1 Ex timetable May/June 2020 A-level, AS, Level 3 certificates, Functional Skills, AQA Baccalaureate, Level 3 Extended Project, Applied General and TVQ General notes 1. A-level and AS exs are timetabled in common ex slots agreed by all ex boards under the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ). 2. Each ex must be taken on the day, date and at the time shown on the timetable. The published starting time of all exs is either 9.00 or Students taking more than one ex in a session should take these consecutively. At the discretion of the school/college a supervised break may be given between the exs taken consecutively. 3. Schools/colleges may start an ex up to 30 minutes before the published starting time without notifying AQA. 4. Schools/colleges may delay the starting time of an ex by up to 30 minutes later than the published starting time without notifying AQA. 5. For information on any other timetable variations, please refer to the JCQ Instructions for conducting exinations or contact Customer services. 6. Students must remain under supervision until for morning exs and 2.30 for afternoon exs. For exs of less than one hour s duration, students must remain under supervision for a period equal to the duration of the ex after the published starting time shown on the timetable. 7. Some components require the issue of question papers, stimulus material or other information in advance of the normal timetable period. Schools/colleges should check the specification for information on the material required by students. 8. Any reading time allowed for an ex is included in the time specified. 9. Schools/colleges must arrange practical and oral units according to the procedures given on the relevant subject page of our website. Such units are shown only on the Subject and product list pages of this document. Subject/qualification notes 10. The latest dates by which schools/colleges should submit their marks/assessments or levels to AQA and to the moderator are shown in the table below. 1 of 33

Students retaking a qualification with a non-ex assessment (NEA) component may carry forward their NEA marks a previous series in accordance with the guidance available on the Carry forward of marks page of our website. 12. The externally set assignment for A-level Art and Design will be dispatched to schools/colleges for issue on or after 1 February Composition briefs for AS Music 7271/C and A-level Music 7272/C will be released on or after 15 September 2019 and are to be conducted between 15 September 2019 and 15 May For 7271/P and 7272/P, performances should take place between 1 March 2020 and 15 May The externally set assignments for AS Dance 7236/X and A-level Dance 7237/X will be dispatched to schools/colleges for issue on or after 15 September 2019, visits for the practical exs will take place between 1 March 2020 and 30 May Modern Foreign Language speaking tests must be conducted between 14 April 22 May Schools/colleges can only test during 5 weeks of this window. 16. Functional Mathematics Level and Level pre-release material can be issued to students on or after 17 April Preliminary material for Level 3 Mathematical Studies should be issued to students on 1 March Please note that preliminary material for Paper 2 is common for all paper 2 units. 18. The visiting window for A-level Dra (7262/X) will take place between 20 November May The awarding bodies have designated Wednesday 24 June 2020 as a contingency day for exinations. This is consistent with the qualification regulators document Ex system contingency plan: England, Wales and Northern Irelandhttps:// The designation of a contingency day within the common exination timetable is in the event of national or local disruption to exinations in the United Kingdom. It is part of the awarding bodies standard contingency planning for exinations. Centres must therefore remind candidates that they must remain available until Wednesday 24 June 2020 should an awarding body need to invoke its contingency plan. 2 of 33
