2 Last Month s Meeting The meeting was very brief, so we would have plenty of time to make the swags. The meeting was called to order by Adele N. Adele asked the members to forward updated contact information to Virginia S. for the 2018 book. Virginia S. gave a brief treasurer s report. She said she could take payments for the Holiday Party and 2018 membership dues. Marlene H. asked that members interested in the 2018 Flower Show attend a planning meeting. Details about the show will be in future newsletters in The show will take place at the Twinsburg Historical Society the same day as the Garden Tour. Marianne P. gave a report for the nominating committee. The members of the committee are Ada P., Marianne P. and Virginia S. Marianne thanked the club members who had submitted nominations and announced the slate of officers for They are Co-Presidents: Adele Nykaza and Valerie Wales, Vice President: Judy Aplis, Secretary: Bev Helser and Treasurer: Virginia Schmidt. The new officers will be installed at the Holiday Party. The meeting was adjourned. Hostesses: Judy Aplis and Rose Skipper At our Annual Swag Making Meeting the members worked diligently and completed about 110 swags. Thanks to Naomi who donated beautiful holly branches from the bushes in her yard and to Sue for the blue spruce. These added a very festive touch to the swags. Thanks to Adele for arranging with the city to pick up the greens from Crown Hill Cemetary and deliver them to the community center and then pick up the completed swags and hang them around town. As you drive around Twinsburg look for our swags hanging on light poles, signs, and buildings, etc. throughout the city. They add a special holiday feeling to the area. Thanks to all of this year s swag makers for doing such an awesome job.

5 Holiday Craft Ideas FESTIVE FRINGE Wrap an embroidery hoop with yarn, then tie 24 strands of yarn to the bottom, trim diagonally. Wire on greenery and an ornament. HOLLY LEAVES Holiday greeting cards can create clutter or they can become a cheery wreath. Cut out colorful leaves from your greeting cards and create a colorful wreath. All you need is a styrofoam wreath form, toothpicks and a hot glue gun. POPPED CORKS Save the evidence of a holiday party for this recycled wreath. Use floral wire to string together wine corks with red jingle bells between them. Add ribbon and greenery for a festive touch.
