1 The Eurosport identity is a comprehensive design scheme comprising a number of core elements. These elements come together to make the Eurosport brand unique, recognisable and distinct from other broadcast and media companies. This Brand Identity Style Guide has been developed to provide an understanding of the off-air identity, it s elements and the ways in which they should be used; allowing you to create engaging and beautiful brand communications that are delivered with precision and consistency. These guidelines describe the overall principles of the off-air identity system and also show examples of how the brand is implemented over a range of different off-air applications. All documents produced internally or externally which include the Eurosport logo must be validated by the communications department before going to print. For questions about Eurosports visual identity, any applications not presented in this document or to obtain the files needed for reproduction, please address your requests to: Marketing Department Daniela Hochgesand/André Radix 3 rue Gaston et René Caudron Issy Les Moulineaux FRANCE dhochgesand@eurosport.com aradix@eurosport.com

15.1 LAYOUT General Positioning for Logos 53 The Logotype and Monogram may be positioned centrally and otherwise, apart from the far left edge. Logotype Monogram Logotype is mathematically centered. Monogram is visually centered (See pp.52)

15.2 LAYOUT Monogram: Visual Centering 54 The Eurosport Monogram appears visually centered by using the following steps: 1. Calculate the exclusion zone to the left and right of the Monogram using the method outlined on pp Center the Monogram (including the exclusion zone left and right) within the format. NB: The exclusion zone to the left and right must be observed as a minimum. 3. Retaining the position of the exclusion zone; move the Monogram to the right so that the top right hand anchor point aligns with the left hand edge of the exclusion zone Result

15.3 LAYOUT General Scaling: Logotype 55 The following directions may be used as a general guide to scaling the Logotype within a layout. The size of the Logotype is determined by the size of the format. MARGIN: The margins are calculated to 5% (a twentieth) of the shortest side of the format. SCALE Larger logotype: The width of the Logotype is measured fom the left- hand edge of the E outstrokes, to the right-hand edge of the T. The scale is calculated to 33.33% (a third) of the width, within the margin. Smaller logotype: The width of the Logotype is measured fom the left-hand edge of the E outstrokes, to the right-hand edge of the T. The scale is calculated to 16.66% (a sixth) of the width, within the margin. Margin 5% of the width (shortest side of format) 5% 5% Scale LARGE: 33% of width within margin 33.33% SMALL: 16.66% of width within margin Large Small 16.66%

15.4 LAYOUT General Scaling: Channel & Product Logotypes 56 The following directions may be used as a general guide to scaling the Channel and Product Logotypes within a layout. The scale is determined by the size of the format and is calculated to the Eurosport element of the Logotype. MARGIN: The margins are calculated to 5% (a twentieth) of the shortest side of the format. SCALE Large: The width of the Logotype is measured fom the left- hand edge of the E outstrokes, to the right-hand edge of the T. 59 LAYOUT Continuation pages: Logotypes and folios 57 If using a Logotype to brand subsequent pages of a presentation, document or other literature, the it should be positioned in either the top righthand or bottom left hand corner of the page. POSITION: The Logotype should be placed along the top margin and exend to the middle of the righthand margin. (The margins are calculated to 5% (a twentieth) of the shortest side of the format. SCALE: The Logotype should be presented at the minimum size (3mm in height). FOLIOS: Numbers should be placed centrally in the bottom right hand corner. Position within Margin Margin is 5% of total width of format 5% 5% Middle point of margin 10 5% 1 Scale 3mm

LAYOUT General Layout 59 MARGINS: The margins are calculated to 5% (a twentieth) of the shortest side of the format. 62 16.1 ADDITIONAL GRAPHIC ELEMENTS Live & Exclusive Cartridges 60 The Live and Exclusive cartridges are essentially on-air devices and are not for general use in off-air communications. However, if they contitute part of a promotion i.e 23rd June. Tournament Name Live on Eurosport 1, or Championship match exclusive on Eurosport 2 etc. the following guides should be used at reference. Live and Exclusive Cartridegs use Alpha Headline Bold in Optical with a kerning set at -5 NB: These assets have primarily been designed for screen use and therefore their geometry is relative to pixels. For best accuracy, it is advisable to use pixel measurements when constructing these cartridges. 10px 8px 31 px 8px 8px 31px 2px 2px 6px 6px

16.2 ADDITIONAL GRAPHIC ELEMENTS Live & Exclusive Cartridges: Position and Spacing 61 POSITION: These cartridges should always be positioned to the left of the Logotype. SPACING (Logotypes): The space between the right-hand edge of the cartridge and the furthest left-hand point of the star is equal to half the width of the T in Eurosport (a). SPACING (Monograms): The space between the right-hand edge of the cartridge and the lefthand edge of the Monogram s E outroke is equal to the width of the inner space of the E (b). (a) (a) = 50% width of T (a) (a) (b) (b) = Width of inner space of E (b) (b)

16.3 ADDITIONAL GRAPHIC ELEMENTS HD Channels 62 Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 are also available in High Definition. HD appears as a superscript to the right of the Channel Logotype and is constructed using Eurosport Lettering (see pp.59). The following directions denote the scaling and positioning of the HD superscript. SCALE: The height of the HD superscript is equal to the height of the upper-story of the letters R and P in the Logotype, measured form the top of the wordmark to the bottom of the eye (x). POSITIONING: The space between the right hand edge of the cartridge and the HD superscript is equal to half the width of the T in the Logoptype (a), and the gap between the H and D is equal to one third of that space (b). NB: When used on-air, the scaling of the HD supercript is larger, relative to the Logotype, in order to achieve optimum legibility. (a) (a) (x) (b) (b) Exclusion Zone As with all Logos, Logotypes + HD Superscript must always be surrounded by a minimum area of space. This area of isolation ensures that headlines, text or other visual elements do not encroach on the logo. The Exclusion Zone is defined by the width of the T in the Logotype ( ). Please note: The Exclusion Zone is a minimum and should be increased wherever possible. = Width of T

17.1 EUROSPORT LETTERING For Logotype Use Only Not for general use 63 A bespoke alphabet has been created for the Eurosport Brand Identity. This set of letters is not for general use. Only top level Eurosport brands, descriptors and products carry this lettering.

17.2 CARTRIDGE & DESPCRIPTORS Not for general use 64 Eurosport channels and products use a cartridge to contain their descriptors. The colour of the cartridge aids in differentiation and is alloctated relative to the product, using the brand colour system. (See pp.??) When a cartridge is created for a new product, the construction rules below must be adhered to. The Eurosport Lettering is used for new descriptors, and should be scaled as described below. Please see pp.04? for colour references. SCALE: The height of the cartridge is equal to the height of the S in the Logotype (x). POSITIONING: The space between the left hand edge of the cartridge and the Logotype is equal to half the width of the T in the Logoptype (a). The gap between the edge of the cartridge and the beginning of the descriptor is equal to the width of the negative space in the T (b). (a) (a) (x) (x) (b) (b) (b) CORNERS: After the cartridge has been correctly scaled, the corner radii should be adjusted to match those within the Logotype. LETTERING SIZE: The descriptor lettering height is 70.24% the height of the Logotype T. 100% 70.24%
