The Olympics is set to be the most spectacular sporting event that the UK will host in Use our handy guide to explore the BBC London 2012 website, the online home of the BBC's Olympic news, sport, video, torch relay and Festival 2012 coverage. This guide includes simple instructions to help you use the website to watch and listen to the latest Olympic sporting news, see the latest aerial photos of the Olympic Park and much more. This guide will help you learn to: Find a link on a web page Scrolling on a page Clicking on a video or audio clip These skills can also be used across the internet including more content on the BBC Sport website too. 01

2 Searching for the BBC London 2012 website Type into your web browser and press the enter key on your keyboard. This will open the BBC London 2012 website's homepage. 02

3 In this guide we re going to take you through some features and sections of the BBC s London 2012 website: Olympic timeline On the homepage you will find a blue horizontal timeline. The timeline is a fun and informative way to countdown towards the Olympics and can help you keep up to date with sporting events as they unfold. To start, click on an orange dot to reveal links to more content. Click again on the blue link to see even more information about what's happening that day. This will open a new page. When you have finished, click the back button to return to the BBC London 2012 homepage. 03

4 Watching and listening to programme clips Scroll down the page using the scroll bar to the section London 2012 Watch/Listen. Browse through the gallery by clicking on the left or right arrow on either side of the gallery. Watch or listen to a clip by clicking on the play icon. Click the back button when you have finished to return to the home page. Shining a light on the past Scroll down the London 2012 homepage and click on torch relay on the right hand side of the page. This will open a new page. Scroll down and click on the link Shining a light on the past. You can now watch a film of the Olympic torch arriving at the 1948 London Olympics opening ceremony. Click on the back button twice to return to the BBC London 2012 homepage. 04

5 Olympic medals timeline With medals stretching back to 1896, explore the different designs and styles with this interactive gallery. From the homepage click on the box that reads London 2012: Olympic medals timeline. This will open a new page displaying a gallery of summer and winter Olympic medals, including the new medals for London On this page you will see two tabs; Summer Games and Winter Games. To select a tab, move your cursor over it and click once. You will notice that when you move your cursor over the coins they light up in a different colour. Click on the medal to reveal more info about it. Click the back button when you have finished to return to the home page. 05

6 Olympic Park from the Air To see the latest aerial photos of the Olympic Park click on the link Olympic Park from the Air on the right hand side of the homepage. This will take you to a new page Click on the white arrows to view all the photos available. Text will appear below which explains the image you can see. You can also click on the small pictures below to go directly to the image you want. Click the back button when you have finished to return to the homepage. 06
