1 THE LIST OF EVENTS HELD BY THE DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, NUML 1. International Symposium on Human Rights Violations in the Indian-Held Kashmir, December 10, 2018 The Department of International Relations, NUML, Islamabad organized a department-level One-Day International Symposium on Human Rights Violations in the Indian-Held Kashmir on December 10, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarwat Rauf was the Focal Person for the event, whereas Dr. Farhan M. Chak, Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad Khan, and Mr. Waleed Rasool were the respectable speakers. The Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Shahid Siddiqui concluded the session and at the end of event, DG-NUML Muhammad Ibrahim distributed the shields. 2. Orientation Session of WWF-Pak International Eco-Internship Programme, December 06, 2018 There was an Orientation Session of WWF-Pak International Eco-Internship Programme at department-level basically organized to promote the concept of community services for which the Event Organizer was Ms. Saadia Saif Niazi, whereas Ms. Zarmina Khan was the guest speaker for the said session.

Nomination of IR-faculty Member for Lectures at Command and Staff College, Quetta, 26-30, November, 2018 Assistant Professor Ms. Pashmina Mughal was invited for a series of lectures at Command and Staff College, Quetta from th November, 2018 as part of the Visiting Faculty Guidance Programme for Staff Course to mentor and guide the participants of the said Staff Course for their final research papers. 4. Two-Day Seminar on The Geo-Politics of Indian Ocean and Significance of the Sea-Power of Pakistan, November, 2018 A Two-Day Seminar on The Geo-Politics of Indian Ocean and Significance of the Sea-Power of Pakistan was held on November 14-15, 2018 for which Ms. Maliha Zeba Khan was the Focal Person/Coordinator. The Chief Guests were Adm. (R) Asif Sandhila (Former Naval Chief) and Adm. (R) Muhammad Zakaullah (Former Naval Chief); whereas other eminent speakers were Rear Adm. (R) Saleem Akhtar; Vice Adm. (R) Iftikhar Rao; Dr. Azhar Ahmad, HoD-HSS, Bahria University, Islamabad; and Cdre. (R) Baber Bilal Haide r, Director National Institute of Maritime Affairs, Islamabad.

UN Day Celebration, 24 th October 2018 The United Nationa Day was celebrated by the Department of International Relations and Department of Peace and Conflict Studies on October 24, 2018 for which the Event Coordinator was Ms. Pashmina Mughal. The Speech Competition and Quiz on the topic were held, and United Nations General Assembly s session was emulated and the UN Secretary General, Pakistani Foreign Minister, Indian Foreign Minister, and President Donald Trump s speeches were re-enacted by the students. 6. One day Seminar on Climate Change and its Environmental Impact on Human Life & World Security, October 17, 2018 A department-level seminar titled as Climate Change and its Environmental Impact on Human life & World Security was held on October 17, 2018 for which the speakers were Syed Khurram Shahzad, Dr. Saima Sadiq, Mr. Kashif Mir, and Dr. Imran Saqib Khalid, and the Moderator/Coordinator was Ms. Saadia Saif Niazi.

Seminar on Opportunities Emerging through Belt and Road Initiative, 12 th October, 2018 A department-level seminar on Opportunities Emerging through Belt and Road Initiative was held on October 12, 2018 in which the speaker was Mr. Hamza Orakzai, CEO & Founder of OBOR-Tunity; whereas the Event Coordinator was Ms. Saadia Saif Niazi. 8. Study Tour of the Coastline of Pakistan, June 24-30, 2018 A Study Tour to the coastal areas of Pakistan for the Masters, M. Phil., and Ph. D. students was organized under supervision of Dr. Adnan Sarwar Khan, HOD-IR & PCS; Dr. Muhammad Riaz Shad, Coordinator M. Phil, Ph. D., and the Event Organizer Ms. Maliha Zeba Khan from June 24 th to 30 th, 2018 for which we are grateful to the Southern Command of Pakistan Army who provided the sponsorship and all kind of logistic support during the visit as well as Pakistan Navy who facilitated all the visits of Creek area, PNA, PNSC, Ormara and PNS-Akram (Gwadar). 9. 5 A department level seminar on the topic of Maritime Potentials of Pakistan was organized on May 08, 2018 in which the speaker was Cdre. (R) Obaidullah Syed, whereas Ms. Saadia Saif Niazi was the Event Coordinator.
