Every archer shoots 1 arrow per end and the best one wins eventually. Awarded in 3 categories: Recurve (distance: 70 meter) Compound (distance: 50 meter) Recurve cadets (distance: 60 meter) Team Events (total 7 events): Recurve men team Recurve women team Recurve mixed team Compound team Compound mixed team Recurve cadet team Recurve cadet mixed team Formation of Teams: Teams can be formed of people who: belong to same archery club live in same city belong to same sport-organization (national federation does not count) For recurve seniors - we have separate men team and women team. For compound and cadet teams - it is necessary to have 3 team members. Gender is not important.

There are medals and diplomas given together with prizes from our sponsors. Prize draw: There is a traditional prize draw amongst all archers participating. The draw takes place at awarding ceremony. To win a prize, you have to be present at awarding ceremony. Schedule: Friday, arrival day 14:00-19:00 competition field opened for practice 16:00-19:00 equipment inspection Saturday, ranking round, Gold Game and team event 9:30-10:00 equipment inspection 10:00-14:00 opening ceremony, 3 practice ends, ranking round, Gold Game 15:00-17:00 team event 19:00-22:00 evening programme Sunday, mixed team and individual matches 10:00-12:00 mixed team event 12:30-15:00 individual elimination round 15:15 award ceremony Organizers leave the right to change schedule according to number of participants Saturday evening programme: There is a barbeque taking place in Saturday evening (included in entry fee). Different grilling products, salads and non-alcoholic beverages are offered. The evening is accompanied by games, music and some dancing. Place where to meet old friends and find new ones.

5 I N V I TAT I O N PAC K AG E p a g e 4 Location: Competition takes place in central Estonia, in Järvakandi. Järvakandi is situated in Rapla county - 75 km from capital Tallinn, 50 km from Pärnu. Closest airports are Tallinn and Riga. There is a bus connection between Järvakandi and Tallinn/Pärnu. Getting there: In case you need help with organizing transportation from airports or marinas (Tallinn has connection with Helsinki and Stockholm), do not hesitate to contact organizers. Transportation fees depend on nr of people and route.

There are 2 options within walking distance from the competition field (school hostel and youth center), but also some possibilities for private accommodation. If you come by car, then within 40km radius selection is bigger. School hostel in Järvakandi Basic accommodation with price of 7-10 per person. Shared toilets and showers are located at the end of corridors (separate for men and women). Rooms are with different size, from 2 persons to 5 persons. Youth center in Järvakandi This newly renovated building offers basic rooms with price 10 per person per night. Shared toilets and showers are located at the hall. Rooms are with different size and bed types. There are beds which are a bit shorter than usual - or for longer people - possibility to sleep on normal sized double-mattresses. Contact organizers to check availability of different rooms. First come, first serviced principle. Jõe Guest House in Rapla Located in Rapla, a bit less than 30km from Järvakandi. Different room types and prices. Served in English, Russian and Finnish. Also possible to request breakfast service. 7 I N V I TAT I O N PAC K AG E p a g e 6 History of the competition The JÄRVAKANDI OPEN is held already for 46th time. This tournament was named as Järvakandi Grand Prix and also Järvakandi lahtised in the past. It was also a well known competition in Soviet Union. Now, for the 7th year it is also named as Toomas Kivilo memorial competition. In past 10 years there have been archers from following countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and USA. In addition to local sponsors, some well-known archery companies have been sponsoring the event with their products: Hoyt, Easton, Fivics, Win&Win. The goal of organizers Main goal is the happiness of archers. We are doing our best to offer high level organization with superb atmosphere. It does not matter if you come alone or with friends - you are always welcome and we guarantee good memories and new archeryfriends. Organizers are working on making this event World Ranking event. It will not happen this year, but hopefully in next few years. Toomas Kivilo Memorial Competition Toomas Kivilo was one of the founders of Järvakandi Archery club. He was a true sportsman inside and out - archer, coach, club leader, organizer, judge and advisor. He had many students who reached international level - Kersti Veer and his son Raul Kivilo are just some examples. He also inspired countless number of people to start archery. He was the coach and mentor to most people who are organizing this tournament. To honour his memory, this competition is also named as his Memorial Competition since 2008.
