell will get a 'free pass' around the pace car and get a lap back. Pass to the inside. B. We must go a full green flag lap for a Free Pass. C. No free pass in the last 10 laps or if the designated car is involved in the caution. D. First place can go to the inside or outside. After that, odd positions to the inside, even positions go to the outside. E. The leader can go at the first line in turn 4. Do not change lanes until the start finish line

6 9. RED FLAG: Stop behind the pace car. Pits are closed. Pits will open when the track goes yellow again. Yellow flag laps after a red do not count. A push start when the the track returns to yellow after a red flag for a car not involved does not count as assistance. Any car joining the field after the one to go signal has been given must restart at the rear. No Crew members allowed on the track. No working on the car on the track. Driver must stay in the car. 10. We will take a break at lap 100 and then The Shootout is the last 50. If the track is yellow after lap 95, we will bring you in for the break as soon as the field is organized and under control. You'll have 5 minutes once the last car has made it into the pit. The pace car will be parked in turn 1. After 5 minutes the pace car will pull out and make 4 pace laps. After two to go has been given, all cars leaving the pits will have to line up at the back. You can change 2 tires. 11. The race will be extended beyond the advertised distance when the race is under caution before the leader crosses the start/finish line for the white flag. The race will then conclude with one attempt of a green, white, checkered flag. Any subsequent restarts will be with a green and white together then the checkered. All additional laps will be counted and scored. 12. After lap 145 we must have 5 green flag laps. They do not have to be consecutive. Once the white flag has been displayed to the leader, the next flag will be the checkered. If there is a problem, the yellow light will come on with the green. Race to the finish. You will be scored as you cross the line. If the track is blocked the red will come out. There will be one attempt at Green/White/Checker Any additional restarts will be the Green and White together. All additional laps will be counted and scored.
