Links for registration and more information will be distributed by January 9, The Medical Waiver and Parent Consent are attached in a separate file. These forms must be filled out for each athlete and be on-site during competition either as a hard copy or in electronic format. Refunds will only be issued provided that a medical certificate and request for refund is submitted to AGF by 4:00 pm MDT, Friday, April 24 th, A $10 administration fee will be withheld for those withdrawing from the competition after April 17 th, Artistic Westerns Bulletin #1 General Information P a g e 1 8

2 Equipment Judges Assignments All equipment for the Western Canadian Championships competition will be AAI, supplied courtesy of Skyline Athletics. Teams are not authorized to bring their personal boards or Yurchenko mats to the event. All Provinces/Territories are required to submit a list of judges to AGF by Friday, March 15 th, Should this information be available earlier, please feel free to submit ahead of the deadline. WAG Judges Krista Morris wag@abgym.ab.ca MAG Judges Derek Hanson mag@abgym.ab.ca **New** Training Requests As per minutes from the GCG Western Provinces meeting on June 13, 2014, Provinces are requested to indicate if they would like to be included in the Provincial training slots available on Thursday, April 30 th. This information should be submitted to the Technical chairs by Friday, April, 10 th. The schedule will be reflective of the Provinces arrival times. WAG Krista Morris wag@abgym.ab.ca MAG Derek Hanson mag@abgym.ab.ca Medical and Physiotherapy Services Transportation Both EMTs and a Physiotherapist will be available and on-site during the training and competition sessions. Each coach or manager must carry the necessary written authorization to have his/her athlete(s) treated. Each person must carry his/her Provincial health card. All teams (athletes, coaches, judges and support staff) will be transported between the airport and hotel based on flight times submitted. Please submit flight times to Robin McDougall by Monday, March 30 th at specevents@abgym.ab.ca to arrange this transportation. The Deerfoot Inn & Service Plus Inns are approximately 28 km, 20 minutes by car, from the competition venue. There will be a shuttle for officials, between the hotels and Pason Centennial Arena. If you are interested in renting vehicles, Gymnastics Canada has an agreement with Enterprise; quote account code XVC5150. Rental vehicles can be hard to come by at certain times of year, so please book early. 3 Accommodation Two options of hotels which are located within a block of each other: Deerfoot Inn Service Plus Inn & Suites Street SE Avenue SE Reservations for both hotels can be made by calling or (403) and using reference code GMSAGF15. Reservations must be made by March 31, Both hotels offer the following: $139/night plus taxes for single, double, triple and quad occupancy Free full hot breakfast beginning at 6:00am each morning Free Wi-fi Free Parking Waterslide and pool Event Social AGF and the Local Organizing committee will host socials for all participants of Artistic Westerns at the Deerfoot Inn on Saturday, May 2 nd following competition. There will be an athlete-friendly social for all and a small adult-friendly social directly adjacent. We look forward to seeing everyone for a fun evening! Technical Meeting The technical meeting will be held on Thursday, April 30 th immediately following the WAG P4 Invitational at the Pason Centennial Arena. This meeting is for all coaches, managers and officials, providing an opportunity for discussion on any policy, procedures, concerns etc. If additional technical groups require meeting time and space, a request for meeting space shall be made to the Organizing Committee by March 1, Hospitality Athlete Numbers Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided for coaches and judges at the venue in the hospitality room adjacent to the competition floor. Meal times will be based on the competition schedule. Athlete numbers will be supplied to all athletes and are to be worn during all competitions. Numbers must be returned to the meet organizers at the completion of the competition. A $40.00 fee will be charged for each number not returned.
