CADET TEAM TRIALS CADET TEAM TRIALS: 16 or 17 years of age (born in 2001 or 2002); 15 years of age (born in 2003) may compete parental authorization and a medical certificate are required.

2 MEN S FREESTYLE (FS): 41-45, 48, 51, 55, 60, 65, 71, 80, 92, 110 kg CADET TEAM TRIALS WOMEN (WW): 36-40, 43, 46, 49, 53, 57, 61, 65, 69, 73 kg Please be aware that in order to be eligible (to qualify) to compete in the Cadet Team Trials (Men s Freestyle & Women), you must compete in the current Canadian Championships and you must: 1 Place top 3 as a U17 at the 2018 U17 Canadian Championships; OR 2 Place top 5 as a 17-year-old (born in 2001) at the 2018 U19 Canadian Championships OR if you are a 17-year-old (born in 2001) that is directly eliminated (i.e. second loss of the tournament) by an 18-year-old (born in 2000) that places in the top 5. All athlete and support staff (coaches, team leaders, medical, officials) registrations and payments, where applicable, must be made through the Championship Registration Portal ( u17-u19-canadian-wrestling-championships/) Other requirements for participation will also be found in the registration portal. REGISTRATION The registration deadline is March 23 rd, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET. Late registrations will be accepted until March 30 th, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET, but will be subject to a late fee as outlined in the Entry Fees section below. No registrations will be accepted after March 30 th, 2018 at 11:59 pm ET. This applies to all athletes, coaches and support staff. All athletes and support staff must be registered members of their PTSO and be members in good standing with the PTSO and WCL as of the time of weigh-in for the event. Please check with your PTSO to determine if they have any additional registration requirements. Officials must be registered members in good standing with the Canadian Association of Wrestling Officials (CAWO) and their Provincial Wrestling Officials Association (if applicable). COACHES To receive a coach accreditation (eligible to coach during the event), coaches must have the following MINIMUM elements recorded in their NCCP transcripts, NO LATER than March 30 th, 2018: 1 Make Ethical Decisions Evaluation 2 Competition Introduction CERTIFIED status Payment of entry fees will be done through the WCL online Registration Portal with the exception of Cadet Trials (Men s Freestyle and Women), which will take place on-site once eligibility (qualification) is confirmed at the end of each day of competition (April 13 th for men s freestyle and April 14 th for women freestyle). The cost for Trials is $40 per athlete (payable on-site). ENTRY FEES U17 $135 Men s Freestyle, Women, Men s Greco-Roman, Women s Greco-Roman (one event) $175 Men s Freestyle + Men s Greco-Roman (two events) $175 Women + Women s Greco-Roman (two events) U19 $135 Men s Freestyle, Women, Men s Greco-Roman, Women s Greco-Roman (one event) $175 Men s Freestyle + Men s Greco-Roman (two events) $175 Women + Women s Greco-Roman (two events)

3 All entries received after March 23 rd, 2018 will be subject to a $25 late fee per event entered. No registrations will be accepted after March 30 th, 2017 at 11:59 pm ET. ENTRY FEES SCRATCHES All scratches before March 23 rd, 2018 (11:59 pm ET) will be fully refundable. All scratches after March 23 rd, 2018 (11:59 pm ET) & prior to March 30 th, 2018 (11:59 pm ET) will be 75% refundable. All scratches after March 30 th, 2018 (11:59 pm ET) are NON-REFUNDABLE. Please check with your PTSO to determine if any additional fees apply. RULES Wrestling Canada Lutte rules (TBD) will apply with a modified double elimination bracket system. Competitors must be members in good standing with their PTSO and Wrestling Canada Lutte. Men s Freestyle and Women s competition is closed to Canadian citizens and those individuals with Permanent Resident status. Cadet Team Trials are closed to Canadian citizens only. Legal proof of age and citizenship status must be provided when registering online and at weigh-ins. Greco-Roman competition (men and women) is open to all competitors. PRACTICE TIMES MEDICAL & DOPING CONTROL All practice times must be booked. Please reserve your practice times no later than March 1 st. Practices will be in the Bear Wrestling room. Athletes requiring preventative therapy will require their own supplies. Arrival and departure information (flight #, arrival and departure times, team delegation names) must be received by the tournament hosts. Ground transportation must be received no later than 4 weeks prior to the competition. Requests following that date will NOT be accepted.
