1 City of Port Jervis 2018 Summer Recreation Schedule SUMMER PLAYGROUND SCHEDULE Supervised Playgrounds will open on Monday June 25, 2018 and will close on Fri. August 10, The Port Jervis Recreation Commission will open three (3) Supervised Playgrounds this summer; Church St. Park, Farnum Park and Riverside Park. Supervised Playground Hours Monday-Friday 9:00 am- 3:30 pm Children can participate in many activities during supervised playground hours. Activities include street hockey, basketball, softball, kickball, tennis, wiffleball and many more. Board games and card games are also available. All activities are FREE of charge unless otherwise indicated! Playground Special Event Days: Mondays starting July 2 The Little Chefs of Rec at the Youth Center Tuesdays & Thursdays starting June 26 Basketball at Church St. Wednesdays starting June 27 Softball at Riverside Park Fridays starting July 6 Beach Party Friday Cooking and Beach Friday starts at 12:30 pm. Basketball and Softball will start at 1:15 pm. Offered daily at the Youth Center and Supervised Playgrounds- Kan Jam, Bean Bag Toss, Foosball, Pickle Ball, Basketball, Wiffleball, Frisbee, and much more will be available each day at the playgrounds. The Youth Center will have the Wii, PS4 and XBOX 360 game systems available along arts and crafts, ping pong, air hockey and NETFLIX!. Additional Funding provided by: NYS Office of Children and Family Services through the Orange County Youth Bureau.

2 SUMMER YOUTH CENTER SCHEDULE The Youth Center s summer schedule will begin on Monday June 25 and end on Friday August 10, 2018 Summer Youth Center Hours Monday-Friday 9:00 am-3:30 pm Children can play video games on our Wii, PS3 and PS4 plus XBOX 360 systems or play ping pong, shuffle board, foosball or play pool. Board games and card games are available. Kids can also watch NETFLIX on our BIG screen TV. Free WiFi. Youth Center Special Event Days Mondays beginning July 2 Little Chefs of PJ Rec Tuesdays beginning July 3 Treasure Hunt Walks Wednesdays beginning July 11 Make It and Take It Arts and Crafts Thursdays beginning July 5 Fun with Food by Shoprite All Youth Center special events will start at 12:30 pm. All programs and events are subject to change! FREE SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM Funded by the New York State Ed. Dept. Monday-Friday from July 5 to August 9. Lunches will be delivered to Church St. Park, Farnum Park, Riverside Park and the Youth Center each weekday at 12:00 pm. This program is FREE to Port Jervis School District Students or Port Jervis youth ages of 18 and under!! Children ages 7-18 may sign up at any of the three playgrounds or at the Recreation office. CHILDREN UNDER 7 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A PARENT OR A BABYSITTER (16 years of age or older) DURING PLAYGROUND AND YOUTH CENTER HOURS!! Permission forms will be distributed to children and need to be returned to Rec. staff.

3 ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS PROGRAMS NEW this summer- Co-ed Youth Flag Rugby Try Rugby at Church Street Park Monday afternoons 1:00 to 2:30, June 25 to Aug. 6 FREE OF CHARGE and Open to Boys and Girls age 7 to 11 No Equipment or Experience Necessary! Sponsored by Upper Delaware Rugby Football Club Co-ed Youth Street Hockey Games are played at Church St. Park every Monday- Wednesday-Friday mornings from 9:30 am-11:30 am. FREE of charge and open to boys and girls ages 7 and up. Street Hockey starts on June 25 and ends on August 8. Co-ed Youth Softball Games are played at Riverside Park every Wednesday afternoon at 1:15 pm. FREE of charge and open to boys and girls ages Co-ed softball starts on June 27 and end on August 1. Co-ed Youth Track Track events include-100 meter dash, high jump, shot put, and more. Track is held every Tuesday and Thursday evening at the Port Jervis High School from 6:00pm-8:00 pm. Track begins on June 28 and ends on August 9. FREE of charge and open to boys and girls ages 5 and up. Beach Party Friday Every Friday afternoon from 12:45 pm-3:00 pm at West End Beach. Port Jervis DIAL-A-BUS will pick up kids and bring down to the beach. Certified lifeguards will be on duty plus playground supervisors will be on hand. Play kickball, wiffle ball, kan-jam, corn hole and more. Go swimming and enjoy ice pops. DIAL-A-BUS will pick up kids at Church St. Park at 12:30, Farnum Park at 12:45 and The Youth Center & Riverside Park at 1:00 pm. DIAL-A-BUS will return kids to Church St. at 2:30, Farnum Park at 2:45 and The Youth Center & Riverside at 3:00 pm.

