4 Combine harvesters production In 2015, the production of combine harvesters decreased nearly everywhere. The decline was particularly strong in Brazil and the US. 8 Combine harvesters sales Combine harvester sales in Germany increased by 1,4% in the season 2014/15. Between September 2015 and April 2016, however, the market decreased by 17%. Forecasts suggest that at the end of August, the market will end up with 1,570 units. 9 Combine harvesters sales The combine harvester markets in Bulgaria and Lithuania strongly grew in Also there were some significant increases in Australia, Japan and Sweden. In contrast, the markets in Brazil, the US, South Africa and the UK sharply decreased. Also the Russian and Polish market did not do well. 10 Combine harvesters foreign trade France is still Germany s most important export market for combine harvesters followed by Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine and UK. While exports to France, Poland, UK, Romania and Spain decreased last year, those to Bulgaria, Ukraine and Kazakhstan increased significantly. In total, 3 out of 4 exported combines go to EU markets. Also exports to the UK, Spain, Russia and the Czech Republic were much lower than in the previous year. In contrast, exports to Bulgaria, Italy, Lithuania and Slovakia did well. Also Iran is starting to join the league of the bigger players now. In contrast, among others, Italy and Croatia could increase their exports. Last year, imports from Belgium decreased as did German imports from Italy, Croatia, the USA and Poland - the latter two by double-digit percentages. In contrast, imports by Russia, the UK, Belgium and Romania among others decreased. Forecasts suggest that the season will end up with 500 units, which would be a decrease of 5,8%. 19 Forage harvesters foreign trade Every other combine harvester exported from Germany goes to an export market within the EU. Every fourth is shipped to North America. In total, German exports decreased by 13% last year. Imports in contrast strongly increased and nearly returned to the level of previous years. In the first quarter of 2016, both German imports and exports increases in double digit percentages.
