1 WEEKLY RELEASE - JUNE 3 Six WDA teams as well as the top individual golfers in the conference will compete in the Tournament which is Tuesday, June 7 and Wednesday, June 8 in Minot. West Fargo won last year s title. The last time Minot hosted the Meet was , in 2013, was the last WDA team to win the title...jake De- Forest of St. Mary s, in 2013, is the last WDA golfer to win medalist honors at the Meet... and tied for third at the West Region Meet while Dickinson and Jamestown tied for sixth ( and Dickinson won the tiebreak which is based on the score of the fifth golfer for each team)...minot s Cody Reynolds became the first golfer since (BHS Kent Hanson) to win back-toback West Region titles. Minot put together another solid round of golf, winning the West Region Tournament for the first time since The Magi have won its last six meets. Dickinson did not compete at last year s state meet., the squad earned a state tournament berth with its sixth place finish (343) at the West Region Tournament. Dickinson won a tie-break with Jamestown for the sixth spot. Aiden Mansfield s round of 75 was good for all-region honors. Jamestown had a team score of 343. However, Jamestown will be represented by a couple of golfers at the June 7-8 meet in Minot. Austin Rene, who already qualified, earned all-region honors with a round o 76. Eric DeBoer s round of 80 earned him to compete as an individual golfer at the meet. 2 WEEKLY RELEASE - MAY 27 WDA teams will head to the Magic City on Tuesday, May 31 for the West Region Tournament. The top six teams qualify for the state tournament which Minot will also host (June 7-8). St. Mary s won last year s region title. Minot s 320 scoring average earned it the WDA title...three times this season a playoff has been needed to determine a medalist, including twice last weekend...legacy and are the only teams that have not had a golfer break 80 this season...the top 10 golfers based on scoring average earn all-wda honors...minot and were the only teams to post a WDA meet title. 3 WEEKLY RELEASE - MAY 20 The final two WDA regular season tournaments will be held this weekend with the Invite on May 20 and the Invite on May 21. Jackson Davis had the best score or tied for the best round in both events last week...minot (321.8 scoring avg.) is closing in on the WDA title which goes to the team with the best scoring average...ten golfers broke 80 at the Invite...Windy conditions led to higher scores at the Links of N.D. course east of...minot s Cody Reynolds is currently rated first in the WDA for scoring average (76.14) Minot continues its push toward the WDA title following a pair of meet wins last week.