4 SPORTS CAMPS Basketball Camp Camp will consist of Drills, Competitions, and Pick-Up Games. Camp will be held at Church St. Park Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1:15-2:45 pm. For boys and girls ages Camp will start on June 26 and end August 9. No pre-registration required. Sign up every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. This camp is FREE of charge. Tennis Camp Tennis camp will be held at Church St. Park the week of July 2-6. Camp hours are 9:00 am- 12:30 pm. Lunch (bring own lunch and drink) will be held from 11:00 am- 11:30 am. Camp will consist of drills, competitions and games. Participants will learn the rules of the game and how to serve, receive serve and volley. Camp is for boys and girls ages Registration will be held at the Youth Center June 6 and 7 from 6:00-8:00 pm.late registration will be held the first day of camp- July 2 at 9:00 am. This camp is FREE of charge. Soccer Star Camp Train with former Division 1 College Soccer players. Two 1-week camps will be held at the Port Jervis High School for boys and girls ages Camp weeks are June and July COST $100 for one week or $160 for both weeks. Sibling discounts are available- $80 per sibling for 1 week or $70 per sibling for both weeks. Camp times are 9:00 am -1:00 pm. Lunch (bring own lunch and drink) is 11:00 am -11:30 am. All participants will receive quality instruction focusing on individual skills, tactics and team play. Agility, speed and power training will be covered. All participants receive a camp t-shirt! Registration will be held at the Youth Center June 6 and 7 from 6:00-8:00 pm and also at the Soap Box Derby on June 10. Make checks payable to: Port Jervis Recreation Volleyball Camp This 1-week volleyball camp will be held at the High School Gym for girls entering grades Camp week is June COST is $50 per person. Sibling discounts are available. Camp time is 9:00 am-1:00 pm. Lunch (bring own lunch and drink) is 11:00 am-11:30 am. All participants will receive instruction focusing on individual skills and team play from the Port Jervis Volleyball staff and Varsity players. Girls will learn and improve on passing, setting, hitting and serving. Registration will be held at the Youth Center on June 6 and 7 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. Late registration will be held on Day 1 of camp- June 25 at the High School Gym from 8:00 am- 9:00 am. Make checks payable to: Port Jervis Recreation

5 WEST END PARK, BOAT LAUNCH AND BEACH The Port Jervis Recreation Commission will open West End Beach, located on the beautiful Delaware River on Friday, June 15 and close on Sunday August 19, West End Beach schedule: Monday, Thursday and Friday 12:00 pm -6:00 pm Weekends 11:00 am-6:00 pm West End Beach is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Certified lifeguards are on duty during beach hours. West End Beach Guidelines 1. There is a $5 parking fee for all non-city of Port Jervis residents Saturday and Sundays. Parking fee includes all vehicles. 2. No Alcoholic beverages permitted 3. No Smoking 4. No Glass bottles permitted 5. Swimming is NOT permitted outside designated swimming area, when there is thunder or lightning or when lifeguards are off duty 6. Appropriate language and behavior is expected of all swimmers 7. Diving is NOT permitted 8. Swimmers under the age of 12 MUST be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older 9. Beach schedule is subject to change.

Bring blankets and chairs. Movie starts at sunset. FREE HOT DOGS AND POPCORN!! Concerts in the Riverside Park Please join us for great entertainment and fun in the Park. Concerts are held at 7:00 pm and are FREE of charge and for all ages. Rain dates are the following day except The Parting Glass- their rain date is July 27. Thursday July 12- Rich Wilson. Wednesday July 18- Mike Pacer An Orchestra of One. Rain date July 19 Wednesday July 25- The Parting Glass- Irish Folk Trio. Rain date July 27 Wednesday August 1- The Carl Richards Band. Rain date August 2 Wednesday August 8- DJ G 80 s Night in the Park. Rain date August 9 Farnum Park Concerts Broome Street Wind Ensemble Band will perform 3 FREE concerts at Farnum Park Mondays June 25, July 9 and July 23. Concerts will be held 7:00 pm. In case of inclement weather concert will be held at Drew United Methodist Church. 7 Field Trips Transportation for all trips is on COACH buses with air conditioning, bathrooms and DVDs. THE BRONX ZOO Join us on Wednesday July 18, 2018 as we travel to the most famous Zoo in the world! Charter Bus will leave Port (parking lot next to Rite-Aid) at 7:30 am sharp! Bus will return approximately 6:30 pm. Cost is only $30 per person. This includes admission to the park and transportation. Additional costs for the following: Bug Carousel, Butterfly Garden, Children s Zoo, Congo Gorilla Forest, 4-D Theater, Jungle World, Wild Asia Monorail, Zoo Shuttle, Nature Trek. These exhibits cost $6 per person per exhibit. The Bronx Zoo is home to more than 4,000 animals and 650 species, many of which are endangered or threatened. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older. Limited Tickets Available. Sorry NO REFUNDS. NEW York Yankees Baseball Game at Yankee Stadium The New York Yankees vs. The Baltimore Orioles. Wednesday August 1, Game starts at 1:05 pm. Charter Bus will leave Port (parking lot next to Rite- Aid) at 9:30 am sharp! Bus will return approximately 6:30 pm. Cost is only $50.00 per person. This includes ticket and transportation.
