3 Dear friends, The Swedish Ju-Jitsu Federation welcomes you to the 2018 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS Our federation is very proud to host for the second time a Ju-Jitsu World Championships in Malmö. We welcome everyone for a weekend of sports, assemblies and technical meetings. We hope that you will also take your time to discover Malmö and enjoy our lovely city. Good luck to all delegations! 4 Dear sport friends! It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you all again in Malmö, Sweden, at the World Championship for Seniors. Every big event, like the World Championship, is an opportunity for meeting friends, making new friendships, but also for practicing not only what we have trained for, but also values and principles our sport and our organizations are believing in, such us clean sport, fair play and ethics, already known to the ancient samurais. After ten months from the last championship with the upcoming youth in Abu Dhabi, the United Emirates, we meet again, this time for the Senior generation of athletes in DUO, Fighting and Ju-Jitsu. I would especially like to thank Swedish Federation for accepting this big challenge their organizational skills have been tested, but also proven on many occasions. That being said, I would also like to mention that an event like this cannot be organized without a support of local organizations, local community, sponsors and, of course, many volunteers. Without them, we could not have successful organization and, therefore, I am using this opportunity also to thank them for their time, assistance and support for the organization. Dear friends, athletes, coaches, referees, parents, supporters! Thank you all for being a part of ju-jitsu. I wish you all have a great time in Malmö. And for those who will be in the center of attention and action, the athletes, I wish to stress again our wishes for good performance, good results and, beyond all, our wish that you remain ambassadors of skills, knowledge, fair play and the spirit of ju-jitsu. 3. Hotels (managed by the Swedish Ju-Jitsu Federation) The organizer is providing two official hotels for all delegations in order to facilitate the meetings, the registration and weigh-in of all

The official hotels are Scandic Triangeln and Scandic Malmö City The price of accommodation (with full board) is: Single room: 150 USD or 125 euro/pers/night Double room: 104 USD or 87 euro /pers/night Room with three beds: 92 USD or 77 euro /pers/night Room with four beds: 86 USD or 72 euro /pers/night Room with five beds: 80 USD or 67 euro /pers/night The 4 and 5 bed rooms are available in a limited amount! So please make your reservation quickly. Included: All breakfast from the day after check-in Dinner from the nights booked Lunch buffet for all competition days (for those who book the official hotels) The hotel and transfer form shall be returned to the Swedish organization no later than October 22. 8 After October 22 we will not guarantee that we can provide any accommodations. Travel expenses and organization costs are the responsibility of the participating countries. The cost for the accommodation and the participation must be paid by each federation to the organizer. If a team chooses not to use the proposed official hotels the organizing committee will debit the team with 120 USD or 100 euro per person for organizing costs related to the competition. Moreover, such a team will not benefit by any of the additional services (such as meals or transports etc.) 4. Transports and travel (managed by the Swedish Ju-Jitsu Federation) Transfer will be arranged between the hotels and venue. We highly recommend your team to use the Kastrup airport in Copenhagen, We will welcome you there and provide you with train tickets, if you have booked them through us. The cost for train tickets is 22 USD or 18 euro/person two ways. A volunteer will guide you to the train and accompany you to the station Triangeln. (Exit NORTH) The travel time from the airport to the hotel is 15 minutes. 5. Right to participate and categories Athletes must be presented and registered by their National Federation. Following 2010 JJIF TC and GA decision: max 2 athletes per category are allowed. The maximum number of athletes per country per categories is 2, with an overall quota of 10 men, 7 women and 6 (2 per category) duo couples per respective system. Duo system JuJitsu: Men, Women and Mixed classic Men, Women and Mixed show Fighting system JuJitsu: Men -56, -62, -69, -77, -85, -94, +94 Women -49, -55, -62, -70, +70 JiuJitsu (Ne-Waza): Men -56, -62, -69, -77, -85, -94, +94 Women -49, -55, -62, -70, +70 If a competitor participates in the Duo competition, he/she is allowed to be part of a mixed couple and of a couple of his/her gender on the same tournament in Show. All competitors must have a legal passport of the nation that they represent in the championships and sports passports of their respective nation! 8

