2 ANNOUNCEMENT The Workshop Following a successful first international workshop which IENE organised in Athens on April 26-27, 2012 on Hydrocarbon Exploration and Production in the East Mediterranean and the Adriatic Sea, it was decided to convene a second one, next fall (see for the programme and presentations of the April 2012 Workshop). This year the geographical area of the workshop has been broadened to include the Black Sea. The scope of this event, which will be a one and a half day workshop, to be held again in Athens on October 31 st November 1 st, 2013, is to present the latest research work and carry out an evaluation regarding the region's hydrocarbon potential, but also refer to specific examples of exploration and production work. The Workshop, which is organised under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Environment, Energy & Climate Change (which is in charge of Greece s hydrocarbon sector) will be attended by specialists and executives from international companies with experience and active presence in the region in the upstream sector. Among others, the Workshop will refer to the latest geological, geophysical and seismic research and will cover specific regions, in the Black Sea, the Eastern part of the Mediterranean basin and the Adriatic Sea. A thirteen country group is proposed which includes Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine. A review of the different countries exploration work and production activities will be undetaken, as well as a review of their national programmes, including international concession rounds (ongoing and planned) and companies' investments. Also an examination of all relevant legal and financial issues will be undertaken. The objective is that of an overall assessment of activities in the region related to hydrocarbon exploration and production. As this is a workshop the number of places is strictly limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

4 Workshop Registration Participation in the Workshop is open to IENE and non IENE members. Delegates who wish to attend the workshop must complete and send to IENE s secretariat the attached registration form latest by October 21, As this is a workshop the number of places is strictly limited and registrations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. For IENE members the registration fee is %VAT ( 307,50) and for non IENE members %VAT ( 738). Payment can only be made through bank transfer. The registration fee includes all the documentation, coffee breaks, dinner and two lunches. For details see registration form. Invoices can be provided upon request by stating in full the company/organisation name, address, tax. number and/or VAT number. Payment of the registration fee must be made at the same time with the submission of the registration form. Unless payment is received IENE shall not acknowledge a delegate s registration. Cancellation Policy 1. Should a delegate be unable to attend a substitute delegate is welcome at no extra change. 2. IENE does not provide refunds for cancellations. Invoiced sums are payable in full, except in cases where IENE has been able to mitigate loss. 3. IENE will make available the workshop documentation to a delegate who is unable to attend and who has paid. 4. IENE reserves the right to alter the programme without notice including the substitution, alteration or cancellation of speakers and/or topics and/or alteration of the dates of the event. 5. IENE is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of substitutions, alteration, postponement or cancellation of an event. The Venue The workshop will be held at the Electra Palace Hotel ( which is a 5 star hotel situated in Plaka, in the historical quarter of Athens near the Acropolis archaeological sites and the new Acropolis Museum. The splendid facilities of Electra Palace will help with the smooth running of the workshop, providing delegates with all modern facilities. A special discount rate has been negotiated with the hotel for delegates attending the IENE workshop (see registration form).
