2 SME Delegation Trip Moscow Samara - Togliatti. Business Opportunities for Swiss SMEs The exciting SME delegation trip will be under guidance of State Secretary Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch. The visit is open to all SMEs interested in possible Russian market entry as well as for SMEs which are already present in the market. The SME delegation trip would be of particular interest to the following sectors: Automotive subcontractors; aircraft subcontractors; building industry; infrastructure; industry; agri-food industry; healthcare; chemical industry; energy supply industry; construction industry. Moscow Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation, has approx million inhabitants and is the vibrant heart of this large country and its economy. Moscow and the Moscow region have been among the most dynamically growing regions of the Russian Federation for the last few years. The capital and its agglomeration serve as a hub for importers and wholesalers but is also itself an enormous interior market. Although the Moscow area is already very welldeveloped, there is still potential for newcomers. The government of Moscow has ambitious plans for the further expansion of its city and aims to set up a new international finance centre. Innovations and technology will be boosted with the international high-tech centre Skolkovo and the special economic zone "Selenograd". Samara/Togliatti Samara city is the capital of the Samara region and is the governor s residence. The region is one of most developed industrial and economic regions of the Russian Federation. It has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the country. Industrial activities in the region focus on the machine building industry, the chemical industry and the food processing industry. Our delegation will visit the Samara Space Centre and two high-tech companies. In Togliatti, the delegation will visit the biggest car manufacturer in the country. Stages of the SME Delegation trip First stage: Moscow. One of the highlights of the SME trip will be the reception in the Swiss Embassy on the first evening, given by Ambassador Pierre Helg. On the second day in Moscow, our delegation will meet representatives of the Russian Administration. Then, in the afternoon, we will visit the Metalloobrabotka, which is the 13th International specialized exhibition for equipment, instruments and tools for the metalworking industry. We will visit the SWISSMEM Swiss Pavilion with about 50 exhibitors. In the evening we will participate in the Swiss Evening, which will be the perfect occasion for networking with Swiss exhibitors and Russian guests. 2

3 Program Second stage: Samara. A meeting with the governor is planned in the capital of the Wolga region, which has more than one million inhabitants. The following company visits will be particular highlights: - ZSKB Progress, The Russian space shuttles and rockets are built here. - Aviacor, The company builds the new generation of the Antonow Airplanes. Third stage: Togliatti. The industrial town is very well known for the biggest car factory in the country: AwtoWAS (Lada Car factory). This company is the biggest manufacturer of passenger cars.
