1 FALL ADDENDUM * = most recent change AS OF For FALL 2016, course section codes will be used to convey important information about a specific course. Information identified in the new section code scheme includes: course offering dates (called part-of-term ), approximate time of day the course will be offered, and course location or special course. All section codes used in UMW class schedules will be three (3) space listings and will follow the coding scheme outlined Listed below please find changes/additions to the Fall 2016 class schedule since its finalization. Current course schedule info is also available via DAWGS and the university website 1st SPACE designates what part-of-term (p-o-t) the course is offered, codes used include: 5-8 = designate SPRING block classes; (1=1st block, 2=2nd block, 3=3rd block, 4=4th block) F = a full-term class, also called a string class G = 1st-half of the semester (blocks 1& 2) H = 2nd-half of the semester (blocks 3& 4) X = start/end dates fall outside of p-o-t offerings; check dates in DAWGS or the printed class schedule* 2nd SPACE designates the approximate time of day course meets: A = morning (AM) P = afternoon (PM) N = night or evening D = all or most of the day (mix morning/afternoon/evening/night) M = (2nd or) multiple sections of the same course offered during T = To-be-announced 3rd SPACE designates the course location (or special section) as follows: 0-9 = on campus courses I = Internet course J = joint, internet& required meetings A = Hamilton B = Butte (ECE, PDS, etc) G = Great Falls H = Helena L = Billings M = Missoula T = Temporary, transitory, other location* V = Havre Z = Bozeman X = Extension course (restricted enrollment) Examples: Sec Code What p-o-t* Time/when offered* Where offered* 2P0 2nd block, Fall semester Afternoon On campus FTI Full semester All day Internet GN1 First half of term Night or evening On campus FTJ Full semester To be announced Internet plus one or more required face-to-face meetings* *check schedule detail in DAWGS for exact meeting dates, times and locations (places/rooms) EXCEPTIONS to the three space section code scheme above: courses with a single 0 =zero (no other letters or numbers) section code, designate multiple offering directed study, independent study or experimental courses that have the same dept/rubric, course number and location, but, the coura5e titles/content and credits will vary.
