2 ABOUT THE EVENT The Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ASAM) will host the 64th annual Conference and Scientific Meeting at Rydges Southbank Townsville from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 September We anticipate a minimum of 150 delegates from Australia and New Zealand will attend. ASAM members are primarily medical practitioners with an interest in aviation and aerospace medicine, and aeromedical retrieval. Many are also pilots. ASAM has a strong representation of medical practitioners in the military. The purpose of this important national event is to provide a formal professional development meeting incorporating opportunities for Australian and New Zealand health practitioners to interact, share experiences, hear others stories, teach and learn. This year s conference theme Aerospace medicine: spanning the globe reflects the close interaction with aerospace medicine of: public health medicine retrieval medicine travel & tropical medicine. The Conference Convenor invites all those interested in aerospace medicine to submit an abstract for a scientific paper or poster. Abstracts submitted on topics encompassed by the conference theme are strongly encouraged. Two and a half days... The 2016 Conference will have two and a half days of scientific sessions. The program will commence with the welcome reception on Thursday evening at Victoria Bridge, Townsville and conclude with a farewell lunch on Sunday afternoon. The social events including the welcome reception and the conference dinner are available for sponsorship. The program includes... The 2016 Conference will be held at Rydges Southbank Townsville. Trade displays will be held in the area where delegates will congregate during catering breaks. In addition to the trade display there will be ample opportunities for you to liaise with delegates at social functions and meal breaks. All members are encouraged to submit papers on difficult or interesting cases encountered in clinical practice. Consistently, conference delegates indicate the value and appeal of case studies. 6 COFFEE CART SPONSOR $3,300 (inc GST) PLUS cost of coffee One opportunity exists to sponsor an espresso coffee cart for the ASAM Conference. Doctors love their coffee, and this would be a great way to get on their good side! For extra exposure - you could supply your own (branded) coffee cups/mugs, and invite delegates to take them as a souvenir at the end of the meeting.
