3 ABOUT US Founded in 1987 as the BC Seniors Games, and renamed the 55+ BC Games in 2014, the 55+ BC Games are an annual, multi-sport event hosted by a different community each year. This is one of BC s largest annual multisport events with approximately 3,500 competing participants and 1,500 volunteers from across the province. The economic impact on a Hosting Community is more than $2,000,000 annually. The BC Senior Games Society is a volunteer based, charitable organization that consists of an Executive Committee and 12 Zone Directors. The Society retains ownership and provides strategic direction to execute the Games, while the 12 Zone Committees are responsible for the administration and registration for all participating sports. As a membership-driven society with approximately 4,800 members, we are extremely proud of our achievements and consider our Games to be the best alternate health care program for BC residents aged 55 plus. 5 CORPORATE SPONSORSHIPS Every year, the 55+ BC Games is funded in part by: BC Government Grant provided to each Host Society Participant/non-participant registration fees Corporate Sponsorship Our continuing challenge is to ensure we have the resources available to meet the needs of the growing 55+ population and the increasing registration in the 55+ BC Games. Sponsors of the 55+ BC Games will associate their brand with a stable and growing multi-sport event in British Columbia while providing funding to create an outlet that allows 1.3 million British Columbians, over 55 years of age, to stay active, healthy, and connected to their peers. We are seeking Corporate Sponsors who share our commitment to providing the 55+ population the opportunity to participate in activities that keep them physically fit, mentally alert, and socially engaged.
