8 Salem Lake Salem Lake is located minutes from downtown Winston-Salem and offers a peaceful, nature escape from the city. It is a 365-acre lake with a 7-mile trail that offers a pretty view of the lake from all directions. J. Reynolds, who founded the tobacco company R. J. Reynolds Tobacco.
