Iran Luxembourg Denmark Serbia Sweden Italy Cyprus Portugal Tyrkey Belgium Latvia PARTICIPATION CONDITIONS 1. Each country may enter 1 boys team and 1 girls team only. Only school teams are allowed to participate. 2. Each participating team must be appointed by the official school sport organization. All players must be registered at the same school as full time students. 3. The following are not entitled to participate: a) Pupils of a vocational school - i.e. young people attending a vocational school in addition to their vocational training b) School teams from schools giving sports training without any general education c) Part time sports schools (schools taking pupils from different schools for instruction in sports part time) d) Teams set up in companies, universities or other institutions 4. All players must be born in

3 5. A delegation of one team consists of maximum 17 persons: 14 players, 2 coaches and the head of delegation. A delegation of two teams consists of maximum 33 persons: 28 players, 4 coaches and the head of delegation. The head of delegation is the official contact person of the delegation. DATES 6. According to an agreement between the ISF and the European Handball Federation, the referees are chosen by the latter based on the proposals by the national handball federations in countries that are members of the ISF. 1. Teams will arrive on the 29 th of March Teams will depart after breakfast on the 6 th of April Teams, who arrive in Ikast-Brande prior to the 29 th of March 2008, will be charged the ISF fixed rate of 103 EUR per person, per day for extra accommodation and meals. 4. Teams, who stay after breakfast on the 6 th of April 2008, will be charged the same rate. 5. When the distance between Ikast-Brande and the capital of a participating country exceeds 5000 kms, the delegation has the right to arrive one day earlier at the normal rate of 40 EUR per person, providing they inform the Organising Committee before the 15 th of February The Organising Committee cannot guarantee the availability of accommodation in the official places of accommodation outside the period of the championship nor for persons, who are not part of the official delegation. Each delegation must pay their own travel expenses to and from Denmark. 2. The organisers will be responsible for local transfers when the delegations arrive at the following destinations: By plane: Billund Airport or Karup Airport By train: The railway station of Ikast, Herning or Brande 3. The organizers are responsible for transport to playing venues, dining places and cultural events respectively during the championship. ACCOMMODATION, MEALS AND SERVICES 1. All players and coaches and heads of delegations will be accommodated in the following places: The Sport School of Ikast Hotel Medi in Ikast ( ) Hotel Dalgas in Brande ( ) Hotel Scandic in Herning ( ) 2. All TC members, ISF and EHF delegates and the referees will be accommodated in Hotel Medi in Ikast ( ) 3. The organizers are responsible for the participants' accommodation and full board during the championship (from evening meal the 29 th of March until breakfast the 6 th of April lunch packet on departure day will be available on request). 4. Breakfast will be served at the accommodation places. Lunch and dinner will be served at the Sport School of Ikast next to Sports Centre Ikast except for the teams accommodated in Brande who will have lunch in the playing venues in Brande. 5. Playing venues will be Sports Centre Ikast, Hyldgaardshallerne and Brandehallerne.

5 6. A bank office will be available in Sports Centre Ikast on arrival. 7. Internet services and laundry service will be available. FINANCE AND INSURANCE 1. Each member of the official delegation must pay 40 EUR per night. 2. Each extra person must pay 103 EUR per night except for coach drivers who must pay 40 EUR per night. 3. According to the rules of the ISF, each participant must pay a contribution of 20 EUR to the ISF. This amount will be paid to the organizers on arrival. 4. Each country participating with 1 team pays 375 EUR for 1 referee or 750 EUR for 2 referees when participating with 2 teams. The referees travelling expenses are covered by the national handball federations concerned. 5. The total amount for 1 person in the official delegation is 340 EUR - including the deposit. If a team cancels its participation, the deposit will only be refunded for a valid reason with proof. The deposit will be deducted from the total fee of participation. The remaining amount must be paid in cash or with valid bank check on arrival. Any bank transfer of the balance payment must be made in agreement with Danish School Sport and must be made prior to arrival. Each country must have insurance for all delegation members to cover any civil responsibilities and health insurance.

6 RULES AND REGULATIONS These regulations will apply to and be binding to all teams participating in the ISF Handball 2008 World Schools Championship. 1. All teams and players must accept playing against teams and players from all other countries taking part, as requested by the organisers. 2. The Organising Committee will nominate a Control Commission, a Disciplinary Commission and a Jury of Appeal according to the ISF rules. 3. Upon arrival in Ikast, the Head of Delegation must pay the balance of fees due to the organizers and present the following to the Control Commission: 1) the balance of fees due 2) passport or any other official identity card for each player bearing the surname and first name of the player, date of birth and nationality 3) a letter from their school certifying that the players are registered pupils at the school 4) 1 passport photograph of every member of the official delegation (if not sent beforehand) 4. The Organising Committee reminds all participants that they must abide by the rules and laws concerning anti-doping controls. 5. The rules of the game follow the international rules of the game of handball. 6. IMPORTANT: Please notice that according to a decision of the ISF Technical Commission of Handball on the 12 th of May 2007 in Sweden, a new rule will be introduced at the ISF Handball 2008: The rules of shoot out (the light version) will be applied in the placement matches and the finals where a decision must be made - and replace extra time and penalty throws in case of a draw after the end of a match. Please find the rules of the shoot out on the official website: - and on the EHF s website: PRIZES AND CERTIFICATES 1. Each player will receive a commemorative certificate. 2. Teams placed first, second and third will receive medals and a trophy. 3. A Fair Play Award will be presented to a delegation at the end of the championship in accordance with current ISF practice. TECHNICAL RULES 1. Matches last 2x25 minutes with a 10 minute break 2. Use of glue is allowed.

7 3. Balls will be provided by the organizers. (Size for the girls : cm, for the boys : cm). 4. Disciplinary measures: - If a player is disqualified, the appeal jury will decide if he / she may play the next match - If a player is excluded he/she will not be allowed to play the next match. If this rule is not respected the match will be considered as a defeat (6-0). - A team who does not show up for a match or who arrives late (within five minutes before the beginning of a match) will lose the match with a score of The referees will check all players accreditation cards before the beginning of each match by comparing the cards and the match protocol. - The matches will be supervised by members of the EHF, the ISF and the Organising Committee. BAZAAR MEETING OF THE NATIONS The participants are invited to present their cultural background in an original way and thus promote their country. Therefore, a bazaar will be organized where each country under the theme: Why should I, as a youngster, spend my holidays in my country? Folders, videos, photos, presentations, song, music or any other original feature can be presented or the delegation can bring culinary specialties (drinks or dishes). Please inform in Entry Form 3 about the kind of feature that your delegation will bring/present. CLIMATE Please note that the temperature in Denmark in March/April can range between late winter and early spring. It may either be cold and windy or nice and relatively warm weather according to Danish standards. Remember to bring warm clothes and rain coats!