Referees Each country should provide minimum number of referees according to the following table : No of Athletes per country EUROPE ASIA AMERICA AFRICA OCEANIA Min. Number of Referees A fee of 800 USD (680 euro) will be requested for not having the right number of referees and collected by the JJIF on the spot (conditioned for participation before the draw). This rule doesn t apply to new members during the first 3 years. Referees should attend the briefing meeting and be available Neither the organizing committee nor the JJIF will be responsible for not respecting this obligation. However, if there won t be enough referees for the competition to take place in good conditions, the JJIF Technical Commission may decide to complement the pool of referees with Continental referees. 8. Financial conditions When your registration is confirmed you will receive an with the payment details (amount, bank account etc.). All countries MUST pay everything in advance, unless an agreement is made with Mr. Emil Gustafsson. 10 9. Registration to the event Must be done on: Only National Federations can subscribe officials and athletes. Every participating nation MUST present at least one coach with the certificate of WADA course CoachTrue The course can be made in advance and even in the hotel but the coaches will not get their accreditation before the course is done. GoTo: proof must be taken with you to accreditation. Or an official document approved and signed by the NADA authority, about following the course in the own country needs to be handover by accreditation. 10. (MIX) Team Competition Compilation The Mix team competition contains the next categories: DUO Men/Women or MIX, Fighting Men -70, -85 and +85, Women -62 and +62 and JiuJitsu/Ne-Waza Men -70, -85 and +85, Women -62 and +62. A team cannot exist of coaches, medics or other officials of the Federation 12. PARA JiuJitsu All athletes with a physical disability are welcome to compete at the World Championship Ju- Jitsu Sweden. Categories (JiuJitsu-Newaza and DUO) will be created after closure date of the event, based on the weight and disability the athlete haves. There is NO fee needed to be paid, hotel need to be covered by the National Federation. The amount of Para Athletes does not affect the needed amount of referees. No penalty fee will be charged for a less of referees. 12. Gala banquet (managed by the Swedish Ju-Jitsu Federation) The first weekend of December the restaurants are starting to celebrate Christmas by serving the famous Swedish Christmas buffet called Julbord. We are proud to announce that we will serve Julbord as a gala banquet. You will have the opportunity to try many different dishes so regardless of your culture or religion you will find plenty of food on the buffet. The price for the banquet is 48 USD or 40 euro /person, one beer or a glass of wine included. 13. Deadlines Registrations of teams October 22 (competitors, leaders, referees, officials) Payment October 31 (entry fee, hotel, train ticket, gala banquet) VISA application September Back number Will be sent out from Ju-Sports and must be stitched on by the competitors/federations themselves before the start of the competition. Please sent the delivery address (office address, with postal code and city) for your back numbers (number of athletes +5%) to events@jjif.org for the back numbers. All federations are responsible for stitching the back numbers themselves. Its NOT allowed to participate in the competition without a official even back number. Orders made after the 1 st of November will not be guaranteed to be on time add the federations. Be aware that ordered after 1 st of November the FEDERATION must collect the back numbers at accreditation and you must go to the stitching room where YOU MUST wait (maybe in a line) for stitching of the number on the Gi s. Extra costs need to be paid. 11

12 15. Control of entries Control of entries and distribution of accreditations will be at Scandic Triangeln. There will be two lines, the green line for those countries that made everything in advance, so they can just collect their accreditations. The red line is for those who still have an unsolved issue and this line will take much longer time, so please make sure that everything is in order before you start your travel to Sweden. The accreditation will be electronic, and this is your ticket to the whole event. (Entry to venue, food, etc.) If you lose your badge we can provide you with a new one, but this will always cost you 120 USD or 100 Euros/badge) Please keep your card with you at all times. 16. Weigh-in The official weigh-in will be scheduled the day before the competition for the categories concerned. The weigh-in will take place at Scandic Triangeln for Friday and for Saturday and Sunday it will be in the venue. 17. Draw and coach meeting Each national federation must send at least one and maximum two delegates to attend the draw and coach meeting. The draw and meetings will take place at Scandic Triangeln. Only coaches with accreditation are allowed. 18. Athlete commitment. Attached as pdf file add these outlines and also available by download: All (even those who already signed one the past years) athletes MUST sign and fill in the requested data, and handover (by the head of the delegation or the head coach) at accreditation the Athletes Commitment. Without handover of the signed documents its not allowed to participate in all JJIF events. 12
